Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, and get hopping! And if this looks a little different than the usual OOC Intro, that's because it is: we've made the executive decision to combine it and the CR meme.

Anyway, to help get this all started, we've got a nifty form for everyone to fill out! Feel free to put this into two separate comments if you'd like, or just keep it to one - it's your choice.

Brief: Dylas is a man who used to be a giant unicorn monster. He woke up without any memories of what he'd been doing after being defeated in that form, and proceeds to become the horse-tailed tsundere in a farming romance game. He has a fishing obsession, he works as a waiter/cashier, he fights monsters, what can't he do! Make friends, apparently, because he's from a canon point where he's still grumpy and hasn't gotten his memories back. He's a loser who canonically doesn't know how to smile and
Choice: Faun! I'm not sure if I'm going to go with bull features and kind of a semi-minotaur look or if I'm going to go full-on deer-taur of some kind, both are super tempting to me. It's a tough choice.
Plans: "i don't need a bond" [goes feral] is pretty much where I'm at right now. He's just going to want to find work and figure out his emotions about things. Being told he's 'a Monster' is weird, okay? He's emotionally constipated and wants to fight or work instead of think.
Other Notes: None that I can think of. Neighs seductively, etc.

Seeking: Dylas is prickly from his current canonpoint, so I'm going to be really hoping to find him positive CR! Whether that's people who insist on putting up with him and getting him flustered, rivalries, fighting buddies, fishing buddies, the sky's the limit. Bonds will have to happen eventually, but he's totally going feral because why would he need them!!!
Offering: Do you like fishing? Dylas is obsessed with fishing. He's a good conversation partner for that. He also has a little experience in cooking, and he knows about monsters and dragons and stuff from his own world. He can be a good person to bicker with/form rivalries with. He can be a friend who punches things with you. But also he's an idiot, and he's a prude which sucks for him because he's a faun. That's what's on offer.
Not Interested: Dylas is good for negative CR. But when I say that, I mean of the 'ugh, it's you again, let's stand here and bicker a little' variety. I'm not looking for overly hateful or spiteful negative CR, if that makes sense? He's a jerk, but he's also from a game that's mostly comedic, and he's the tsundere, so...I want CR that goes places.

He's so fluffy, whoa. :0 Yako probably hasn't much to offer in the bickering department, but she's someone who's unlikely to be put off by prickliness (and she has minimal fishing experience but great luck and would cook up whatever Dylas fishes up) so there could be some CR there.

Choice: Monster roulette chose Chimera, though I am deciding what the animal parts will be. And she's going to need help regarding her metal skeleton and cyborg parts when she changes...
Plans: Trying to either be comfortable in the city (ha) or survive outside it (also ha). Experiencing what it's like to not be in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, like having new clothes that no one else has ever worn and fresh, not-200-years-old canned food. Freaking out because she thinks she's mutating due to radiation.
Other Notes: Dogmeat came with her and is Best Dog. I'd love to keep TDM threads! Also, she has a Pip-Boy on her wrist which still has some working options and the potential for upgrades...

Brief: Clark is an actual, off-world alien with a very hometown outlook on life. He's loyal, altruistic, and all that good guy stuff, with a strong streak of stubborn and a little sass thrown in, because Clark embraces life and all of its facets. He just likes being normal in all of its messy glory. He can be a bit territorial and too straightforward, but he does learn from his mistakes.
Choice: Dragon
Plans: I really want to work on Clark growing and learning how to handle not being Superman or strictly Clark in game. It'll be hard for him, because he is extremely attached to being human and not being human or Kryptonian anymore will be a shock for him. I'd like to slow burn him coming to terms with that and learning how to best dragon for the good of all, also learning new limitations and making some solid CR to help him out.
Other Notes: I'll gladly keep TDM threads or start new things.

Seeking: All the platonic CR. Positive or negative. Clark needs to make some friends and grow in aef, so I'm up for challenges and good times. I'd like to make create a net of people he can go to for advice or help as he transitions into the world and also ways he can help in return. People to do normal magic things with?
Offering: A big dork to get into trouble and to help save the day. A novice with magic that needs guidance. A really big, probably awkward monster for a bit as he learns to monster. A good, supportive friend and a sassy defender if the occasion arises.

