A Tale of Two Cities: OOC Tracker
- Welcome to the OOC post for this month's event! We mentioned on the Plotting Post earlier this week that we'd have one of these, and that we'd like you all to post to it when your characters do anything that might help or harm each situation - and we mean it.
Just find the thread that correlates to what city your characters' actions are in and post using the form below. Each city thread has an example on it to show what we mean and how to do it, so keep it in mind when you're posting your own! While we're leaving this up entirely to player discretion - and we mean that, so please don't ask us - just remember: even small actions can have great consequences.
And now, the form!
- Character Name:
Choice: Witch or Monster
Action: What your character did
Overall Effect: Was it overall a positive outcome, or a negative one? You can rate this on a scale of 1 to 5 if you'd like, or leave it ague, like "Somewhat positive" or "Definitely a bad time" and so on. Please explain your reasonings for this as clearly as possible.
Proof: The thread it occurred in; if you have plans for it to happen within a thread you're still currently threading out, then you can link that here instead! You may handwave certain things, but don't expect you'll be able to do that with things that will cause a larger impact (e.g. handwaving rousing speeches vs an insurrection). Remember, even the smallest action can help someone.
The cut-off for posting to this entry is October 3rd, though given our next TDM is set in the future, characters might be seeing effects of their actions a little sooner than that...
As a note, outside of the top level linked to the investigations/plotting post on the Event Log itself, investigations are closed for the month. All that are already present will be tended to, but until October reins it head over no new inquires will be accepted at this time. OOCly this is to ensure we've got everything under control with such a large scale event, ICly this is due to the current state of affairs.
AEFENGLOM
EXAMPLE
Choice: Witches for the both of us
Action: Polly investigated the sewers with a friend after hearing rumors about a market beneath the city. They found a ring of breeders using Monsters as stock and freed them, injuring several of the people involved. She's taken the breeders to the proper authorities and seen them taken care of.
Overall Effect: Positive! I'd rank this at about a 4.
Proof: It hasn't happened yet, but we're leading up to it here!
no subject
Choice: monster (harpy)
Action: talking shit about aefenglom,, in aefenglom. four is promoting monster compulsion and mudslinging bonds, nerissa, the coven, etc.
Overall Effect: IT’S PRETTY BAD . . . negative, for sure.
Proof: top level

Choice: Witch
Action: Uhh, learned some necromancy from a merchant and bought a dead dragon's claw from a vendor, thus fueling the trade/sale of rare Monster parts and engaging in banned magic practices... :(
Overall Effect: He doesn't mean for it to be harmful, but intent isn't everything, and I'd consider this as having a somewhat negative impact. A minuscule detail in the grand scheme of things, but it's there!
Proof: A top-level thread with the question thread in question lined int he body of the prompt.
no subject
Choice: Monsters
Action: When Makoto during the full moon got attacked by an anti coven egg slinger, he attacked back! And Caren waded in and broke it up, with full intent to drag them to the Coven for justice and chill potions.
Overall Effect: Not bad! Monster senpai is clearly helping monster kohai, even on the full moon and full fluff.
Proof: currently ongoing here

Choice: Monster (Momiji); Witch (Fionn)
Action: While following up with a potential client for Particularly Good Finders, Momiji and Fionn stumbled upon a mystery involving the theft of a set of dragon eggs and a missing dragon. Their impromptu investigation revealed that both had been sold off to black market purveyors, and together they were able to locate the underground storehouse where the dragon and a few other rare Monsters were being kept for sale as "trophy' pets. They freed the Monsters, and the storehouse was reported to the city authorities--but the eggs were never recovered, and the storehouse was likely part of a larger operation the leadership of which remains uncovered.
Overall Effect: Probably a 3-4 on the positive scale? Fewer Monsters getting sold is neat, and they at least brought to light the existence of this slaver-trade. But they didn't root out or identify the ring's leadership, so there's reason to expect the trade will simply relocate and continue.
Proof: The investigation is being threaded out here; will probably edit with a separate, backdated log for the rescue.
no subject
Choice: Turnskin, Faun, Witch
Action: Freeing as many willing monsters from the black market auction as she/they can
maybe torching the facility tbd/ Handwaving helping residents being targeted for being bonded*Overall Effect: Positive! Freeing unwilling captives can't be a bad thing, right? Aside from the potential destruction of auction property...
Proof: WIP log
*- only fie, totally fine if this can't be handwaved for results, figured it was worth a mention
Re: AEFENGLOM
Choice: Monster
Action: In the latter half of the month, Lambert went to scare the shit out of and bust some Bond-harassers and harassed auctioneers, only for that karma to circle around and getting caught in the black market for auction himself. In a vampire frenzy, Paloma drained/killed the folks involved. The bodies were dumped/burned to the best of their ability with no magic.
Overall Effect: Positive? The black market is down a couple of witches engaged in auctioneering, there are a few less monsters in circulation up for sale, opportunistic harassers have a mad bunny to worry about running into. But it's one isolated big incident and a few near-misses, and doesn't get at the heart of the matter.
Proof: Thread in Progress/Lambert's toplevel.
