Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, and get hopping! And if this looks a little different than the usual OOC Intro, that's because it is: we've made the executive decision to combine it and the CR meme.

Anyway, to help get this all started, we've got a nifty form for everyone to fill out! Feel free to put this into two separate comments if you'd like, or just keep it to one - it's your choice.

Appearance: A tall young man with a shitton of freckles and dirty blonde hair. He very much looks like a swimmer, a lot of lean muscle and that kind of thing. His hair is a constant mess, looks like he just walk off a windy boat at all times, and periodically he will just show up to places being soaking wet because he went and jumped in the ocean or something.
Brief: Paris is the child of a human woman and the spirit of the ocean, so he does a lot of Water Stuff. He's kind of shy and very much a doormat, who doesn't expect to be treated nicely and generally has a low opinion of humans as a general population, however if you're nice to him he will follow you around like a devoted puppy. He's... really naive, but actually used to being incredibly powerful so having his powers stripped is going to alarm him for a while.
Choice: Merrow! He will specifically be manifesting as a clearfin lionfish. He will be so happy about it.
Plans: I have no plans, really. XD Uuuh I want Paris to work at a bakery??? That's about all I've got... he might also sign up for mundane quests to feel helpful until he finds a job doing that.
Other Notes: He has a spirit companion named Aeto who is basically a guard dog for him. I'm also more than happy to keep any TDM threads!

Seeking: Pretty much anything at this point? Friends who actually care, friends who pretend to care, people to take advantage of him, people to try and teach him how to avoid that and/or look after him, bullies, flirtation, all of it.
Offering: God I never know what to put for this part. Paris absolutely expects abuse from people and will not react to it if your character wants someone to pick on. Alternatively, the most loyal friend in the world who would do anything for you if you manage to befriend him. Which isn't really hard, just be nice.
Not Interested: TBH I... can't think of anything? hmu with anything!!

Brief: A 19 year old captain who was on the wrong side of the war, and who deserves better :V I mean she is a horrible person due to her situation, but. Raised to see might as the only thing important, she slaughtered Ala Mhigans - of which she was one - for the evil empire. (Well, it's complex. Garlemald does evil things but then there's weird shadow people and. I could sit here explaining FFXIV for hours.)
Choice: Chimera
Plans: Please help this angery lady get friends. And figure out how to be friendly. And handle her changes into a griffin-like beast.
Other Notes: Note she will be very... well, rude to beasts. Also for those canon familiar, her Resonant has been fully nerfed. Luckily the poor lady won't be always feeling the emotions of others. Her canon point? Between 4.0 and 4.1, so she's. Poor jail lady who never even got a little respect from Ala Mhigans.

Also, while she might get involved with plot stuff, I'm taking getting back into RP slowly.

Seeking: Friendly CR, even if she's a rude brat at times. I am up for negative CR, but I don't want that to be all she has? She needs friends, like woah. I do plan on her trying to get a bodyguard job, or self-employing herself that way, to try and bring some normalcy to this situation.
Offering: If you manage to get past her anger and rudeness, Fordola is a loyal lady who'll protect your character no matter what. Also, you need an annoying menace? I can go with that.
Not Interested: Super negative CR, like 'i am going to murder fordola in her sleep' sort of CR. I also don't see shippy stuff happening if we pre-plan it? I tend to go with the flow with that. I do want to get her a Witch bond, but! We'll see how it goes, hm?

Brief: Izuku is a nerd, fairly friendly and very curious and also semi-awkward...he has a lot of nerves and a lot of feelings but he always does his best and he's going to be very much trying to figure things out and help people out! He's kind of nosy in that way heroes have to be, but he always means well so please be his friend, thank you.

Plans: He's going to LEARN MAGIC and take way too many notes on it, and want to learn all about monsters, and he will definitely be doing some quests! The ones I'm interested in so far are: Part-timers (Undermael College), Internship Deal (Glassblowing), Mrs. Mittens, District Clean-up, and Gardening With Class - which is like, all of them. PLEASE hit me up if you'd like to do one of these with Izuku! I'd love to plan these out and thread them out, and I'm very much wanting to jump in feet first here planning wise.
Other Notes: I'm interested in both plot and character relationships - Izuku will be interested in both of those as well, trying to make friends as he tries to figure things out.