Appearance: Tall, dark and handsome with a smile that kills! Zack has jet black hair that is wild and thick and mostly slicked back. He has bright mako-infused blue-green eyes and an even complexion. He stands at 6’4” and has a muscular build and looks like he does squats every day. He has a cross shaped scar on his left cheek and various other small scars across his body from years of fighting. He likes to wear black and blue clothing.
Brief: Zack is a chemically enhanced super solider who wants to follow his dreams and be a hero. He’s upbeat, hardworking, reliable, positive and easy-going. He can be hard on himself at times but also a strong send of self. He tries hard to believe in things greater than himself and wants to protect people who can’t protect themselves. He’s a big dumb jock who is a lot like an eager puppy.
Choice: Chimera! Zack will be spliced between a wolf, hawk and ram.
Plans: Monster changes will be the big focus in the beginning with Zack dealing with having wings when they’re a sore spot in his life back home. Also adjusting to wolf dominant traits that will be hard on his body as they conflict with his ram traits. He’s going to have a hard time with the changes and how people will look at him since he’s not used to not being accepted. He’ll be looking for bonds with people he can trust fairly quickly in order to calm some of his monstrous tendency.
Other Notes: I'm looking to drop most of my TDM threads in favor of the intro coming up but if anyone wants to continue please let me know! And if you'd like to keep it game canon!

Seeking: Just like everyone else I’m really looking forward to making new CR! Friends and people that Zack can trust and rely on and help in return. Also friends around his age that he can hang out and get drinks with. People to explore the new city with and get things going! Fellow monster friends that he can relate to about body changes sucking. Cat-friends that his dog side can BARK AT.

She's the kind of person who really enjoys making people miserable. She likes being mean, enjoys messing with people and picking at sore spots, and she’s just really really selfish and really really manipulative. Obviously she is a bit more complex than that, what with her emotionally abusive upbringing and all, but she's not interested in being a complex person.
And if she does help you out, it's not because she likes you or anything!!!
Choice: Witch
Plans: I’m really interested in playing Catra in a setting where the Horde has absolutely no presence, and to see what trouble she can get into. I chose her being a witch because she’s already monster girl lite, but also because her sole mother-figure is a powerful sorceress and having magic reminiscent of hers is bound to make Catra feel Complicated. But that isn’t to say she’s not going to take advantage of having magical abilities...

Brief: tl;dr for canonblind folks is that he's just a very sad depressed elf boy who lives in the snow who has been thoroughly screwed over by his own life choices and the society he lives in, but for the most part he will not saddle you with his existential dread if you don't ask; most characters will probably just think of him as a nice young man who talks a little Ye Olde and is very dumb with modern slang

Choice: dragon! he'll be an ice dragon to be specific, prone to being a lonely recluse
Plans: he is going to have a very bad time with his transformation both in terms of pain and the fact that becoming a dragon is just about the most disgusting thing that could happen to him, so... after going about his business and getting settled (and ineffectually trying to hide the signs of his transformation) he's probably going to hole himself up in his house and, like, refuse to come out. quite active on networks because what the hell else is he gonna do with his life. that'll be in a few months, though; for now he's just really unhappy about being here.
Other Notes: he can provide free air conditioning if you need it

• friends???? he will be very awkward about calling it a friendship though (don't ask, he had exactly one friend so clearly he cannot have any more), but yes, i'd love for him to develop some relationships with people he is more or less fond of! he's good with most friendly types, protective when it comes to young women, etc etc

• music buddies? as long as you don't mind the fact that he is very Ye Olde so his sense of music is not at all modern and instead is very adventure-fantasy mixed with some religious hymns or something. but he does love music and can get very excited about it, and will be happy to learn about yours
• people to... worry about him... lmskjdhf look he's absolutely going to reject his dragon body and need a lot of help okay. you don't have to make sure he goes to the coven for treatment or anything just make sure he gets some food like once every two days or something
• some kind of battle mentor would be nice? he will be very bad at it, but i think it would be cool for him to learn to use his monster powers for good!! he will prefer to fight in a humanoid form more so than to actually learn to control his big dragon form but i'm flexible about what kind of fighting style he learns — if your character knows how to fight with a sword or martial arts or something and would be willing to teach him that'd be cool!

