- Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, check out some quests, and get hopping!
To help get this all started, we've got a nifty form for everyone to fill out! Feel free to keep this either to one comment, or to split it in two - it's your choice.

Introduction: Just an all-around nerd, rly. Don't have much else to say here!

Character Name: Yako Katsuragi
Canon: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Appearance: Just your average Japanese 19-year-old. In Aefenglom, with it's old-timier fashion, she tends to look https://images.plurk.com/Nvqejn8PnX1FUuxa24EU8.png">close to this minus the witch hat (for now).
Brief: An ex-high school girl detective and ex-demon partner, Yako's an adaptable character who's more likely to be responsive to what she perceives the people around her need or want than pursuing something for herself. She has a penchant for getting into other people's business and trying to get to know them, so I'd certainly like to see that continue here. She currently lives with Kaoru Hakaze, Rei Sakuma, and Princess Zelda. She has a terrifyingly large appetite for her size, and I'm sorry to say food is an integral part of her character, so that's going to come up a lot.
Seeking/Offering: As a Witch, and a helpful one, Yako's not hard to spot around the Coven, so she's happy to help anyone who looks like they might be particularly struggling with something. A brusque manner or cold shoulder doesn't easily put her off. Her focus on Coven magic is mostly basic spells for now, but she's learning slowly to specialize in enchanted cooking (think status effects, both good and bad). She's recently made a post on the network about some stuff she found related to the setting of the first TDM, now relevant to more of the setting, and she'll continue to snoop around that topic generally, so let me know if that's something you'd be interested in getting hooked into.

Speaking of trouble, Yako will definitely be hitting up the "Following Rumors" quest, so that would be an easy way for them to meet, and she'll also be providing food/some medical assistance to people beyond the Bright Wall in the "Out of the City" quest. If either of these are quests that Hua Cheng would be interested in pursuing, that certainly provides a pretty easy way to meet up! With 'Following Rumors,' it's a little hard without seeing the exact log contents yet if I'm gonna toplevel or not, but I could certainly write up a custom starter for 'em or tag into yours depending on what ends up making the most sense. :|a

...that said, i can actually see the other quest working too because hua cheng can fight really well with his sword, they could get paired up by the witch who's in charge like if yako's providing relief she can have a guard against threats -- and hua cheng, being a fae and as such kind of vulnerable to the cwyld effects, would benefit from it too over going alone. i could go and sign him up if you'd like to thread that!
i'm up for either (or even both) so just let me know which situation you'd prefer, if any of this interests you.

I can't remember if the Wilde quest would necessitate them being temporarily bonded if they were paired up -- that may need mod clarification, I think it's optional as long as Bonded pairs are supervising, so there can just be Coven witches in the background -- but if you're interested in including that aspect as well, I'd be down for it if that's a thing! Bedivere's question clarifies the sort of stuff Hua Cheng might be expected to deal with.

the quest that required bonds seems to be a different one in the high-risk section, ours is just like "wear gloves etc" and says there'll be supervision if the characters are newbies. so it sounds like we should be clear without it for this particular one! but if you'd like to say the supervising witch recommended it and thread that they get a temporary bond formed for their safety while outside, i'm actually cool with that. it's easy to assume in this situation and sounds like a good thread start tbh, haha
were you thinking of threading this on your catch-all or would you like to separate it somewhere? i'm 100% good with either option

yes, i was thinking of probably just doing it in my catch-all (i do a lot of mobile tags so stuff just loads in easier on one page...) for simplicity. let me know if you'd like me to write the starter or if you'd rather do it yourself o7

with regrettable art and questionable translation of the later chapters, god bless, but it manages to be so good in spite of that. Shockingly, someone's even taking a crack at a re-translation of it on Tumblr, and I'm refreshing for updates frantically every day.I'm canon-blind to FFXV but I have absorbed enough information about Ignis to know this is going to either be a match made in heaven or hell. I'd love for them to interact somehow -- are you having him sign up for any quests this month? In addition to Coven stuff that would be an easy way to meet, or we could have them bump into each other in a class and she could help him figure out this Witch thing a little bit more.
AND HONESTLY I just collect patterns/fabric for historical clothing, it's a real problem. Q_Q

YES I signed him up for some quests! Walking Armor, festival prep, some clothes repair, and Prompto signed him up for flirting lessons (end him and me)! Coven stuff is great, too. I have a witch-related prompt on the intro! LMK if you want a linky~

WRT threads, I see you've got a lot of Coven threads already, so let's mix it up with some quests! Hmm... while normally I'd say food prep is the obvious choice for them bumping into each other, I kind of think it'd be funny for them to either bump into each other at the clothes shop (Yako ruining her clothes through some magical mishap, probably) OR Yako having to deal with Ignis during the second part of the flirting class (the attendees will learn how to take the social skills to the next level and take to the streets to busk for money bit, unless he'd just actually eject his soul out of his body rather than try his newly-earned techniques on some rando).
I can see either leading to a pretty funny thread, so lmk which one you'd be more inclined towards -- I can put up a starter in my catch-all unless you'd rather tag in!
