CR & PLOTTING: MAY

Last month began with an uncommon event: a meteor shower that followed closely the night wHere a new batch of Mirrorbound entered Aefenglom. Ties with Dorchacht have been tightened with new trade routes opening; plenty of Mirrorbounds offered a helping hand with the issue of keeping them safe. A Mirrorbound-led base of operations has been established in the Wilde, and a long-lasting ban on theater has finally been lifted thanks to the efforts of the Mirrorbound Council. On the night of 13th another shared dream occurred, but this time it invited Mirrorbound to peek into each other's Mirrors and the lives they used to lead. This is something that had not happened before, and sparked interest renewed in the nature of the dream connection they all share.

4TH WALL: An Inauspicious Arrival

Maiuril begins traditionally with Boaltinn, a celebration of long-awaited summer arriving. Coincidentally it also marks a full year since the first group of Mirrorbound arrived. Some of the higher up Witches in the Coven have been doing their own research on the mysterious phenomenon of the Looking Glass House, trying to understand the method by which those from other worlds are pulled into Aefenglom. After prodding a little too hard during Boaltinn, though, the Looking Glass House will lash out - turning every mundane mirror in the city into a possible portal for Mirrorbound arrivals. Unfortunately, none of them will arrive through the Looking Glass House itself, and without a mirror in the Looking Glass House to bind to, these arrivals will not be tied as firmly to the magic of Talam. Their stay will be limited. All fourth-wall guests will vanish back into various mirrors by the last day of May. ICly they will know their stay is tentative, but no one will know the exact date they will disappear back home.

The Coven will be trying to track down all these guest Mirrorbound and control the chaos, but who knows what might happen? After all, this is unprecedented, just like the arrival of the first group of Mirrorbound a year ago.

Appearance: Tall, pale, and handsome. Maria's a seven foot tall beast of a woman. Looks like she could kill you and could kill you.
Brief: A Hunter from a place where you kill werewolves, not marry them. Except, as some people found out last month, she hasn't been a proper Hunter in years, and was more of a researcher near the end of her life. She's softened since she's come to Aefenglom, due to some CR and character development, but she still isn't immediately friendly to Monsters she doesn't know, especially. She keeps a giant garden here, and is generally sort of cold and standoffish, but can be convinced to warm up with time, and even invite people into the garden to hang out and have lunch and enjoy the flowers. If she really likes you, she'll send you home with some. That said, this month is after the Biggest Secret she was definitely trying to never let get revealed, was revealed, so she's struggling with a lot of the things that led to her original death. Depression sucks, y'all.

Haven't decided yet how much I am going to participate in 4th Wall shenanigans. However, Vanitas would be interested in checking out The Wilde Hunt. So if someone wants to work something out, let me know? Even though Vanitas is properly Bonded, he still enjoys cutting lose so it's a great chance for him to experiment with magic that he normally just can't. He also likes fighting so there's that.

General Plans:
I have an open log that mostly has Quest-related starters. Other than that I don't really have solid plans save for a few things that I've had planned out for a while. Vanitas has all three Bond slots taken so there's nothing there. However I am always looking for new CR or looking to build upon existing CR. I am open to anything, really!

Brief: Angry swordsman, mad at the world, probably mad at you. Don't let the brusque exterior fool you; he really does care and have feelings deep down...way deep down.

Event Plans: Felix might go for a jaunt out in the Wilde since the Hunt seems to be more up his alley and will let him work off that full moon energy, but other than that I may just tag around with him on the fourth wall.
General Plans: After knocking back a metric fuckton of threads in March and April (probably more than I could really handle under the current real-world circumstances, to be honest) I'd like to take it a little easier for May. I still want to get a network post up for him if I can find the time - my man here wants to figure out how to transform into a wolf at will! - but other than that, staying laid back. As always, I'm happy to make whatever cr dreams you might be harboring come true - all you have to do is ask!

Felix may be content with one Bond, but he should probably look into getting more now that he's been here a while! He has two open slots if that's something you'd be interested in pursuing. Preference goes to crosscanon; not looking for any more castmate bonds unless they're temporary and/or it's extreme circumstances.

