The first is that May's application round will be postponed until June. The mod team is still working on getting back to a good place, trying to catch up on everything outstanding, etc. We apologize for any disappointment, but to be transparent, we just can't handle it this month.
That doesn't mean it's all bad news, though! May 1st marks Aefenglom's 1 year anniversary! It was on this day last year that the game first opened. Perhaps it hasn't been the smoothest ride, but we're delighted to have made it here, and we couldn't have done it without everyone's enthusiasm and interest. To celebrate, May's event will be Aefenglom's first ever fourth wall!
Some higher up Witches in the Coven have been doing their own research on the mysterious phenomenon of the Looking Glass House, trying to understand the method by which those from other worlds are pulled into Aefenglom. After prodding a little too hard during Boaltinn, though, the Looking Glass House will lash out - turning every mundane mirror in the city into a possible portal for Mirrorbound arrivals. Unfortunately, none of them will arrive through the Looking Glass House itself, and without a mirror in the Looking Glass House to bind to, these arrivals will not be tied as firmly to the magic of Talam. Their stay will be limited. All fourth-wall guests will vanish back into various mirrors by the last day of May. ICly they will know their stay is tentative, but no one will know the exact date they will disappear back home.Participation in this event will be open to anyone who is interested in playing around in the setting for the month! The log and network comms will be opened on May 3rd, same day the event goes up, to allow comments from non-members until June 1st. The Event Log will be posted on the OOC comm to allow fourth wall participation, and we will also be putting up a post for fourth wall characters to make network posts/top-levels on. As always, if they near captcha, we will toss up overflows as needed!
Fourth-wall guests will also turn into Witches or Monsters, just like everyone else, but since they'll only be here a limited time, you may play with as many or as few of your Monster changes as quickly or slowly as you'd like! Guest Witches' magic may have a tendency to go haywire (especially around Boaltinn), or they may know spells they haven't explicitly learned yet, similar to TDMs.
The Coven will be trying to track down all these guest Mirrorbound and control the chaos, but who knows what might happen? After all, this is unprecedented, just like the arrival of the first group of Mirrorbound a year ago.
For this event, any characters your hearts desire will be allowed except CRAU, since wonky timelines and unusual magic are at work, but please be courteous to one another! If someone doesn't want to play with a double of their character, or a child character, or anything else, please respect that. If there are any problems that pop up, just let us know through PMing the mod journal or leaving a message on the Mod Contact page and we will handle things.
The CR & Plotting Meme will still go up on the 3rd like usual for current players, but we have a Fourth Wall EMP right here for everyone to plot on!

I was wondering, since the TDM and apps are postponed this month but I'm sure potential appers would be interested in this event, would you consider allowing threads from the Fourth Wall to count for later app samples?

if we use the fourth wall event in a sample for an app and get accepted next app round, would there be an option for the character to remember they'd been in aefenglom before? would there be a chance to make fourth wall potential "game canon" or nah?

Just wanted to check and make sure it's okay to have doubles/multiples running around during the 4th wall!
Also, if someone were to play in the 4th wall and then app for the June round, will the character be able to recall what happened during the 4th wall once they're officially in game? Or will it be a clean slate?

The fourth wall event will be generally considered game canon, unless players want to retcon away any of their individual threads. If a character brought during the fourth wall is applied for and accepted later, they can remember this event!