Seeking: I'm mostly looking for initial friendships and the like right now! In terms of Bonds, I'd rather have a few threads between characters so we see how they click before we decide on them, although I'm open to doing the temporary bonds and/or keeping you in mind if you'd like to explore the possibility! Ideally he'll have bond partners who encourage him and who he can support to the best of his abilities, though. Let him be your hype man.

Appearance: Justine is described as 'slender and scrumptious' by Harry. She has long lean legs and is about 5' 4" without heels. Her face is lovely and sweet, often described as looking like the-girl-next-door. Her hair is raven black and long, falling in waves when it's able to lay freely.

Her eyes are dark hazel though it's hard to determine their color outside of dark when looking at her from far away. Her skin is pale but lovely and lively. She's unconsciously beautiful with a figure that "entices sin". She has an hour glass shape and anything she wears she wears well.

Brief: Notes on Justine here.
Choice: Witch.
Plans: I don't really have plans. I'd like to get Justine meeting people and building CR. She's personable and charming but very slow to trust. She has a rather traumatic history. I will likely look to getting her a job and having her freak out about the witch thing. Her world has these things and she shouldn't... so it's very alarming. Justine will also likely freak out at some point, if someone wants to handle that.
Other Notes: I am a fan of everything. I'd like to get Justine invested so that she can do more exploration things because she isn't inclined to do that. I ship everything in my head because shipping is fun. I do want her to have family as well as people willing to help her. Negative CR is cool too.

Seeking: Roommates? Or some way to establish some CR. I don't like planning things to far in advance but I'd like for Justine to be saved or try and help and suck at it. I definitely like trying different things so come at me!!!

Appearance: Here is his current appearance! He's often mistaken for a girl, too, so it's fine if your character makes that mistake. It's usually not a big deal for him since he's used to it. I know I have icons from when he was younger too, but he's too busy angsting to make proper faces so I am limited on choices here!
Brief: The last member of his clan which were a people who have eyes that turn bright scarlet when emotionally agitated! He's out for revenge against the group that killed them. He's super smart, calm and rational... until it comes to that revenge mission, at which point he can lose all self control and go angry crazy. Uhh gosh I don't know, if you want to see the cheesiest 30 second trailer for him that makes me laugh every time there's this. Eye puns...
Choice: Witch!
Plans: Definitely jumping straight into learning magic! Kurapika is very efficient and great at learning and will be aggressively cramming books for months, so if anyone is looking for a Good Partner to study magic with, it's definitely him. Alsoooo he's very Active in trying things and getting involved, so I'd love to do quests! Aside from that, it depends entirely how events and CR in the game goes, so I'll see from there!
Other Notes: Kurapika is the type that wants to grab onto every bit of plot he can, so I'm hoping to be involved with getting him into game direction and so on, but he also could really use some friends and connections! Depending on how his CR goes will affect his mental state, and his physical health, honestly, so I'm very eager to see how it all goes.

Seeking: Study partners, people serious about things/plot, people he can mom friend at, people he can protect, people who can please look out for him and make sure he doesn't die overworking himself, and if anyone is arachne I'm super interested just because he has a Rage Trigger with spiders. I would love to see if relationship type things are possible, but you'd have to get past a lot for that.
Offering: He's great as a mom friend type, but also as someone who can shut down idiots and smarty-pants sarcasm at people while growing fond of them. He's a good teacher and tends to explain everything even if you don't ask him, he has a very kind heart and though he's not trusting he will open up to people with enough time around them!

