Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time you new people to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, check out some quests, and get hopping!

Introduction: I am not new, but one of my characters is! I'm Prince, and I am predisposed toward liking messed up characters, very leggy characters, very fabulous characters, or some combination of the three. Find me one who is all three, and I'm doomed.

Brief: A dark mage from Plegia with a disarmingly cheerful disposition. Frighteningly desensitized to the morbid and gruesome, Henry laughs at the sight of blood, casually mentions beheading, and lacks tact in most social situations... But being that he's taken from endgame, he's getting a little better! Very little fazes Henry: he's liable to crack jokes at the most inappropriate of times, whether that's at a funeral or on his own death bed. Henry has a natural ability to communicate with living creatures and finds himself more comfortable in the company of beasts rather than humans. With human company, he struggles to communicate how he's feeling past that near eternal smile. For more history/personality info, check out his application.
Seeking/Offering: (last intro) Henry's a Witch, but he wishes he could've become a Monster. He does well with any character type, from those who can reel him in to those who enable his troublesome behavior. If you'd like to interact with a character who is pretty good at humoring just about anybody but might not be so tolerable himself (if your character's squeamish or has rational sensibilities), this is your guy. He easily endears to others and even after a single amiable conversation, Henry's likely to kill people at a companion's request — making him a dangerous foe and ally to have.

Here in Aefenglom, Henry's been doing what little research he can on more forbidden topics, but he hasn't found much. He'd love to find somebody who has access to Parliamentary Records, or who wants a partner to break in with just to see what he can find! In addition, I'm looking for somebody he can talk to about what happens when Witches don't bond! He's read a little on it, and I'd like to develop him toward a cyclic state of overflowing with magic. He's just looking for something to give him an adrenaline rush comparable to using dark magic from his home world...! I'll discuss more of this stuff on the upcoming CR meme.

Brief: Fie's a former child soldier/mercenary turned student turned bracer. She's a dedicated friend who will absolutely troll the hell out of anyone. She loves naps, snacks, gardening, and not studying. Despite her small stature, she's incredibly fast and strong and agile due to her years on the battlefield, and she wields a pair of twin gunswords. You can read more in her application.
Seeking/Offering: Gimme anything to start off. She'll definitely rub some people the wrong way, and I'll love to play with that. Bonds won't bother her at all, given a similar canon mechanic in her game. I've already got two planned with castmates, but I'd love the eventual third one to be cross-canon. Definitely going to look for people to become close friends, who love her despite her trolling and quips.

Brief: Towa Herschel is a girl of small stature (she's only a little sensitive about it) that people tend to think is younger than she is. However, she's already graduated from a military academy, where she was it's devoted and capable Student Council President. She works harder than anyone but isn't keen to take too much credit. She tries her best to support everyone and has a big heart. Beyond that, she may not have the most natural talent but she makes up for it with her studies. She is fairly perceptive though when it comes to people's feelings and will do her best to support everyone.
Seeking/Offering: She's fresh, so I'm here for everything right now. She'll do her best to make friends with everyone-- whether it will work or not matters not. Even if you just want that study partner that will help you through tough lessons, she's a supportive gal. Bonds are familiar to her thanks to her canon, so she's not opposed to the idea at all. Appearance: like all irish lancers, she's fond of bodysuits
Brief: Scathach, in the ulster cycle, is the person who was responsible for training Cu Chulainn and Feridad (among apparently several other legendary heroes that are either rattled off in a list of names or conveniently not mentioned). she is the master of Dun Scaith, and guardian of the Land of Shadows, a sort of land of the dead in celtic mythology. Because of a life time of fighting and killing even gods, the World has blessed her not only with immortality (thanks, she hates it) but also keeping her "apart" from the "root" of the World, meaning not only can she not die, but it would take incredibly dire circumstances (such as the apocalypse) for her to be able to be summoned as a Heroic Spirit. funny enough, that's what happens in Grand Order, and thus she arrives.