• i'm not looking to jump into instant ships! (but i applaud those of you who are powerful enough to do it!! also he doesn't generally see anyone under 6'4" as a romantic partner i'm sorry he's a size queen look he's 6'7" and he's average for his race.) that said, romantic tension or awkward flirting is totally fine, but he is super gay so there won't be any feelings on his part for women! he is however fine with gentlemanly things like kissing your hand and dancing with you etc
• this is not a hard no, but i'm also not looking for extremely negative cr! passive-aggressive intellectual debates and general dislike is fine, but stagnant and repetitive arguments aren't my jam, also at this canon point francel tends to walk away from people who are constantly starting fights so it's just not gonna go many places. if your character is the comically aggressive type they're absolutely free to bark at him a couple of times though.

Choice: Turnskin! An ocelot... no creativity here, people. But he's got the cat-like behavior to back it up.
Plans: Going to have to bully some of your characters!!! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. No real plans though.
Other Notes: Miiiiiight possibly canon-update him to MGSV-Ocelot someday.

Seeking: Negative and positive CR both appreciated! Though with him, it could be a strong mix of both. He can both want to shoot someone and like them VERY MUCH. One unlucky person might even become an object of obsession for him. And frankly, if someone wants to humiliate or tease him, that's a thumbs up from me. I'm up for writing smut if the CR is right.

Appearance: Clarke through the seasons. She'll be coming in with her S4 appearance.
Brief: Clarke's the other half of a coleading team of delinquents that were originally sent to an irradiated Earth to see if it was hospitable for (what was assumed to be) the last of the human race. A Lot Of Shit has gone down in the five seasons since then, but Clarke still does her best to lead (even if she does it super poorly) and tries to put the survival of her people at the forefront of everything she does (again, even if done poorly). She's arriving in Aef after spending about two months by herself, so she'll be very glad to see other people existing in the world.
Choice: Witch.
Plans: I'm super excited for Clarke to learn magic? And to meet new people! As above, she's spent two months completely alone with half of her family in an underground bunker, and the other half up in space, if they didn't die from radiation poisoning. (Yikes, right?) So making new friends is my main plan right now because Clarke's in dire need of social interaction??
Other Notes: Clarke has black blood that prevents radiation from killing her so lol any vampires are in for an Interesting Surprise if they ever try to feed from her, js.

Seeking: GIMMIE FRIENDSHIPS PLEASE. Also Clarke literally turns into the Mom Friend by the start of season 5 so like, let her mom your younger characters, probably. I'm not really looking to have her Bond with anyone yet, but also not against the idea; let's see where CR goes!

Appearance: L is a young mixed-race human male of 25. He's startlingly pale with shaggy, straight black hair and dark grey saucer-eyes that look overlarge and childish. His heritage is a quarter English, Japanese, Russian, and "French or Italian", and he presents as caucasian with some finer and more androgynous features and a narrower, smaller build than most men. He stands at 5'10" but weighs a wasted 110 pounds; this results in a rangy, fragile-looking appearance that makes him resemble a scrawny teenager more than an adult man. His spine is curved forward, giving him a perpetual slouch and making him look shorter than he is by a couple of inches. L is not pretty, hot or sexy; he was conceived and drawn as someone unattractive, tired and pathetic-looking to make him a more striking foil for Light. His features clash awkwardly rather than existing gracefully and in harmony. He has no eyebrows.
Brief: L's an orphan prodigy who grew up to the be the world's greatest detective. He has a tendency toward eccentricities like sitting oddly in a crouching posture, eating a lot of sweets, and displaying broadly terrible social skills; all of this can belie his brilliance, but trust me, guys, he's really smart and stuff. He's a troglodyte who is used to operating under pseudonyms and concealing his identity; he doesn't go out in public much and has a hard time relating to other people. Part of this is because he's spent so much time in isolation, and part of it is because he's just kind of an arrogant dick. L's last case was the Kira investigation, in which he was pursuing a serial killer who was using a magic notebook to murder people; though he was pretty smug and confident at the beginning of this case, at the canon point he comes from, he's had a considerable amount of that punched out of him. He's questioning a lot of things, but in Aefenglom, who knows what's in store?

