Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, check out some quests, and get hopping!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Leslie’s canon has a lot of child abuse/child death in her backstory and, while she usually avoids talking about it and I will do my best to label when she does, the way she acts makes this not subtle. If you don’t want to deal with that, or if you have any other reason to not be interested (such as not wanting to thread with a child character, which I know is a big difference from threading with an adult), please feel free to use her opt-out post. Interests: RP (of course). I read a bunch of stuff on Mangadex (dot org), Dynasty Scans, and Novelupdates, because I never really stopped my weeaboo phase. I play some video games casually. Unfortunately, Fate/Grand Order (I enjoy it but hmmm some of those character design choices hmmmm those gacha rates).

Introduction: Hi. I can’t say anything succinctly or I may die. I like apping characters who really have no business being in a particular game. This twelve year old whose magic is nerfed is probably the most competent character I’ve played in a real game in the last decade.

Character Name: Leslie (family name in legal limbo)
Canon: The Monster Duchess and Contract Princess (I like to refer to it as Momster Duchess because it makes me laugh)
Appearance: While she is 12, most people guess she’s 9-10 due to malnutrition-stunted growth (I estimate about 130 cm/4’3”). She’s no longer dangerously underweight after some time with people who actually feed her (the comic can be terrible about giving details and I can’t read the original novel, so I’m just going to say it's been a couple of weeks or so even though by what is shown explicitly it might have been under a week). Yes, her white hair and violet eyes are natural.
Brief: Unlike Æfenglōm, with its Victorian era aesthetic and common magitechnology, Leslie comes from a place with a Georgian era aesthetic and uncommon magic devices. Which means everything here is the future, zura. Also she wasn’t allowed to leave the house by her abusive birth family, so she knows basically nothing about The Real World, but she’s earnest and (mostly) friendly and polite and bright. She also has a sentient collective of shadows following her around sometimes (once she is settled in, they will also spend time under her bed), but they stick to her shadow when they do. In Aefenglom, it’s/they’re detectable by divination or just someone who is magically sensitive. I know you’ve got a problem with shadows infecting things, but she promises they’re cool. Also of note: Leslie is afraid of fire to the point that even a normal fire in s fireplace freaks her the heck out. Careful on that.
Seeking/Offering: STARES AT USERNAME okay so she won’t necessarily need a family here (she’s got an adoptive-family-to-be back home), but she does respond well to familial affection. I would also like to at least know if anyone wants to give Leslie some pointers on learning witch magic, because I can see this going one of two ways: someone gives her some pointers and she picks a reasonable class load, or no one stops her from taking every class and then three weeks later she blows something up because her attention is too scattered. Either works.

Anyway she's a cute kid who knows almost nothing about the outside world but is academically brilliant. She's always super sincere so if you want to show off to her or be a big damn hero for this child who can't do magic anymore/yet but still has everyone in her canon worrying she's going to snap a limb if she falls wrong, she's generally an easy audience. I'm usually down to try most things other than the sex-friendly part of the game. Let's tag and see where this goes.

I'm Kim and I play Newt here. I feel like they'd do well interacting with each other. Newt is a wizard from his own canon and he's a Witch in Aefenglom so he's definitely available for teaching magic.

He's also particularly well traveled back home so if she wants plenty of stories, he has plenty to offer. Although, she might just spend long amounts of time listening to Newt ramble about animals since that is his passion.

I mean, she was pretty fascinated by just getting to see TREES. UP CLOSE!! in the TDM dream, so talking about animals will be something she'll be interested in. We'll see if it keeps up after a few hours BUT AT LEAST INITIALLY SHE'S INTO THIS IDEA.

Thank you for the welcome! And for the availability for teaching magic. Please at least stop this small child from overworking herself to collapse. She's had literally one day of lessons from a tutor who is not a terrible person at this canon point so she doesn't know how to pace herself properly when everything is available.

I am 200% down for that!! Magic buddies are cool, and also my heart grows three sizes every time Leslie gets someone to give her the love and care she deserves. She will be extraordinarily grateful to get a big sis who isn’t The Worst Human and responds very well to love and care. And you probably won’t need to worry about this one getting eaten by zombies! Always a plus.

Well that fireplace thing is an interesting bit Hubert's going to discover in accident. In the winter months, it's been going (at some level) almost constantly because his familiar's cold blooded. His bad.

And Hubert doesn't use evocation often, but when he does, it's totally fire. And usually just a little flame for light or warmth in his lab

Hi Yosie, and welcome to the game! I was real interested in tossing Henry at you because wow, what is it with Fire Emblem and mistreating all of their white-haired characters? Sure does seem like a thing! I could go on about the facets of Henry's personality that interacting with a character like Leslie could bring out, but suffice to say that I think he could find himself liking her more than just his usual "I like everyone" thing. When interacting with characters who are younger than him (or, uh, future kids? Welcome To Fire Emblem), Henry ends up acting like maximum dorky dad, complete with the bad jokes and being dedicated to their safety.

Henry would be able to teach her magic for sure — he's been here for over half a year at this point. He would be likely to teach her anything in the field of Abjuration or Evocation, but probably not Necromancy. Henry's weird, but he doesn't want to endanger kids.

Hello there! I'm Sam, and I play this pink grump (Kaede) as a prickly Chimera. She also had a pretty horrifically traumatizing childhood, she Gets It. She just...took the murderous option instead, oops.

Normally kids in Leslie's age range make her uneasy (see: bad childhood experiences with bullies), but Leslie is disarming enough and reminds Kaede a little bit of herself (pre-murder) at that age that she wouldn't immediately avoid the very threatening tiny child.

Fun fact: one of Kaede's Chimera abilities lets her turn into a shadowmonster for awhile, so she'll be very interested in Leslie's shadow amoeba.
