Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, and get hopping! And if this looks a little different than the usual OOC Intro, that's because it is: we've made the executive decision to combine it and the CR meme.

Anyway, to help get this all started, we've got a nifty form for everyone to fill out! Feel free to put this into two separate comments if you'd like, or just keep it to one - it's your choice.

Introduction: I'm an old lady who likes RPing as a chill side hobby. Lately I've been trying to improve my drawing, and I post a lot of random fandom news, cats, WIPs, and rp threads! I'm bummed the Super Best Friends broke up but I'm all in on CSB so eh

Character Name: Majima Gorō
Canon: Yakuza 0

Brief: Have you ever met someone who was both a perfect gentleman and a COMPLETE DUMPSTER FIRE? That's Majima. He seems crabby and rough around the edges, but get to know him and he's intensely loyal, supportive, down-to-earth, loves knives, and has a soft spot for kids.

Majima's an ex-gangster with a Kansai accent, and although he may look outwardly intimidating is in antihero territory due to his canon point. Don't ask him to do crimes! Or at least ask him to do fun crimes.

Choice: Witch
Plans: Majima will be trying to hold it together in the absence of everything he's ever known, but hey, magic is cool! He'll probably immediately try to use it to set something on fire, WHY NOT.That flower quest sounds like my jam, I mean there's so much that can go wrong. Mostly, though, I'll be looking to establish some CR and have Majima practice his horrible, accident-prone magic in the hopes of burning off some of that extra energy. By which I mean he'll probably try to stick it where it least belongs, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?
Other Notes: I love exploration, adventure, and doing new things, and I like both slice of life and plot! Probably the most important thing to me is a sense of progress, so I'm usually coming up with new ideas for things to do and new ways to grow out my character. I especially love tagging new characters and growing solid CR. I really enjoy shipping/romance, and have quite enjoyed surprise CR in the past with character chemistry I totally didn't expect!

Seeking: Weirdos with a passion, characters with big hearts, characters that are kinda sorta Blood Knights, action/comedy/drama, characters with similar trauma, characters with the art of conversation. Since Majima's a witch, monster buds would be lovely. Bondwise... well, it's all up to thread chemistry, really; the characters Majima tends to get closest to are characters with a strong motivation/moral code, but also a sense of vulnerability.
Offering: Majima can be a very supportive and loyal friend, and he genuinely likes helping people even if he claims not to. Since he's used to being on the outskirts of society, he's sympathetic to others in similar situations, particularly those with difficult or traumatic experiences that are still Trying Their Best. He can be a goofball or a straight man, and he absolutely knows how to party. He's also a pretty easygoing, chill conversationalist, and enjoys talking to people. He also loves violence and stabbing, though not all of the above at the same time, so figure that one out...
Not Interested: Negative CR that doesn't really go anywhere.

I am more than excited for Majima's ridiculousness, okay. They get to learn magic together and that's going to be a beautiful and awful thing I'M SURE!!! Hopefully, Majima enjoys hearing the other babble about magic and monsters because that is definitely going to be A Thing.

I would love to get some cr!! Kurapika looks sweet but he's actually a bodyguard for a mafia family and gets involved in that deeper and deeper all for personal reasons, so he's more familiar than you'd think! he also fits into strong motivation and moral code so I'd be curious to see how they interact!

I LOVE KURAPIKA hunter x hunter is also my jam! So yeah, absolutely, this sounds like a blast!

Since both their canons have plenty of weirdos, I'm sure it'll be an easier fit than one would think, too :).

OH BLESS it's so exciting when ppl are canon familiar... I know of majima solely through the LP of yakuza 0 from tbfp so my knowledge is limited LMFAO but I still love him

they can probably get involved in plot type shenanigans together fairly easily, so I'm hoping the intro log has an easy prompt for us to work with, or we can find quests or etc! can I add you on plurk?

anti-hero crabby dumpster fire, you say!!! petra has spent an unusual amount of time surrounded by mercenaries for a ~lady~, so they could be some interesting cr as she will gravitate to the familiar and "cranky punch man" is more familiar than she looks like it should be. she is not a child despite being pocket-sized, but she is a mom who's lost a child???? pls have soft spot

Depending on Petra's personality, it's... possible Majima might kick the politeness up a couple notches? He doesn't deal with a lot of Official Ladies, so I'm eager to see how it works out!

ccc: excellent i will toss her at him! and: yeah, ngl, she often has that effect on people. she's not very casually informal (...and "casually informal" looks different on her when she is), and she's also honestly not used to interacting with people without several armed guards and/or the awareness that her husband is a warlord with a flaming sword, which generally tends to enforce good manners in her presence. like she's very sweet, but how do you, peasants???

I'm super enjoying our Majima and Yako thread on the TDM and I'd love that CR to carry over into game and see how it develops! Since you're canon familiar you're already familiar with the sort of no gooder Yako hangs out with and Majima fits right into that lmfao. Please don't set the whole place on fire, Majima (although since I'm hoping to spec Yako into enchantment/enhancement magic, it's all too possible she might accidentally actively contribute).

I'm having a look at the quests myself and gardening is definitely one of those things Yako would go for because... well... lunch. But we can figure out something else too if something else on the log ends up catching our fancy as a scenario instead? :|a!

That sounds lovely! Gosh, Yako's such a good noodle and guess what Majima also loves food so maybe they should try to magically make takoyaki because WHY NOT

I never expected to see a Neuro character around, I'm so bummed they never licensed the manga but at least Assassination Classroom got really popular :P

Food magic is probably literally going to be the first thing Yako tries to do but she's going to suck at it ... makes takoyaki that comes to life and runs away to live in the sewers tbh... aka yes this absolutely needs to happen and be a total disaster. RN I think Yako's pretty booked for city quests but there are Wilde quests (looking at Out of the City or Lost and Lost right now) that might be fun? With Lost and Lost especially since she doesn't have any combat ability of her own she could probably use a hand...

I'm bummed too! 8'( They even came out with new covers for a collected edition of the manga (with Matsui's much-improved art style asdfjkl;) so it was a bit of a missed opportunity.

I'd love to do stuff and I know you commented to mine but I'm gonna comment to yours. I'm really interested to see where his and Justine's CR goes. It's already had some interesting twists and turns that I hadn't expected >.< of course I love them and I want them to ride off into the sunset together lol

But I'd love to continue building CR. I'm thinking that this setting will have different effects on them. I'd also love for Justine to learn to fight again.

Same here, and that can be a thing, although I guess magic's got more of a punch but I was thinking Majima would try and combine magic with physical attacks since he knows the latter anyway, what I'm saying is that it'll be interesting times...

Definitely! A chimera, that sounds fun :). Or maybe not, depending on how uncomfortable the changes are...

I've never played Fallout, but teen survivors sound neat! Majima didn't come from a super easy background himself, so maybe they'll find some common ground

I would love to try playing with him though. Alex is certainly someone who needs help ahaha but she'd also like to do the helping too. So it'd be cool to see how their interaction would go!

but ye LET'S DO IT. She's all for people changing her perception of mafia/yakuza since it's been sorta bad until recently. She kinda is one to judge on the surface at first glance, but she does try to see through that and make up for it.