Seeking/Offering: she insists she's retired, but Scathach is at her best when she's in a teacher/mentor position, though she will likely need one of her own to cope with being a yappy dog turnskin. unlike my other character, Ursula, Scathach is a lot colder on first read and while she's not unkind, it's a little harder to actually get close to her. so the best sort of CR for her are stubborn, reckless, couragous folk that will attract her attention and affection. she loves a good hero to watch over.

Yako Katsuragi | Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro | Witch

Character Name: Yako Katsuragi
Canon: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Appearance: Japanese girl in late teens, hair usually blonde (barring unfortunate spell accidents).
Brief: Yako is a former high school girl detective who was actually acting as the front for a mystery-eating demon (it's a long story). Equipped with a terrifyingly large appetite for her size, her love for food is an integral part of her character, but so is her empathy and compassion towards others. As a witch, she's mostly focused on enchantment as her specialty, and in particular, cooking. Given the time and effort, she can use it for a range of effects from enhanced strength and speed to easing pain. Otherwise, she has medium proficiency in repairing objects through transmutation and creating shields, and a minor proficiency in divination and healing relatively superficial wounds. In Aefenglom, she's been digging hard into the shared dreams and trying to find out how they connect to the mirrorbound -- and the world of Geardagas.
Seeking/Offering: Yako's a friendly and outgoing character who isn't easily put off by rough behavior or unsociableness, so she can be a bit of a push to get people out there and involved in what they might not choose to join themselves. She has the patience to orient people to what she knows of Aefenglom, and she's happy to share the information she's found through being nosy as hell. CR-wise, I'm really just looking to get her to get to know more people and make some friends similarly interested in being nosy.

She's bonded to Ritsu at the moment, but she'll be assisting with setting up Steven's speed dating: first, by adding some 'come and see!' enchanted oomph to posters posted around the Haven, which may have unintended consequences, and second, by actively pitching it to other people, new and old arrivals alike. I'll likely be putting up a prompt for that on the open log, if you'd like to run into her there (accepting the invitation isn't mandatory, of course).

Appearance: look at this nerd in his yellow turtleneck

Brief: Lloyd is a detective from the Crossbell State Police Department, who got put in command of an unorthodox new unit that specializes in doing JRPG sidequests, basically. Then his state got invaded by one of the neighboring superpowers, the police got disbanded, and he started living on the run as part of La Resistance. He accidentally adopted a weapon of mass destruction in the form of an adorable little girl one time, because this is a JRPG. Lloyd is generally a calm, serious type and the Designated Straight Man of his team, but he can also get hilariously gung-ho when the chips are down and the shit hits the fan. He does not. give. up. Ever.

Seeking/Offering: Lloyd is going to be specializing in divination magic, because what's a detective gonna do but try to figure out the mystery of how and why we're all suddenly here. I'd love for him to have some people to put his head together with on that front. He's surprisingly easygoing for a cop (the plot forces him to work with everyone from delinquents to yakuza), and he's good at looking at the spirit of people's actions rather than the letter, if that makes sense, so he can easily be roped into being your designated straight man for Shenanigans. (And I'd absolutely love that.)

Brief: viren is a mage in canon, with a specialty in the Dark Arts™ - however, i'm mean and decided to take that away by transforming him into a dragon. the current political, fantastical climate of his canon is fairly hostile to dragons (he's personally dubbed them the enemy of humanity) so he'll have fun dealing with those issues along the way, i'm sure. overall, viren is stuffy, arrogant, overly-serious— while he's the primary antagonist of his serious (thus far), he's solidly chaotically neutral and is very occasionally led by the whims of his tiny heart. he's the type of guy that thinks what he's doing is for the ultimate good, just, you know, sometimes you happen to have to kill a few (or a lot of) people along the way to get there.

overall, he's not typically actively malicious - just. dramatic and difficult.
Seeking/Offering: oh gosh. so much, so many.

• witches for him to eye with jealousy. why the hell did you get to use magic, huh, punk. he's also good if any character needs a kick in the ass for their studies.
  
• fellow magic users in general - he'll feel especially kindred if it's someone unceremoniously stripped of their magical abilities and likewise shoved into the monster life. though he's curious overall and would generally love, love to chat about any and all magic.
  
