Special Fourth Wall EMP!

Happy one-year anniversary, Aefenglom! In honor of this special occasion and to make up for delaying our application round, this month we are having a Fourth Wall Event, open to all who want to try out a character in the setting. Don't let your dreams be dreams. Keep in mind that for this Fourth Wall, characters who would not normally be appable will be allowed, except for CRAU, and with the caveat of "be considerate to each other" with regards to doubles, etc. Otherwise, have fun!

Feel free to use this post for characters you'd like to see, or to float characters you might want to bring, make plans with people who aren't already part of the game, etc! (The CR Meme on the 3rd will be for current players/characters. Fourth wall guests should use this instead.)

Fourth wall characters will arrive through various mundane mirrors throughout Aefenglom after a little mishap at the Looking-Glass House. This means that yes, you might stumble out of someone's bathroom mirror unexpectedly, sorry about that! Once here, everyone will begin accelerated transformations into Monsters or Witches, but unfortunately, their presence here is not so tied down as proper Mirrorbound, and by June 1st, they will all vanish back into the mirrors around the city. ICly they will know their stay is tentative, but no one will know exactly when they'll disappear.

Still, that's plenty of time to explore a little, or reunite with old friends.

Aefenglom is a sex-friendly, panfandom fantasy game, set in the post-apocalyptic world of Geardagas. Character choices can affect overarching plot, and the characters' ultimate goal will be to help rebalance the world by stopping the growth of the Cwyld, a magical blight infecting both the land and inhabitants living in places left unprotected. There are many things to learn about the world and how it came to be along the way that will help in discovering both the cause of the Cwyld and how to get home.

Tell Us More: Pao-Lin is like if Son Goku were a teenage kung-fu tomboy Pikachu and also a corporate-sponsored superhero. Hubert is a 17-year-old trollable nerd kid with family issues who fronts like he's a seasoned military commander. (To be fair, he actually is a highly-respected officer in his adopted country...but also he fucking essentially commissioned his country's military for a custom weapon based on his favorite comic book as a kid.)
Choice: I...DON'T KNOW... Pao-Lin might be a dragon, though I've had fae suggested for her too. Hubert is up in the air, so I'll take suggestions.

I don't know if you know Trails of Cold Steel, but in it there's a character named Machias who has a similar enough personality (uptight, trollable, overachiever, anger issues, nerd) that Hubert might make Elliot squint and wonder if he's one of his distant relatives.

I officially got into the canon in like 2013-2014 via an LP, then got the game for Christmas in maybe like 2016-2017, and only managed to finish the game EARLIER THIS YEAR. I don't know what this says about me but it says something.

I mean... I'm playing someone who just wanted to be a farmer but works out enough to be a powerlifter so. She buff.

Yeeep. I think I got about half of them. I've forgotten which ones I needed but it be some bullshit. I don't remember the exact mechanics but some shards only appear in some areas and the chance of getting them goes down the higher the level difference. With an endgame team it becomes hell.

What's bad is I did manage the card game title.

I played one round of carta and was just like NOT...FOR ME... I'll probably cheat my way through it in my current NG+ HAHAHAHA

I didn't even know about the specific system re: shards. I just spent time grinding and exploring and then when I came back around to the sidequests I was like "Hey, somehow I have a shard with that quality! Neat!" More of a pain to me was dualizing the actual weapon if it was one of those special ones like Flamberg or a Katana or whatever...

One day, I might get back to it. Just skip that part even if I got really funny about 100% games. Because I never managed to play Tales game since. I kept thinking 'no got to finish graces first'

I totally feel you re: "gotta finish this first", because that's where I was at too before I finally sat my dumb ass down and got through an initial playthrough. Now I'm free to try Vesperia or Berseria/Zestiria!!! ...but maybe after all the other games I still have on hand already, sob.

Yeah, I have to go through a whole-ass ritual of clearing space in my tiny room to play at a TV screen, so I really have to block out time to play vidya. I had additional motives for finishing Graces, though, which helped.
