Special Fourth Wall EMP!

Happy one-year anniversary, Aefenglom! In honor of this special occasion and to make up for delaying our application round, this month we are having a Fourth Wall Event, open to all who want to try out a character in the setting. Don't let your dreams be dreams. Keep in mind that for this Fourth Wall, characters who would not normally be appable will be allowed, except for CRAU, and with the caveat of "be considerate to each other" with regards to doubles, etc. Otherwise, have fun!

Feel free to use this post for characters you'd like to see, or to float characters you might want to bring, make plans with people who aren't already part of the game, etc! (The CR Meme on the 3rd will be for current players/characters. Fourth wall guests should use this instead.)

Fourth wall characters will arrive through various mundane mirrors throughout Aefenglom after a little mishap at the Looking-Glass House. This means that yes, you might stumble out of someone's bathroom mirror unexpectedly, sorry about that! Once here, everyone will begin accelerated transformations into Monsters or Witches, but unfortunately, their presence here is not so tied down as proper Mirrorbound, and by June 1st, they will all vanish back into the mirrors around the city. ICly they will know their stay is tentative, but no one will know exactly when they'll disappear.

Still, that's plenty of time to explore a little, or reunite with old friends.

Aefenglom is a sex-friendly, panfandom fantasy game, set in the post-apocalyptic world of Geardagas. Character choices can affect overarching plot, and the characters' ultimate goal will be to help rebalance the world by stopping the growth of the Cwyld, a magical blight infecting both the land and inhabitants living in places left unprotected. There are many things to learn about the world and how it came to be along the way that will help in discovering both the cause of the Cwyld and how to get home.

High school drop out getting his school redemption arc as a witch.

I still haven't actually fully decided. Witch sounds fun for him, but I was also considering Chimera where he has Komodo Dragon, Dwarf Rabbit, and Red Deer traits mixed with his Grey Wolf appearance just also sounds...Good. Just taking attributes from people close to him cuz I am a sentimental fool.

as long as it's not like, the lone tall rabbit chimera because i still have fever dreams of it. a motley mix of his background and also his favourite herbivores is much cuter.

i know i'm at an impasse between fae and witch myself because both do offer great potential, but the good thing about the 4th wall is it's like a longer, more dynamic test drive!

I've already brainstormed a bit of where his changes would be. I also already play a Witch ingame, so I feel like I'd get bored playing a second Witch during Fourth Wall (and I don't think I have enough brain cells to pull too many people out for this).

I think Fae would be cute, but I also like the idea of Witch. Not that it matters for fourth wall, but for a more serious arc, I think Haru becoming a strong witch would be so great. She has spent her entire life feeling like prey and knowing she's small and physically weak due to biology that her being a witch and suddenly being able to do more would be quite interesting I think. Fae isn't weak by any means, but they're more in danger to the Cwyld and I just love the idea of Haru being a fiercely strong Witch in the making despite her size and her physicality would be fun.

At the very least, I think honing her skills would give her a feeling of safety or relief that she can do more to protect Louis and Legoshi where she probably felt like a damsel in distress watching behind them before.

NO NO i love to ramble. i already play haru at prismatica, so going through changes is also something i've played with, which is why i was debating between a monster or a witch.

none of the larger/stronger monster options interested me that much for haru because i enjoy playing with her hang-ups as a small and weak prey animal, so her being fae or puca would mean i'd get to lean into that a bit more and have her work through familiar but more intensified instincts, but with fae having the bonus of wings. not that it would be putting her back to square one, but more like seeing how she'd move forward with it in a different scenario.

haru being a witch is what i was initially thinking about though for those exact reasons you mentioned! her being able to use magic and become a strong witch is definitely something she's not able to do in the game i currently play her in, nor in canon obviously, so it offers something unique and new. plus i could see her getting really into alchemy...as well as bonding with monsters on top of becoming a powerful magic user.

Fae nature would be fun. Haru playing mean tricks and being pettier than usual is pretty hilarious.

I could see her really getting into alchemy or potions. Herbology is def a thing that she can practice here with the added mix that learning about it probably will actually be more than just flower language.

Also I will not lie that Louis and Haru being Witches and practicing magic together but them being stuck with Legoshi as a feral Chimera sounds like a bad sitcom ready to happen.

YEAH the petty trickster stuff entices me coupled with being able to give her butterfly wings and glamour magic to mess with people. like if haru was a monster she’d be the trickster kind.

i didn’t see herbology listed though so I clearly have to dig deeper!! she would definitely go in on plants, plant-based magic, poisons.....
i-i mean completely pure and innocent magical plant uses, obviously. plus i would definitely sign up for that sitcom; a fun and exhausting Witch-Monster-Witch triad Bond....
alternatively if he was a witch she’d also be able to help him with his studies! and he’d have to deal with her having bonds with monsters....

but good you get the exact image that tempted me she has an extra big black hat with holes for her ears. The Works!!

I am particularly fond of Fae. Had I been able to maintain a second character instead of pandemic kicking my ass, he was a fae LMAO.

Herbology isn't listed, but my character is pretty into the properties of plants, so I've definitely asked about what some of the plants in Aef can do since he's known to be able to work with it (canonically has made poultices and such), so it's definitely an avenue you can venture into if it interests you. I'd be happy to tag Haru with both Legoshi and Newt (my in game character) and open up that avenue if you'd like!

I probably won't be tossing up a toplevel until tomorrow....assuming the 4th Wall log doesn't hit its capacity. But yeah Legoshi don't be a pain uwu if she's a witch she has to make bonds with monsters. She's allowed to have friends!!