• dragons. god, will they initially be met with a messy combo of hostility/awe/reverence/fear/anger.
  
• elves?? elves. or those with elven-like features. bluntly, most humans in his canon have a case of the fantasy racism. it'd make for some conflict.

Brief: Steven is a cut kid and all around hype squad, who is also a space princess and planet defender back home. In Aefenglom, he's been researching into the Fae because he still feels like this might be their fault somehow, and he's pretty desperate to get home. Besides that, he has been flexing his musical abilities in the form of public performances, mixing illusion with song to tell stories about his life and homeworld. He can play several instruments, and he's been trying to adapt his sound to appeal to Aefenglom residents. He's also an amateur Event Organizer and is currently trying to organize a Witch & Monster speed dating event, to help people form Bonds.
Seeking/Offering: Steven is organizing a SPEED DATING EVENT so if your character would like to come to that, hit me up! He's got a ragtag gang of people helping him, and his is hanging fliers all over the Haven - fliers which have been accidentally enchanted by Yako to compel people to sign up for speed dating. So maybe your character sees one of those and just feels like speed dating is a good idea! Steven himself is setting up food and music, and is still looking for a venue.

I'd like for Steven to continue in an "event organizer" kind of role, because hey, he MC'd and planned a wedding, he can do what he wants. Otherwise I'm down for whatever - he's a friendly kid and I'd love new people to fret over. He also, notably, has a big pink lion as a familiar, if that's something your character would connect with him over.

Brief: Childermass is the former man of business (aka the guy who did all the actual work, lbr) of Mr. Norrell, who was one of the only two magicians in all of Regency era England. He is also a magician in his own right, which, technically, meant England had three magicians, it's just he never counted until very recently. He comes off as a very stoic, business-like sort of man, albeit with a knack for deadpan commentary whether people want it or not. That said, he does care a lot more about others than he lets on, it's just his actions towards that will always say far more than anything he'll ever admit up front.

Seeking/Offering: well, he's new so, definitely open to ideas.

• Most important thing is magic,always; learning as much about magic here as possible and deciding on which branches to pursue. He's already inclined towards divination and illusions but who knows.
• Figuring out if witches have factions to avoid/keep an eye on/befriend. He's used to being the rude bastard from the gutters that the upper crust despises and, judging from how similar Aefenglom seems, at first glance, to England, he has a feeling those very same people are going to exist here.
• Allies are a good thing to have, witch or monster.
• Enemies... Childermass isn't actually a bad guy but he is a thorn in the side of a lot of assholes back home. He's also not particularly nice, meaning negative CR will definitely be possible if anyone's interested in that.

She's taken from S7, EP1 — which means no trigger to bells or dead friends.

Steve is generally a good guy, but he has been through a lot lately, culminating in spending a year or so in a post-apocalyptic near future that eventually ended with him going back in time to the present and going hand-to-hand with a missile with predictable results to prevent it from ever happening. Ah, comics. So he's a little tired, a little salty, and his epic quest to find optimism again got slightly derailed, but he's trying.

Seeking/Offering: Steve is very much in a place where he's trying to find himself, and that's without starting to grow feathers, so he's going to be looking to make some connections. He tends to gravitate towards team building because that's what he does, so if anyone's looking to form groups for some quests and things, Steve is definitely your man.

He believes in second chances, accepting people for all their strangeness and faults, and has a lot of love for his friends and family--they're a priority above everything else. Even himself. Especially himself. He's struggled with a lot of depressed feelings and poor self esteem, but by his canon point he's mostly overcome them and is moving forward to a more positive future. After nearly destroying the world and said future but it's okay, he's Okay now.

Until he got dragged to another dimension (again) but it's fine, it can't be more of a hot mess than the past month of his life was. He's going to miss his modern amenities though.