Interests: I'm a little bit of a gym rat, but I try not to let that really take up a lot of my commentary. Into a whole lot of fandoms, although recently I've been devouring Ann Leckie's Imperial Radch trilogy. Big fan of Star Trek and Star Wars, into the new She-Ra, was into Avatar: TLA and LOK back in the day, enjoy Steven Universe. I've also been following Killing Eve (which is fab). Very much into Tolkien as well. My daily plurk conversations tend to be about whatever's topical and I try to be pretty laid back. Aubrey-Maturin novels are also on my list of cool canons.

Dabbled in Fate for a while and many other anime canons (Evangelion, yeeee), but I haven't watched anything super new in a few years.

Brief: Iramaat is a fae knight (or claims to be a knight), who claims she's here to help. She's actually rather self-centered, borderline narcissistic and incredibly manipulative. She sees herself as the heroine of her own, unfolding story, and so the world must support her. Even if she has to twist it to make it fit (or ignore things she doesn't particularly like).
Choice: Monster - Faun
Plans: I'd ideally like her to learn to be a better person in the long run. Without her fae powers/nigh immortality to help her sort of skate by, she might actually have to rely on people instead of using them. Especially since with bonds and a smaller community, her usual trick of just moving on to the next place isn't really going to do her much good...
Other Notes: Very much into CR! I can dabble in slice of life and plot both, although Iramaat is likely to go hounding off after adventure, regardless if it's connected to the main storyline or not. She'll facilitate other peoples actions, but only if it will eventually come back to her - or get her something she wants or if it puts someone in her debt.

She will also happily take lovers or form romances, but... again. It will not be healthy or fun, at least until Iramaat learns to be a better person.

Seeking: Negative and positive CR; she's drawn to people who have problems she thinks she can help "fix" or people vulnerable to her particular brand of charm. She will absolutely take advantage of the naive. Potential henchpeople if someone really wants to help her out. Potential lovers and friends, which will probably turn sour at some point down the line. If someone has the patience of a saint, someone willing to try and help Iramaat figure out that she can't really be like this all her life (she'll probably have to hit rock bottom at some point).

Offering: A showboaty sort who's actually quite handy in a pinch if you can learn how to play off of her own narcissistic tendencies. A manipulator if people are interested in unhealthy relationships. A potential antagonist for negative CR. A fair-weather friend.

Not Interested: Open to just about anything at this stage, really!

Brief: A literal ray of sunshine. Bubbly and kindhearted, she isn't a stranger to using magic, even if she has to keep her natural talents a secret to the people around her back home. Despite the fact that there are some very dark moments in her past, she still manages to somehow stay surprisingly upbeat. Expect her to be curious about everyone and everything. It's all so new and exciting! And terrifying! And exciting!!
Choice: I went with Witch for her, since it's closest to what she is in canon.
Plans: SHRUG EMOJI I'm going to take things relatively as they come in the short-term, but long-term I would love to have her not only have to work to learn to use magic differently, but also see what happens when you throw a mage into a world that actually accepts magic. Also bonds. Lux is going to be so conflicted about bonds, and probably a bit cagey about opening up at first. She's going to have no idea what to do with any of this, and I'm excited to see how she develops.
Other Notes: No IC notes, but as an OOC aside, I work full-time, so there may be days when I'm not able to tag as frequently either due to work deadlines or general fatigue. I try to communicate with people about that if I know ahead of time.

Seeking: Friends for this girl. Please. Her best friend for the longest time was a horse. I'm also up for bonds for her, although I'll need to see how that shakes out.
Offering: Does someone want a bright optimist to pal around with? WELL I'VE GOT THE GIRL FOR YOU. Also someone who understands the basic concepts of magic, even if the exact execution doesn't quite translate over.

Choice: ochako is a witch! partly because learning magic will be a real challenge for her, but also because supporting other people is just... what she does. she WILL befriend as many monsters as she can!!
Plans: well, dipping her toes into magic is going to be interesting? she's not going to have any real idea what type of magic she wants to focus on, so she'll spend some time reading (bleh) and talking to other people about what they're planning/thinking. quest-wise, though, i'm thinkin... part-timers (cat's eye), mrs. mittens, district clean-up (helping calm people down, finding valuables), gardening with class (!!!👀!!!), and that's about it? but i'm ALWAYS open to other ideas!!
Other Notes: she has a bad habit of laughing when she probably shouldn't... sorry in advance if she spits all over any super serious characters? honestly.