Given the amount of FFVII cast that is looking to show up on the fourth wall, that's where he'll mostly be. Confusing the hell out of them while still throwing temper tantrums at no one knowing who he is. It's hard being a remnant.

General Plans:

I'm going to admit that I've been struggling with him a bit as you do with the villain-y type but hope to try and get back into him with the help of the fourth wall happening. Kadaj is a very unpredictable personality and can be prone to sudden outbursts and heavy moodswings so I get that he's not for everyone. He's still without a bond so he's liable to be a lot more unstable than usual since it's been about 3 months for him now. Other than that, he's been working on illusion magic since it's what he does in canon anyway. He has a closed post up that I'm more than willing to do things with others if they want Kadaj for anything. Otherwise, I'm just going to play it by ear and see if I can get something going for him before deciding anything.

In Aef, she's still tried and unsure about what to do about the canon spoiler things, but she's opening up to CR and trying to do her own thing instead of following others. (JK she's kind of still acting on what others have told her because she has no idea)

Event Plans: I'm probably just going to see what happens. The only set thing is Mikasa is going to be offering a spare room/couch to Jean.
General Plans:So for the Boaltinn and the lead up to the full moon, Mikasa is going to be losing it and going feral. She's gone months without a bond and only using potions. And mantis are kind of notorious for trying to eat anything and everything that moves as long as they think they can take it.

Brief: An idiot who likes to come off as not giving a shit about anyone or anything when he really does. Trevor knows what it's like to be bullied/persecuted/wronged and doesn't like seeing injustice done to others. He has a low tolerance for monsters given his being a Belmont but is capable of working with them if need be. Crude, not beneath kicking you in the nuts in a fight, and known to toss insults as a form of friendship at times. He actually is good at what he does though and it wouldn't be wise to underestimate him and his capabilities/knowledge. He's also a lot more soft than he wants to let on.

Pretty much just tossing him around on the fourth wall at any canonmates and maybe others.

General Plans:

I sort of took an unofficial hiatus last month due to burnout and life. That being said, Trevor is a full vampire and has been since about mid-March. He's always open to helping other vampires if they need help adjusting or dealing with the changes they're about to go through since vampires end up kicking the bucket and all. Reconnecting with CR is pretty much all I have in mind for the month. I'd like Trevor to somehow eventually act more like a classic cruel vampire for a bit but I'm still trying to work out how to make that happen so tbd.

Always open to blood donors and any effects their blood might have on him. He's off the market for bonds and romantic relationships but I'm open to having some fun that may or may not involve bloodplay. He's a vampire ok. And that's about it!

Brief: Seems very nice and kind and serene to most, actually kind of scum but if treated well, you'll never know. Now settling in to Aefenglom, he's bonded to Lan Xichen (which is kind of a disaster but they're... trying...) and has taken up some work doing boring things like bookkeeping. Will probably join Council when his life stops being quite such a nightmare of monster changes and emotions and people who want to kill him... j/k that last one isn't going away any time soon.

Event Plans: I made big plans last month and then fell through on a lot of it so I'd like to not actually commit to too much. Planning to tag out mostly and just hit up open things. There's going to be some cast-related drama for sure too.
General Plans: I'm excited for 4th wall BUT I would also really love to spend some time on trying to make some more permanent cross-canon relationships because his relationship with 80% of his own cast is fucked (which is his own fault but still...). Play strategy board games, or chat about festivities, or other worlds, or visit the market, or help and be helped with monster changes... some chill would be good for the guy.

Brief: A lordling who escaped the massacre of his family and became an adventurer somewhat plagued by the belief that he is the only adult in any given room. Former long-distance support fighter and resident Smart Guy for his team, Percy's been struggling somewhat finding himself on his own again in Aef but has been very determinedly not working through any of his various traumas and has at least found some steady was to spend time doing forge work and occasionally running around playing steampunk sniper.

