- Hello, thank you for joining us, and welcome to Aefenglom! The Intro Log will be going on later today at 3PM EST; keep an eye out for it! For now though, it's time to mingle and make friends, grab some CR, check out some quests, and get hopping!
To help get this all started, we've got a nifty form for everyone to fill out! Feel free to keep this either to one comment, or to split it in two - it's your choice.

Introduction: I'm Vivi! I live in South Florida, work in the nonprofit sector and like hedgehogs and soymilk a whole lot. My interests are listed above, but if it exists I've probably consumed it. I'm looking forward to playing with you all!
Character Name: (Brother) Nier
Canon: Nier...you know, Nier from Nier.
Appearance: Liiike this. 6 foot 1, packing a decent amount of muscle underneath the 99232 layers of clothing, pale skin with bags under his eyes that reach his feet, a very feminine face and scars up the wazoo across his body. He's a vampire here, but rest assured, he already looked like one beforehand.
Brief: A capable mercenary who fights for a living. At a front, Nier is muted, nonchalant and on the brusque side but no less amiable in spite of it. He puts the Brother in Brother Nier: he really will big brother just about anyone. Even if you're a stranger, he'll be quick to help you in a pinch or go to great lengths to take care of your problems. He's open minded and nurturing and can tolerate most people with ease. It's difficult to hurt his feelings in any capacity to a point where it's genuinely alarming. The guy's incredibly adventurous, thrives on thrill and has a bit too much bravado for his own good. He harbors a remarkably strong sense of justice, although what he considers "justice" is not as fair as you think it'd be — it's parried by a staunch ruthlessness that's often terrifying.
But here's the thing: while he may seem totally sane and for the most part, put together, he's far from it. Nier just about killed the human race to satiate his need for revenge. He has violent impulses and a taste for blood, and some notable edgelord tendencies to boot once you get to know him. There's a lot going on beneath the surface, and the closer you get to him, the more likely it is to manifest. If he cares about you, he will destroy essentially anyone and anything to keep you safe.
He's described as an unyielding protag and there's a reason why: he will do anything at any given moment. There is no stopping him.
Seeking/Offering:
- Nier is a vampire, and he doesn't cope well with having his energy levels minimized. SO. He's going to be looking for blood. And in exchange for blood, he'll do anything: he's known for his tendency to take odd jobs that nobody else wants to do in canon. So housework, bodyguarding, fetch quests, if you've got blood or coin he'll do it.
- If your character is looking for friends or a hard sell when it comes to friendship, Nier is your man. He has the patience of a saint and will fight to protect you for any given reason, and being everyone's big brother is His Thing.
- If you need someone to take care of your character or babysit them extensively, he will also do that without any issue!
- Negative CR comes to him as easily as positive CR does, especially with how righteous and violent he is. He's a lot more eager to fight than you'd think.
- He does a lot of very wild things, as evidenced by him trying to jump into a river and suck a merrow dry on the TDM, so anyone who is willing to be his straight man can go for it.

Connor would like more friends- he is a social guy, and he thrives on having more people to learn about. Also he's never really had a big brother kind of friend before, and would probably be kind of unsure of how to feel about it? I think he'd like it though!

more importantly: I WOULD LOVE SOME CR WITH HIM!! it's funny you mention specifically characters who are a hard sell when it comes to friendship because Yuuri here is such a cagey motherfucker when it comes to presenting herself as anything other than The Nice Oneesan Next Door :) so i think having ya boy nier be a protag at her would be great

NO IN ALL SERIOUSNESS I’m always happy when people recognize him so that thrills me to hear! Hi, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I saw you were looking for characters with sibling issues too and Bro Nier specifically is a walking sibling issue, the biggest there is — his problem is that he quite literally does not know how to detach himself from the title of “big brother” because it was his reason for living for so long. So these two would 100% have some interesting CR!
He will definitely be her friend and try to...out-older sibling her...he’s good if you want someone to force your character to be taken care of so that’ll happen! But they can lowkey commiserate over their roles in life. The only difference is that his led him to murder everyone but it’s chill and all you know.

Hi Vivi, I'm Emily! Bringing in Sasuke from Naruto, who I think pretty safely qualifies as a "hard sell" for friendship but he's grown out of his terrorism phase so it's become quite a bit easier. This sounds like it would be amazing cr, whether positive or negative! I'm so down for both.

Sasuke is the textbook definition of a hard sell, yeah, but honestly? Nier really won’t be put off by him which is hilarious. Sasuke could say whatever and Nier would be like oh yeah, that’s cool man. I can’t wait to see what happens here. Trauma bonding in the future is the goal.

hey, vivi!! I'm silvie, it's super nice to meet you and welcome to the game!! I loooove love love the original nier, so I'm really excited to see what he'll get up to in game. fetch quests for blood is brilliant and hilarious.
fugo is kind of cagey and distant when it comes to friendships, but underneath his prickles he tends to get more attached than he lets on or realizes. he's for sure the persnickety little brother type. plus, if/when it ever gets to that point, I think they could have some pretty interesting discussions about ruthlessness and "justice".

Nier sounds a lot like someone who'd fit right into her canon, and kind of like the people Alex had gotten quite close to. Him sucking a merrow dry might concern her (since she is one) but Id be interested to see how their cr would go! She has had the role of straight man before, so that she could definitely provide.