Seeking: this is lame, i know, but i'm looking for... anything and everything! ochako is a social butterfly, so she'll want to make as many friends as she possibly can. come be her magic study buddy, because good lord, she's going to need some serious help. :') i don't have any plans for bonds at this stage in the game, but we can always throw our characters together and see how they click!

Introduction: A 24-year-old (25 on the 26th!) self-styled goth dude from San Francisco and former VR game QA tester whose interests and likes apart from the above include painting, fashion, cooking, animals, annnnnd etcetera, to be frank. However, I mostly Plurk about RP and vidya and with shares of whatever music I'm listening to or occasional random funny/slightly-interesting things that happen during the day, with an odd RL update here or there!

Character Name: Lucas Baker
Canon: Resident Evil
Appearance: Link!
Brief: Engineering prodigy and NEET eldest child of a good ol' quiet Louisiana bayou family who were turned into a Texas Chainsaw-style cannibal clan by a mind-altering disease - who himself went off-the-grid hobbyist trap master/death puzzle enthusiast and part time mad scientist and black market dabbler. Lucas has a strong mechanical brilliance; a high-energy playful nature; infamous-Roman-emperor-level nasty, self-indulgent, and egomaniacal streaks each a couple miles wide; a petty at best and outright sadistic at worst sense of humor; and, as the TFLN goes, all the grace of a fucking hippo and the emotional maturity of a five-year-old.
Choice: Vampire!
Plans: For now, limited to him getting used to the setting and enjoying the freedom that comes with living out from under his family's wing way too much - chances are, he's going to be thrilled by the prospect of monster changes, but also... kind of overestimate himself given that he's losing his canon regeneration capabilities.
Other Notes: I am all about focusing on character dynamics/mutual influences and networks of relationships as well as characters kind of... making their own lives/"adventures" and finding their own niches in settings, though I'm definitely one for plot participation, too! I'm also down for positive CR, thoroughly negative CR, and everything in between!

Heads-up, also, that he comes from a canon with loads of themes like body horror, cannibalism, torture, and medical experimentation; and, well... he's one of the villains of the installment. If you'd rather a particular subject not come up in a thread or if you'd rather I keep Lucas away from your characters for any reason at all, please, feel free to comment to his opt-out post here - comments are screened!

Seeking: I'm game for playing things by ear - I tend to find Lucas fun to bounce off of most characters! I'm also definitely looking to Bond 'im at some point - and off that note, the best pair-up for him would likely be either someone who's just as much of a destructive mess as he is, a "playmate"/person to overgrown-teen-style get wild with to contrast his darker side (which, I mean, in the same way a crescent moon has a dark side, I suppose), a shifty "business partner", someone who has patience for his bullshit and manages to maintain his, or some combination thereof.
Offering: Lucas is a gleeful and theatrical bully; a prankster who only cares if he thinks it's funny; and a great big fan of riddles, watching other people squirm, and trying to unsettle, confuse, or otherwise get a rise out of others (as long as he's not too open to retaliation!), make of that what you will - his pride's also easily bruised and I am always game for his... you know, being the way he is to bite him in the ass! Brief: Newt Scamander is a wizard from the wizarding world and precedes Harry Potter; helping in the capture of the first dark wizard, Grindelwald. Newt is a magizoologist and is the authority of everything magizoology. He's socially awkward and uncomfortable in social situations with people. He has a preference to creatures than people. He's a Hufflepuff though and fiercely loyal and has strong morals in which he'll do just about anything if it's the right thing to do. He breaks a lot of laws because of this, just so you know.
Choice: Witch. I'm boring and had him go witch, but I find that it would be more befitting for him to continue to be a practitioner of magic. His interests and experiences with monsters should help with interacting with those who went with monsters.
Plans: I'm really aiming for Newt to open up better to people and to become more comfortable with people! I specifically want him to be physically more comfortable with physical contact, as he seems to struggle a lot with physical intimacy in particular (he's shown being awkward just hugging his own brother, okay). Other than that, my aim is to have him really dig into relearning magic and observing others and their changes and recording them.
Other Notes: Newt is arriving with three creatures; Pickett the bowtruckle, the Zouwu, and his niffler. So...have fun with that. I'm happy to keep TDM threads going and/or making them canon!