Brief: Iramaat is a fae knight (or claims to be a knight), who claims she's here to help. She's actually rather self-centered, borderline narcissistic and incredibly manipulative. She sees herself as the heroine of her own, unfolding story, and so the world must support her. Even if she has to twist it to make it fit (or ignore things she doesn't particularly like).
Seeking/Offering: Negative and positive CR; she's drawn to people who have problems she thinks she can help "fix" or people vulnerable to her particular brand of charm. She will absolutely take advantage of the naive. Potential henchpeople if someone really wants to help her out. Potential lovers and friends, which will probably turn sour at some point down the line. Seeking/Offering: Rean is a Harpy of the corvid variety. He will not be eager to embrace his ... Crow... side thanks to his existing issues with superpowered dark alteregos. This means he'll be reluctant to form bonds initially or at least unable to maintain them for long-- so while he'll eventually be open to bonds with any gender, romantic or otherwise, he's a Lot to Deal With and is VERY LIKELY going to go feral at some point.

That said, he'll still need bonds. Once he's more comfy with the idea he might do full stupid and try for more than three because he's used to having closer to *ten*. So that's another thing... goodness.

Outside of bonds, I'll take positive and negative cr both! As a particularly practical protag, he's able to win many people over, but straight up villains and people just as stubborn as he is may give him some trouble. Please call him on his shit as he needs a reminder not to bottle things up.

Appearance: Here! He's a 38 sophisticated wizard played by an actor that's only 29 years old.
Brief: He's Newt Scamander's older brother and a lot more confident/outgoing in comparison (they have a complicated relationship). Against wizard legislature, he got involved in World War 1 and is known as a war hero for his deeds in it. He's also the head Auror of the British Ministry of Magic, so he's pretty high up there and experienced. However, while he doesn't mistreat and overall cares for magical creatures, he's definitely no expert like Newt. His main focus is finding Dark Wizards and making sure they don't hurt both muggles and wizards alike.

Seeking/Offering: I'm up for almost anything! Theseus is going to be a Witch, although it's going to take some time for him to get used to the magic here. I'm definitely interested in CR with people that have magic in their own canons, because he'd be interested in hearing how their world handles it. Or fellow soldiers from any war! He's a character that's dealt with a lot of loss.

Also characters that have siblings. Let Theseus complain to fellow older siblings about their younger siblings! Or let him advise or be advised by the younger sibling. He has difficulty understanding Newt sometimes!

Hooray! He's being taken from post-game, which means his last memories will be that unfun dying part. Also, although this is game!protag, I take a lot of inspiration from the Persona 3 movies for his personality (hence why I use his movie name).
Seeking/Offering: UMMM LITERALLY ANYTHING? He's a good listener and he's not very judgmental of others, unless we're talking, like, a really super bad and irredeemable villain type. I def want lots of cross-canon and cross-medium whenever possible, and I LOVE negative CR and crafting up player plots to do alongside main game events. I'm smut-friendly too, and I love that this game doesn't have any kind of compulsory mechanic for getting the characters to boink. Brief: Lets see... what can I say about Fionn? He was the leader of the knights of Fianna, an order of brave warriors who served the high king of Ireland. Now he's a lancer class servant hanging out in Chaldea. Until he showed up here, anyway.
He's also loud, overconfident, and utterly devoid of common sense. But also optimistic, upbeat, and friendly. Has notoriously bad luck with women. Bad luck in this case means he's an incorrigible flirt with no mouth filter who makes nothing but bad choices. And is entirely oblivious to those bad choices. He also has a bad habit of bottling up any negative emotions he might have and trying very hard to pretend they don't exist. Fun.

Seeking/Offering: He's new, so anything and everything is good. I also feel like I should apologize in advance for whoever might wind up in a bond with this idiot. He's a handful in so many ways.

More specifically, he's a witch so who wants to join him in unwise experimentation with crazy magic? You know, pushing the boundaries of what it's capable of because that's always a good idea. I mean, he doesn't have a lot of th fancy servant stuff to fight with now so... magic it is then. Basically I'm envisioning a rough arc where he uses magic recklessly, experiences some early success which only feeds into more recklessness, and then eventually everything blows up in his face. And then he has to deal with how his choices have consequences and sometimes things just are his fault. And things like that are always better with company.
