January Midmonth
| Midmonth Mod Post: January Hello, Aefenglom! Here's your monthly midmonth mod post. First, as always, some reminders:
• On that same note, an OOC post for escape plotting has also gone up! Go figure out how the Magnificent Eight are getting out of there! • Instead, there's the ongoing, all month background event for Dorchacht already live! See how players have affected a city once darkened by dictatorship, and what may remain beneath the shiny exterior of change. Peace doesn't come in a few months time, after all. • It's finally app month! You know what that means - Reserves and the TDM will both go up on the 17th; reserves will open at midnight EST, while the TDM will go up at 3PM EST. Meanwhile, applications will open a week later at midnight EST on the 24th, and close at the end of the month. January is our last uncapped application round. • Our activity check also begins on 24th! While we'll have the requirements on the activity check itself as a reminder, here they are right now so you can start figuring things out: 10 comments minimum from you across two threads OR one network post/log made by you with at least 5 comments from you and a second, separate thread with at least 5 comments from you.In addition, players are allowed to take a strike if they have at least half of the necessary activity; since it's a TDM month, if you'd like to use threads present there, you're more than welcome to. Inbox threads and personal overflow threads also work - they just have to be from the current month! • The calendar has all these dates as always, so check it out! The Aefenglom Journal The beginning of Ieneuer brought exciting news from abroad - the Circle of Three, Dorchacht's current ruling council, arrived by ship bearing the news that Morgana Drummond has been run out for good and the Monsters of the city walk the streets free. Refugees from Dorchacht, residing at the edge of the Haven near the Bright Wall since being brought to Aefenglom at the end of September, have largely chosen to stay, citing Mirrorbound assistance and camaraderie as their reason. One refugee named Orin provided a statement to the Journal: "We feel like part of their community now. You don't abandon the people who helped you on your feet, soon as them black skies clear up. You stand with 'em." An inspiring show of loyalty! It seems that not everyone is so happy to have them here, both refugees and Mirrorbound. Graffiti has been spotted around the Haven telling them to go back to Dorchacht, but the Lead Investigator of the City Guard says these sorts of mischief-makers will be taken well in hand, same as those arrested in Deceuer in the Aristocratic District for plotting criminal misconduct. "Such behavior will not be tolerated any longer," she assures. "Aefenglom is meant to be a safe city for all." This just in! A series of fires broke out simultaneously on the evening of the 14th, clustered in the Haven, the Western Residential District, and other areas and businesses frequented by many of the visitors to our city. As well, we're hearing strange rumors of refugees and Mirrorbound, prominent members of their community, going missing, vanished without a trace. The Lead Investigator of the City Guard declined to comment, but could these happenings be related? No doubt the Guard will be on the case. Meanwhile, our neighbors to the North in Dorchacht are reportedly still rebuilding after earning their freedom, and starting to follow in the footsteps of Aefenglom's own Wilders, to begin taking back their surrounding lands. Reports have it that our own Mirrorbound have been vital in these efforts, and many are searching for Dorchacht recruits that have gone missing in the wilderness outside the city. We hope for their safe return as well. OOC Updates
• Thanks to Owlie and Yuff, who set up an information tracking post for player use! Go add your fun findings for others to check out. This will be implemented into a permanent post on the navigation before next month! • Thanks to Jem for putting up the first EMP/ATP Meme for 2020! It's still going, so feel free to check it out. Feedback We're here again to offer everyone the chance to give some feedback, if there's anything that you've noticed or would like to possibly seem implemented! Talking Points:
• Quests. In general, what kind of quests would you like to see more of? How can we improve with these? What's working, and what isn't? • Plot investigation feedback. We've gotten quite a few good investigations, and honestly it's been fantastic seeing what everyone does with their information. • Events. What type of ones would you like to see, what ones are working, what aren't? • General feelings on: the game, the timing of posts, how events and such are set up, etc. • How do you like the event tracking posts? Would you like to see it incorporated in future events, or is it better off as an "as needed" sort of thing? • And more! Tell us what's on your mind. Responses to feedback may be delayed; this month is a busy one! |