Seeking: Everything! We are all new and shiny and being released into the wild. Other Notes: Like I said earlier I'm big on lighthearted silly RP involving him making friends, but wouldn't be against a little fluffy romance if any other characters around his age would want to dabble in that eventually! He's not as nervous around girls as he was a year ago, but still hasn't done anything SCANDALOUS like hand holding or k-k-kissing! I'm down with this kind of stuff with boys too, as I could see him not caring about gender once he bonds with someone. She's a big goof, but the fact remains that she was once an able military leader known for being brutal--so who knows what she might be thinking? She's sociable enough but... unpredictable is probably the word I would use.

Plans: Nothing too particular at this point, I'm largely feeling things out as mentioned before, but I would like to see if Nobunaga can start making powerful connections of some sort. Not necessarily to put herself in a position of leadership, but just in case things ever get messy. Oftentimes, it comes off as "I'm saying no but nodding my head"; he won't directly admit it, but he does like companionship from time to time. Also, he has three hamsters in his muffler and he cares more about animals than you.

Plans: Right now I'm excited to see how he reacts to going through the changes of becoming a vampire, and having to deal with the fact that he might actually end up being a monster like he always told people he was. Long-term plans are still open.
Other Notes: because of his nature, he doesn't really make friends easily. make friends with him. if you're nice, he'll teach you about animals maybe.

Brief: Hailing from a family that styles themselves after vampires due to a strange condition that gives them the traits of such a creature of a night, minus any of the cool perks of being one, Ritsu's a brilliant-and-lazy idol from the unit Knights. He's generally unsociable, claiming he doesn't like to interact with people, but he's the type of person who gets lonely easily... and doesn't like to be alone, honestly. He gets attached to others pretty easily for someone who "doesn't like others," freely giving people nicknames as he pleases, and believes fully in family being the people who raise you up, blood-related or not. Her day job is being Medieval James Bond but with none of the seduction; doing favors, lies, threats, blackmail, and theft are her preferred methods of persuasion. Sometimes you gotta steal people, sometimes you gotta kill em.

Plans: Will Nel succeed in trying to lie and stealthily manipulate her way back home to her queen? Absolutely Not. She's gonna try to keep herself both indispensable and under the radar, though, and that means establishing connections and allies. Nel will obsessively begin to train in this new form of magic, being something of a gifted spellcaster under normal circumstances.
Other Notes: She killed (helped kill) "god" and will likely think this is all just another big dick move by another "god". Nel is going to sniff around for ways of contacting, uh, higher powers. To talk.

You already know this but ahhh, our TDM thread has a been a ton of fun and I'm looking forward to being able to continue it! Nel fits well into Yako's general friend type of 'can shiv a bitch without blinking' (why does Yako have so many of that type) and I'd look forward to seeing how the Grumpy and Cheery dynamic plays out more long term (and Yako could use the help with the magic, considering her motivation for studying mostly exists when food is involved).

Unfortunately this means jack 'til he figures out how to cast magic that he wasn't born with.

Plans: Mikleo is going to dive hardcore into learning magic. First he's going to focus on getting some mastery of evocation (read: water) magic back, and then his healing, so he can at least heal people who get hurt.
Other Notes: Mikleo isn't human, which means little at this point in time except he's more susceptible to corruption than a normal person. On his world, corrupted seraphim turn into dragons (and humans turn into monsters) so that's... uh... a thing. A thing he's gonna have to work through. Ooofff.

Seeking: Monsters to support, witches to learn with and learn from. Mikleo is at a pretty stable canon point and he's friendly, and also not invisible like he'd be in other games, so that's a plus.
