[Her hand presses to her chest, but just as she does, the bunny hobbles over to her and sniffs the air around her before going to do the same to her fingers instead. She holds still, allowing it some time to familiarize itself with her first.]

[ To be able to feel the recognizable presence of another is a sensation that Orchid knows all too well. She doesn't bat an eyelid. Nodding, she understands the concern. They're lucky her summoned beasts so far are on their side. And hopefully it'll continue to stay that way.

[Lightning's gasp of surprise is quiet, reserved under a breath, but when she gets over the initial shock of the bunny nudging its head into her hand, she gives it a well-deserved pet. She's never had an animal or been much of an animal-person, so this is kind of... sweet?
It almost makes her want to pick it up and cradle it in her arms, but the matter at hand is more serious than that.]
Yeah... but don't fall too far into that hole. For your own sake. Never know what you're gonna get in the end. I was lucky you were here.
[ The rabbit doesn't seem like it would mind being lifted! But the petting is perfectly fine too. It sits, then flops over on its side. Eyes half closed, relaxed.
Again, a small sense of pride bubbles up within Orchid, knowing that she was able to help this woman. Though it's only for a moment. ]

[ Orchid parrots Lightning slowly, before fully comprehending the meaning behind those words. Who knows, maybe the next creature tries to conjure up could wind up being something hostile. Frowning, she realizes how often she relies on some sort of power source. Much like when she had Lloyd in her possession.
Without any of it, she struggles to find ways to make herself useful. ]
I'm not sure what I could have done without that magic...
[She shakes her head, hand coming to rest on the rabbit's side and giving it some gentler, more subtle scratches while she fixes Orchid with a concerned look.]

[Like take down the Shades, and Lightning is still grateful that Orchid was there to help. Her own magic wouldn't have been enough alone and she knows that. Now. But in the past? She was stupid about it, and is trying to learn from those mistakes.]
It's like it starts to boil to the surface after a while... but if you don't have a Bond, don't use it enough, or use it too much, it can be dangerous.
[ Like the overflowing feeling that stirred within her earlier. Her eyes settle on the rabbit as it lays there, well-behaved. It's useless to dwell on the possibility of her conjuration turning out for the worse. For now, they're lucky. The same can't be said for any future attempts.
Orchid lifts her gaze, with a small spark in her eyes. Meanwhile, the wind rabbit lifts one winged ear up suddenly, almost as though it's picking up on its summoner's determination to better herself. ]
Tell me, how am I supposed to acquire a "Bond"? I... don't want to cause any trouble for others.
[ She had heard of the potions earlier. But a "Bond" sounds like it may have a more lasting effect. ]
[For anyone else, but that doesn't mean that Lightning doesn't think it an inconvenience for herself. She doesn't want to impart that kind of wisdom on Orchid, who strikes her as a little impressionable. Better that she hears it now.]
You'll be better able to control your magic with one... maybe even conjure up something stronger. And from what I hear, Monsters are better for us than other Witches. [One last thing, and the most important part:] Just make sure it's someone you trust.
[ It doesn't take her long to mull over her words, but only because she knows her current options are lacking. She might have some budding trust towards Lightning at least, but they're both witches.
Her frown remains. ]
When I arrived, I didn't see anyone that I recognized. I wonder why I'm alone.
[It's said more to herself with a small nod, and Lightning's expression warms at the word, like it's something that she doesn't get the chance to say often. She's been able to say it more these days, but maybe not so much here.
Her brows knit together into a frown, and she repositions herself so she can better look at Orchid, her hand still remaining near the rabbit for it to sniff at.]
You never know. You might find your friends here. I did... You just gotta keep your eyes peeled.
[ No doubt she looked high and low for a familiar face when she first arrived. To a point where it felt hopeless. Orchid opens her mouth to say something, though words don't escape her lips at first.
Holding back from saying anything that might drive herself into misery, she simply nods her head. ]
...You're right. I'll keep a lookout.
[ Almost as though it senses Orchid's loneliness, the rabbit slips out from beneath Lightning's hand, hopping back over to its summoner. ]
[Lightning remains kneeled for a moment longer, pausing to smile up at Orchid before she straightens upright again, watching as the rabbit moves back to her.]
We should probably get out of here before more Shades show.
[Her first priority is getting Orchid somewhere safe, outside of the trees and within the city walls. Who knows what could be lurking in the shadows, and Lightning isn't too keen on finding out what.]
