THE AEFENGLOM LOVE MEME

♡ Love Meme Love Meme (Say That You Love Me) ♡

Welcome to Aefenglom's first love meme, in honor of our three month anniversary - and just because we wanted one! Is there someone you really like playing with? Is there someone you viciously stalk the threads of because they're just that good? Here's the place to say it and embarrass them in front of everyone. Just post with your name and what character(s) you play, then get to spreading some positivity - about the game, about each other, and more.

Happy hearts, Aefenglom. We couldn't have made it this far without all of you.

Hey, that sounds like a plan! I enjoyed how hard Tony tried to take the talking skeleton in stride, and even humored some of Papyrus' more Papyrusy sentiments... It can be tricky, especially when he starts waxing whimsical.

I should admit, I know just enough comics to know how things can considerably change characterizations between different runs, and I know little to nothing about 616. Are there any major details to that universe that you'd say are huge? (I know early MCU and some rough spoilers, but in all honesty, most of my Tony Stark knowledge is fanfic)

Comics are really a big bag of randomness so most stuff it really whatever is going on at the time, but for Tony currently I'm taking him from a point where he just came back from a coma and doesn't really remember things from the most recent canon events. So he's very refreshed, confused, and everyone is very angry with him. Basically he's just more emotional and eager to prove himself. Mostly fanfic is probably pretty good for an overall impression? He's less antagonistic than MCU because he doesn't like pushing people away/being the center of everything if it means isolating friends. He started the Avengers and is more of that type of personality if that helps!

Ohh, nice. Canonical amnesia is such a gift to writers and roleplayers, you've got an excuse to handwave things but you can still use the events to inform their emotional context.

That sounds like an excellent take on him! I got frustrated with watching MCU Tony - simultaneously trying to control things while pushing away the people who could've helped do it better - so this Tony being not just a willing participant but a founder to the hero group sounds like a refreshing take on him. I imagine he's got some other personal issues that trip him up at times, but I look forward to seeing them in action!

When canon gets crazy sometimes you just have to pick a point and go with that. Otherwise you'll be sifting through stuff forever! That's why comics notoriously gets over things really quickly. We got other stuff to do, guys!

Yeah, 616 Tony in some ways is actually kind of the opposite where he's one of the first ones as far as I've seen to call out for help/ ask advice/ get consultation from others and likes forming groups and pooling effort, since, businessman. The times he isolates himself are more "this obviously upset X in the past and I can't bring it up" or "I don't want to unload my problems when everyone else has suffered worse" rather than a Maverick daredevil style. He definitely makes as many mistakes but they come from a different place. I really think he will get along with Papyrus since he just likes making friends and being helpful.