Plans: So far, I know that I want L to have a real talent for divination and suck at healing. I know that since he manages to thrive within existing systems in spite of his idiosyncrasies, I'd like him to work with the Coven toward their goal, after an initial adjustment period (because he's gonna be shook.)
Other Notes: I can be a little slow sometimes. I'm a working mom and I'm parenting toddlers. But I want to get involved in as much as I can and be a steady presence in this game even if I can't always boomerang. I tend to tl;dr to an excruciating degree, partly because I'm the insecure windbag type of L player, but if we're tagging, please do not feel any pressure to match length. I'll play with anyone, I love writing, and I'm pretty good at finding a balance after a few tags have kind of set the tone for a thread.

Seeking: Pretty much everything! I have a very odd, idiosyncratic and sort of abrasive character, but I'm down for positive and negative CR. I love petty stuff. I love silly semantic arguments. I love threads that start bristly and end up kind of sweet, or reaching an understanding that was unexpected but ultimately signifies growth and experience. I like rival and nurturer dynamics a lot for L; these are two pieces of CR that he tends to click really well with. Ships are difficult to play with him, but I'm open to the possibility if it's given the time and care to establish plausibly (hateships are much easier but because of how arrogant he is, he has high standards for his charged and heated rivals). I live for CR with anyone who is VERY outwardly friendly and kind of pushy who urges him toward new experiences he might not seek out on his own, and I'm obsessed with CR that challenges him and lets me showcase the kind of skills and insights he displays in canon (which can be difficult to draw out in mundane and cordial surface interactions.) MOSTLY, regardless of the type of CR, I want long-term arcs that you're open to developing over months and maybe even years.
Offering: A weird collection of inherent contradictions who is difficult to get along with, but a useful ally once you've gained his trust. A very interesting person whose intellectual conversations just might be worth that spiny outer layer. A fetally coiled ball of issues that are hidden behind a very placid exterior. A lonely soul who does crave human connection, but has a chip on his shoulder that is somehow both self-deprecating and really elitist.

Long story short, he now has some modicum of maturity grown through the ordeal, a fresh appreciation for big burly men, PTSD, and no cup.

Plans: Nothing exact yet but some ideas! Though Waver won't be a magus in this world, he'll still have a significant interest in how the magic of this new place works, and what is afflicting it. Potentially, I'd like to have him learn more about the Cwyld and try to study it. He'll be struggling with not being a mage at all, even though he's never been a particularly good one. All of his goals and dreams in his life back home were centered around that, so having something so vital change completely -- along with the change of worlds, obviously -- is really gonna throw him for a loop. I'm also pretty hype to play with the bonds eventually!

Other Notes: seriously, he doesn't know how to dress for his age. he wears corduroy pants and a tie to a school with no dress code. fashion advice desperately needed.

