CR & PLOTTING: AUGUST

While July might've been a little hectic on the real life side of things (show of hands for everyone who's grateful August is here now), in-game, it was a little bit more lowkey. With the weather reaching its peak in summer, a few Witches decided to bring it down a notch - or several, resulting in a fairly snowy month. A last minute snowstorm stirred up at the end, leaving the cold to roll into August's early weeks - mind yourselves, everyone!

The weather aside, the city and its people didn't take too much of a break. The Coven, deciding that a follow up on the cave was necessary, especially with the discovery of a ley-line beneath it, put out a request to help get Smugha Cave into more suitable base order. They were immensely grateful for the help they received, too; not everyone in the Coven is trained to handle what the Wilde can dish out. With the area better secured, they turn their eyes to the next part of their plan to establish a firm foothold in the Wilde: connecting directly to the ley-line, creating an anchor point for teleportation. Amidst this, Nerissa Bell - head of the Coven - called for a bit of a meeting for everyone who could attend, just for everyone to share any information, queries, and so on - if they'd like, or if they could. With those major points out of the way...

Quest: Special Training

As more than a few of you have already noticed, a quest log will be going up on August 9th for some training by the Wilders. While not exactly an event proper, this will be an opportunity for characters to head into the deeper part of the Wilde in a similar fashion to the last one in June for the exploration of Smugha Cave. We won't spoil too many details for all of you, but just like the last one, it might have some connection to a place in the last dream everyone got to have - that is, July's TDM. Sign-ups are on-going and open to everyone, so if it piques your interest now or when the log goes up, feel free to toss your character up there!

Event: The Black City

Speaking of shared dreams: no points for guessing what our next event log is. Like clockwork, characters will fall asleep on the night of the 16th regardless of if they can truly sleep or need to - and awaken in a dream. They'll find themselves within a city not unlike Aefenglom in structure, but with a major difference: there aren't any Monsters walking freely. Instead, they're leashed and collared, heads lowered in submission - and those who have Monster traits coming in will find they're under the same curse as these ones: they have to obey every order that comes from a Witch's mouth, whether it's a joke or not. Attempting to fight it will give them pain, nausea, and other adverse effects in increasing intensity until they give in, or until the Witch lifts their order.

And just like in the last shared dream, as well as the TDMs, a character's rate of transformation and the number of spells/how powerful they are can be played with - it is a dream, after all!

Brief: Daenerys is a character who inspires great hope and longs to return home to her birthright. She's pretty serious and gets involved in lots of political/moral drama. Usually with 3 dragons at her side, she is ferocious in her own right but is very quick to sympathize with the plight of the common man as a Queen and person who overcame adversity. She's taken from S7, EP1 — which means no trigger to bells or dead friends.
Choice: Monster, dragon.
Event Plans:

– I would really like to have Daenerys hit the ground running on her own feelings on this event. ✔ trauma in regards to slavery ✔ chains and collars ✔ no other choice but to obey. LIKE, HELLO THIS IS TRIGGER CITY. Daenerys will most definitely try to break any physical chain she has – failing miserably until she causes herself physical harm (broken skin, metal sores, etc). I am down with NPCing anyone or having meaner/antagonistic people order her around.

– I would love for signs of Dany becoming a dragon to coincide with her own panic attacks / fighting on this. I'm particularly interested in scale growth and horns over time! Please help her feel better about ripping herself apart from the inside out. :")

– Anyone want to come up with a plan against Witches who may or may not be abusing the status quo in this dream? It may not lead anywhere and it may cause some inner conflict between her CR, but Daenerys is absolutely vengeful so if she sees a certain chaste being mistreated on any level, she would seek justice as she sees fit. I am down for negative CR and repercussions!

General Plans:

I have nothing really planned past the intro log and event. Do you want anything specific? I can definitely reach out more proactively away from the event log / intro log – just gotta help work with me. The down and dirty is Daenerys will be choosing an apartment to live in alone (with... Jorah nearby) and adjusting to this world. Of course, she will be withdrawn at first and fairly distant, so if we have building CR... she may look noticeably drained as the month goes on. Please help give her hope! If anyone wants Dany on a quest she can't offer too much but it'd be great to see her fail at something since her perfectionism runs high. :')

When it comes to working against any abusive witches, whether they be players or NPCs, Steven is going to be using his illusion magic/glamours to make any monsters that are in danger appear as humans long enough to get away. That's the sort of thing that would go well in tandem with people who are willing to be more aggressive about breaking away.

