MARCH MIRRORBOUND COUNCIL POST

Welcome to the Mirrorbound Council discussion post for the month of March! This is the space to discuss IC concerns from your characters that can be brought to Parliament by members of the Mirrorbound Council. Here are some quick facts!

• Membership in the Mirrorbound Council is open, so if your character is the type to get involved, you're more than welcome to sign up here.
• More information on the Council's history, current members, and motions can be found here.
• Each motion must be cosigned by 3 Council members.
• Each council member can only cosign 1 motion per month.
• As a result, there may be months where not all motions can be raised. In that case, motions will be brought to Parliament in the order of greatest IC support to least IC support.
• To suggest an IC motion, please post to the most appropriate heading below. Make sure to list the name of the character who would suggest it so they get credit!
• To support an IC motion, comment to the motion with either "+1" or some other indication of your character's support. There's no limit on how many motions each character can support, so be sure to check the whole post!
All characters can suggest and support motions ICly — not just Council members! Consider this post an OOC representation of an open-forum style discussion open to all Mirrorbound. The goal is to get as many people involved as possible, both ICly and OOCly, so don't hesitate to chime in!
• The deadline to submit motions is March 15th. After submissions close, Council members will attach their names to motions and submit them to the mod team by March 25th.
• All OOC ideas and suggestions are welcome as well, so please hit us up!

One of the Exarch's goals I signed up with was actually a community garden, so he will be happy to support any motion for it or help draft it up! I was sitting on it til next month because people are learning how to take care of plants/garden THIS month, and maybe in April they could put it to use??? 🤔

Expansion for farming seems tricky but is worth looking into. It really depends on how much protection the Bright Wall can offer, and if they can reclaim the parts of the city/surrounding area that most people find undesirable. There are still people living there, and they need help, and anything they can do to make the area around them safer will be a win for everyone.

Oh, I'm hype for a community garden OOC and Myr would be hype for it IC! (The more gardens in the city, the better, honestly.)

It may be worth looking into what it would take to push out portions of the Bright Wall so those areas can be productively reclaimed? Or otherwise work out how the Mirrorbound (& refugees, we're all in this boat together now, I g) can lend their aid where resources have stretched thin on maintaining those parts of the city. Though per Giorno's suggestion above on desegregating housing and spreading the Mirrorbound and refugees throughout the city, bringing some of the people stuck outside (who aren't there voluntarily) might also be worthwhile. (With due care taken for Cwyld infections, people exiled for crimes, etc etc.)

The people outside the Wall voluntarily could be an interesting challenge for the clean-up/reclamation efforts. If they're out there because they wouldn't survive in the Wilde but they don't want to put up with the nonsense of the city, they likely would not take kindly to their homes getting taken up in a gentrification/reclamation effort. Might be worth thinking on how to make them a resource instead.

(These are all my OOC thinky-thoughts; this is not necessarily the way Myr's brain would work heh.)

These are all good ideas! It's worth looking into for sure, though I think the Bright Wall being where it is might be because of how close it is to a leyline. They might be able to push it out though? HMM...

One of the Exarch's other bullet points was starting a kind of trade program where Dorchacht and Aefenglom train and trade artisans between both cities to help sustain and rebuild where needed. That could be a constructive thing for the people outside the wall, maybe?

Never fear, a small child with no life experience is here!! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

Myr's player helpfully let me know that this was under discussion on the council post, because independently of this (I missed this convo), I finally got around to poking the mods about an idea related to hey why is the bright wall too small for the city. I'd been thinking about since Leslie discovered hey, people live out there where they told me it was dangerous to be and was planning to have her read about the Bright Wall, but I had completely forgotten we have a post for investigating things in the world???

I'm in the middle of gathering people who want in on a plot investigation application for Leslie doing more research into this matter (note: if there is anything to actually be DONE about it, I'll be sure to let other people know, too). From the FAQ, it looks like from the FAQ part that the results are going to be something like "making more of the Bright Wall would be hella expensive, but there might be ways to at least slow the advance of the Cwyld with enchantments." When the people looking into this have done their "read books/records in whatever places will let them look, talk to people in the Coven/who work on wall maintenance, and take trips into the outer city/farmlands to talk to people living out there/survey the land," Leslie (or someone else -- nothing saying that the child needs to stay team leader just because she started it) will probably write up a report of her findings to give to the council. Leslie is close with a few of the council members, so she trusts it as The Place To Go To Get Things Done.

Even as recently as this morning, I didn't expect Leslie to have any success whatsoever in this researching, so I haven't thought all the way through what happens if this turns into a plotline. Maybe there will be some post on it on the network someday? I haven't even done her catchall log yet help.
