[Well, alright. At least the adopted part makes more sense than her having a birth daughter. Ursula looks pretty young still, but it was the latter that first came to Lightning's mind, and what surprised her the most.

She takes a sip of her coffee, already relieved that the mood seems to have lightened... in some aspects.]

Congrats. You'd make a pretty good mom.

Well, I'm trying my best, at any rate. Though being a mother is a bit different than just being a teacher, particularly to a teenager.

[ Plus all of the... unique things that came with Monika, what she'd discovered during the memory share. Her love hadn't waned at all, but it had woken her to just how difficult a task she had with the girl. ]

She lives in the same building, mostly alone, but we spend as much time together as we can. She was particularly helpful when I couldn't walk, at all. I'm really grateful to her.

The best is all we can do sometimes.

[It's been a long time since Lightning's thought about it, but it makes her miss her own mother. She hasn't forgotten her at all since, but she has forgotten what it feels like to have one. It's nice to know that there are others out there who have found a figure to look up to in that sense.]

I'm assuming she's another Mirrorbound?

[ A nod. ]

Her name is Monika. She comes from a... pretty rough background. [ That was a way of putting it. but boy did it not even really come close how severe the reality of Monika's existence was when any scrutiny was put on it ]

So I try to do my best to assure her she's loved and that she has a home here, with me...

Seems to be a common thread between a lot of us.

[Rough backgrounds. She's yet to meet someone here who has a happy story to share about their lives back home, and even when they do, there was sometimes still impacts that came with it.

She wonders if that's a trend that this world looks for when it brings people through its mirrors.]

... I'm sure she's found some reasons to be happy here.
