Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time you new people to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, check out some quests, and get hopping!

Character Name: Geralt of Rivia (niespodzianka)
Canon: The Witcher
Appearance: 6'2", fit, pale and scarred skin, white hair, gold and black eyes.
Brief: century-old mutant monster hunter from a "medieval" dark fantasy world who has been through some shit, can be a dope and can be cynical, sounds very deadpan and has flattened emotions but means well, usually. in aef he is a witch!
Seeking/Offering: looking for battle buddies, weirdos, hookups, bad idea friends and adventurers, other tired old people, plucky young people to be skeptical of, and all else. since I Just Got Here i'm pretty open. geralt can come off as deadpan and distant and sometimes it can take a while for it to be apparent that actual friendship is happening, but he's a loyal friend and always down for an ill-advised adventure, even if he complains through it.

Short version on Percy: Young lordling survived his family getting slaughtered and accidentally (and unknowingly) made a pact with a demon that involved inventing guns in an otherwise medieval-ish setting, proceeded to use them in running around with a group of adventurers. His app is here for a slightly more coherent explanation.

i dropped the ball on the TDM with tagging as liz mainly bc i was hoping to app as dany instead. but... hello. forgive me and let me latch onto the fact of witcher characters!!! in games!!!

i BELIEVE we'd threaded briefly on bs a while ago (as yen or ciri? i can't recall) but hello. i'm personally very happy you chose to go witch with geralt!!! i have a stubborn and impulsive young queen / single dragon mom to offer!

no worries! it's just a tdm. and aahh i think so! i've only really recently felt secure enough with geralt to do more than nervous chihuahua around memes, lmao. so i'm pretty excited to be here /o/

i'm glad! i love mashing up fantasy settings and there's a lot of cool aspects that overlap with GOT and witcher (did you mean bloody baron is king robert fallen from grace y/n) – so i'm hype to see if we can make anything stick with upcoming events.

I'm Possum btw, you already know I play Peridot here but I also play Morgan Yu from Prey, who is basically a tired old person despite her being only 30 years old.

Anyway I'm excited to have you and your witcher man here! Let me know if you want to canonize our TDM thread, or not, I'm flexible either way!

peridot is so charming even tho i'm canonblind, and aaahhhmahgawd prey is one of my favorite games, amazing. i'd love to keep our tdm thread, i think it'd be nice to weasel in for further cr. dragons!!

Oh my god I had no idea you were SU canonblind, like. I generally tag people assuming that they are, but it's weirdly thrilling to find out for sure. Peridot's a horrid little goblin, but she's a horrid little goblin who means well, I swear. (She was honestly a bit more subdued than usual in the dream setting so. I apologize in advance, to both you and your character).

It's EVEN MORE EXCITING to meet someone else who ACTUALLY KNOWS PREY? I AM THRILLED? I finished playing it a little while back and I was astounded at how small of a following it wound up with, like it's not an unknown game by any means, but.... Nowhere near the big fan following I was expecting. It's SUCH a good game.

I ALSO love succulents, but more on the topic of CR, I have this guy Sora here who is going to be studying as hard as he can as a witch, which may not amount to anything because he's not that good at school... but more importantly! Sora will want to explore and he is not intimidated by people being cynical and deadpan, so they can definitely go on ill-advised adventures while unprepared. If Geralt's into that.

geralt is a cranky old man who prefers being prepared, but AS FOR ME i'm super into it, so geralt will just have to deal. :D

me too :( I watered all my succulents around the same time but one of them is doing much worse than the others for some reason... at least some of my propagations are sprouting!

shaking things up is good! variety is the spice of life! Geralt can enjoy the (possibly dangerous) outdoors! i was thinking about doing an exploration/learning log, if you'd want something for Geralt there?

absolutely!! geralt, uh, technically looks younger, sort of, but his hair's been white since he was twelve. OH WELL

(insert vulcan salute here) and ok this is going to SOUND INSANE but witcher canon is bonkers: when geralt died he was resurrected and sent to live for several years on avalon, because his adopted daughter who has godlike powers spent some time in a universe with authur legends. there's also a deity called the lady of the lake in his world, who has a lot of striking similarities but is probably just an inherited legend because the witcher planet is a canon multiverse. maybe. probably. she gave geralt a sword once! (not excalibur.) so there's ... THAT ... to chat about over tea.

Oh snap, that's right, huh. I forgot that Geralt is like way old, hahah. I've actually not played any of The Witcher games or read the novels, but I have some basic knowledge of the world from reading about it and from friends who are fans.

BUT I... HAD NO IDEA... ABOUT THIS AVALON THING. And yet I am somehow not surprised, hahah, because Arthurian legend is referenced or shows up in other canons a lot. Arthur would be very interested in hearing about all this. He actually got kicked out of Avalon by his world's Merlin because she (yes, Fate/ is kind of all over the place with genders, lol) wanted him to go chase down an Evil of Humanity and defeat it. So he's been hopping from one world to another in search of the thing.