Seeking: Currently? Everything!! Waver's never been particularly good at making friends on his own, so people who would force their friendship upon him are great. Appearance: Please, someone mistake him for a sheepdog Turnskin because that would be funny as hell.
Brief: Riku is... a bit of a mess. Previously a rather prideful, competitive kid, his actions lead to the destruction of his home world, got body-napped by a Big Bad, and nearly destroyed his whole universe. His best friend was the one to set everything right and reverse most of the destruction, but Riku was left with the near crushing guilt of what he had done. As such, he basically went from being competitive, jealous and prideful to being a very protective but unsure and quiet individual who would do anything and everything for his friends. To say he's still got some issues to work out is a bit of an understatement, but he'll slowly come to accept the idea of forgiving himself for what he's done. Baby steps.
Choice: Witch!
Plans: Not a whole lot is set in stone right now. One of the biggest things that I want to do is explore study nerd witch boy Riku. This world has left his a little defenseless compared to what he's used to, so he'll likely be trying to absorb anything and everything about magic. Bonds will be something he'll keep in the back of his mind only, given that his self-worth is still very low at this point. I'd love for him to experience a magic overload due to him not having immediate bonds and maybe learning that having them means self-care (which is also something he sucks at).
Other Notes: This is a KH2 Riku, so he's not quite the same as DDD/KH3 Riku. I may look at canon updating in the future, but for now, you get a hobo-hair!ku.

Offering: A very protective and bit of a sarcastic friend that often times doesn't take the best care in himself. Riku also gets flustered rather easily, so if someone wants to tease or flirt with him for fun that could be interesting. Brief: Peridot is a former (but long since reformed) villain turned Goofy Science Friend to the shows protagonists. If you're not familiar with Steven Universe at all, what you need to know is that she's a member of an alien species simply known as "Gems". The Gem Homeworld is extremely strict and operates under a rigidly managed imperialistic society, and Peridot has only been out of that setting for about a year now. Here's her app if you want a bit more detail.
Choice: Dragon!
Plans: Generally at the moment my plan is to see how she deals with being a type of monster that is apparently "rare" and "powerful" in this setting. The second she hears those words attributed to it she's probably going to start sliding into the zone of insufferable. She's very much used to having to talk herself up a whole lot because she lacks most of the standard powers that most gems come with because of ~Lore Reasons, so suddenly having all kinds of rad monster powers is going to be a huge ego boost (even if she's less than thrilled about the actual physical changes).
She'll also probably be pretty interested in studying the Cwyld. It's the sort of broad-reaching sciencey problem that she can really get behind working on, plus dragons being more susceptible to it gives her extra motivation to find a way to combat it for the sake of saving her own skin.
Other Notes:
Unless I misinterpreted something, she does have Pumpkin with her here!

Plans: There's a lot of ways Nobukatsu could go but the only thing I know is that things get worse before they get better. Long-term I'm really interested in Necromancy, but mostly I'm playing this by ear.

Brief: As a YGO protagonist, Yuma’s life revolves around card games. However, the difference with him compared to his predecessors, Yuma is actually terrible at the game. Reckless and energetic, Yuma cannot strategize to save his life, which kind of makes it very hard for him to play. That being said, he only really plays for fun; he’s not interested in making a career out of dueling and will stop dueling if it isn’t fun for him. Through his series, Yuma is exposed to Astral, who teaches him to be a little bit more patient....kind of. Yuma is a very good kid despite his reckless behavior; he will do anything for anyone if he thought he was being helpful. However, he is prone to bouts of depression and anxiety, so he can be a little bit unpredictable.
Choice: Puca! He will be leaning towards the Himalayan Rabbit because they are small!
Plans: Honestly, this is the first game I’ve been in with Yuma in a while! I want to really get him into everything I can!!
Other Notes: Yuma is pretty attached to Astral. He’s said numerous times that Astral is his everything, so it’s going to be really hard for him to want to do things without Astral (they have been separated for a bit before their arrival).

She was forced to marry his uncle, but during his marriage she escaped on a boat and ended up at her crazy aunt. In the meantime she lost both her mother and eldest brother, and her sister went missing the day her father was executed. Hidden away, she stayed under the tutelage of a shady guy who was once in love with her mother and tried to manipulate everyone to get what he wants. He ends up giving her to the family that killed her brother and sat in her family's estate. She ends up married to their bastard son whose pasttimes include rape and hunting people with his dog. She escapes with a family friend who betrayed her brother(s), heads to find her bastard brother who is Lord Commander of his own kind of celibate army. He helps take back their ancestral home, but now he's on about ice zombies, and they need to get some allies before the Long Night comes again.