Of course he would get pretty spooked of Dany started hurting/killing people, but he would probably try to comfort/talk down more than try to punish her for it. He's known some trauma fueled dangerous people before, and it sure doesn't get better by pushing them into a corner.

Hi there!! I'm not 100% sure on what the flexibility is with NPCs or players specifically being cruel to monsters, but I would be down for having these two have differing opinions on how to handle the situation. I'll definitely seek a mod answer so we don't just assume there is some kind of cruelty and abuse going on to that degree.

I do want to have Dany make the mistake on acting, abuse or not, to those who were using the system to order around monsters – particularly her. At the very least, Steven could catch that moment.

Also: real interesting take with the illusion magic!!

Tony isn't a malicious or necessarily aggressive type but he does tend to say things flippantly and fail to remember consequences so being a witch and giving orders is a possible thing? He does have a habit of accidentally pissing people off so it could start a rivalry/issue? Although he would also/still try to be supportive about changes because he's just like that. Which might be worse and more fun actually.

That sounds great! Dany is not use to people being so blunt with her, as her status is usually common knowledge by her canon point. She'd be very defensive over the whole designated roles similar to servants/slaves – but besides that a rivalry can be a safe bet either way. :') She's use to men trying to challenge her!

Tony probably won't mean to cause problems but he's almost guaranteed to just because he gets excited and things just happen. So yeah he's probably not really initially going to take it very seriously and that is going to get him in trouble, I'm sure.

So Percy has a bad tendency towards making demands without thinking and also has some major issues with dragons at present. Could make fore some interesting conflict?

it has been so long since i was a fate/ fanatic... gomen. i definitely would love to have some kind of familiarity with their regal titles!!!!!! but dany will definitely not allow him to talk down to her if it comes to it, whoops. inexperienced little fireball targaryen versus king of kings will be Interesting for sure. she's a little too serious for her own good but if it's all in good nature, i can see their cr going mostly positive if not challenging each other to be and do their best.

i was thinking i could hit up your top-level on the intro log and then maybe we could figure something out for the black city event? ozy won't be as hungry for Revolution ('cause, you know, he kinda said no to moses a bunch before finally conceding, plus he'll recognize it as another dream), but he won't want any monster he knows to be in that situation. so that could create maybe somewhat complicated cr depending on how that all goes down, if you're up for that!

dany'll be zipping around during black city with what i mentioned and also jorah will be p likely involved in some of her stuff initially since they're both new and latched to the hip AND stupid when it comes to knowing everything is a dream. magic and tech are consistently fucking them up.

this is for me to mostly keep track of what i'm doing, but really interested in eren being a positive influence for her when she starts dragon turning uwu adoring where they're going so far and what can come after that, they are on a lovely track so far! black city dreaming is where our jams are at and i'm extremely. extremely excited for that because of their similarities and parallels when it comes to freedom.

i'd want to plan more but until the log actually goes up and we get more context..... BUT IM COMING FOR YOU

SEE DANY... is absolutely going to be so conflicted. the monster transformation thing tugs at her ability to have a choice, while the actual Dragon part will not really hit home and rather confirm that she was always a dragon, etc etc. weird creepy targaryen shit. she will need support to keep herself from going mad and i think jorah and eren are off to a good start as far as people she can trust to do so -- especially when her and eren have that similarity.

I KNOW, I'M SLAMMING MY HANDS ON THE TABLE FOR THE ACTUAL LOG TO PLOT. LOL.

Just popping by to say I love our current thread and am super interested in building more CR with Dany. I've only watched GoY up to Season... I think 6, but I actually cannot remember. OTL BUT I know (vaguely) about a variety of things that are yet to come, so whatever's been in our tags so far is still OK. XD

Honestly, once S7 is done, it's not worth it. S8 was the pits. Dany is only up to S7, so there is definitely no spoilers for her yet! I'm very much loving our thread too!