Event Plans: So about that magical overload...hah....The moment he starts feeling it Percy's going to be spending about 90% of his time out in the Wilde because he doesn't care much if he explodes, but he'd like to not take any collateral damage with him. Will Henry is 15 years old, he's often noted in the books to be small for his age; underfed and tired. He's mousy and unremarkable. Missing a finger on one hand, luckily not his dominant hand. "Doctor Warthrop chopped it off with a butcher knife." Has a little hat.

Naga things: Small fangs and snake eyes. Shedding skin grossly literally all the time.

Brief:

Will Henry is the son of James Henry, the assistant to the Monstrumologst, Dr. Pellinore Warthrop. When James is infected by a particular parasite while in the line of duty, he and his wife die in a fire related to it. At age 11, Will Henry is left orphaned, also infected, and in the care of Dr. Warthrop.

In his father, the parasite caused spontaneous combustion after weeks of illness and painful sores. In Will, the colony stabilizes, instead granting him 'immortality'. It's claimed he lived to be over a hundred years old, retaining his youth for decades. That doesn't really matter.

Living in the care of Dr. Warthrop is cold. The doctor is neglectful in his depressions and emotionally abusive in his mania. His mood swings revolve around how important to the world he feels at any given time, and what makes him feel most important of all is the study of monstrumology. This is the study of 'aberrant biology', aka the real and biologically fascinating monsters of the world. He enlists Will Henry as his errand boy and general assistant in dissecting them in the basement.

Sometimes they go afield to hunt and research these dangerous creatures. Their 'adventures' are grim, and mostly leave a trail of dead bodies behind them.

* I have an opt-out for issues related to Will Henry's neglect and abuse.

Event Plans: WH may mostly stick to chatting on the network. Little boy uses AIM for first time........ ?! Genuinely game to do some extremely silly texting shenanigans.

Brief: To make a long story very short, she's an AI NPC who didn't realize she wasn't a natural human until she was halfway to winning the kill-or-be-killed Holy Grail War, which is the Eye of God and also a magical super-computer, technically. And the Moon. Also, an entire other game's worth of other stuff happened and she woke up Gilgamesh from a millennium-long nap so they could trample and claw their way to victory, while also dodging and clashing with Hakuno's budding squad of beautiful, OP yandere admirers. It ends with her winning the Holy Grail War, almost getting killed one last time, and then leaving the Moon and Earth behind entirely to start a grand cosmic adventure with Gilgamesh instead. ...again, it's a long story. But, don't let the drama fool you, Hakuno has a good heart and a lot of stubbornness once she puts her mind to something, and she is really, really happy to be here.

Appearance: A handy ref for her Monster form! She is very floof. And shinier.
Brief: A slowly defrosting antisocial grump, Kaede has gotten...slightly, better at being a person than she was when she first arrived. She's formed, like, meaningful relationships with people and remembered what Feelings feel like (the ones that aren't hate or rage). She isn't sure what to do about them, that part is a work in progress. Unlearning years of being prickly and standoffish as a self defense mechanism is unsurprisingly difficult.

Event Plans: Kaede generally has a good handle on her Moon instincts. Supermoon Instincts, not so much. She's mostly out of the nesting season crazies now (she'll still get weirdly protective if small things make fussy baby noises at her), and since she won't be near any territories her Monster brain has carved out as "hers" during the Wild Hunt she won't be super aggressive. Only like, Tuesday night aggressive. She's out here to attack Shades and have a good time. Don't killsteal, that's rude.

Optional challenge mode: She lives in a mansion full of reflective surfaces, though the mansion isn't full of initially friendly people. And most are awake in some form at 3 am. Oops?

General Plans: I'm still interested in continuing memshare threads! I'm slowly chugging along on them, thank you for your patience.

Quest-wise, Kaede's signed up for Eggsitting, Apiary Adventures, and River Cleanup. I'm eying the Dragon Tree III one and Refugee Request too, if anyone is interested in doing those! Or needs a prickly Chimera bodyguard, especially at night.

For the Eggsitting one, any Dingbats she finds can't stay in the Haunted Mansion because it's full of things (read: Kaede's other pets) that will eat them, so she'll be rehoming those. Free familiars? Free familiars. Or keep them just as pets, she's not a cop.
