Brief: Kor is a kind-hearted, optimistic and generally friendly lad who's always out to see the best in people and in the world around him, often to the point of naivete. He's rather dim-witted and has a pretty sheltered world-view due to the way he was raised, often leading him to make uneducated or even accidentally callous remarks about what he encounters. But he's loyal and full of determination, so when he sets his mind to something, you can bet he'll see it through. As he always says, "Kor Meteor doesn't just try, Kor Meteor does!" All of this masks an inner fear of being alone and just wants to be surrounded by people that he cares about and care about him in turn.
What is your character currently up to?Mostly he's been practicing and advancing the concept of a "heart link" magic he's been working on that allows its users to "dive" into the feelings and memories of another person or thing.
Plans for the month: i got nothing. I kind of fell off the wagon hard the past couple months so I'm trying to ease back into things and get some new CR going after losing a lot of it to drops. So with that said, right now I'm open to doing quests! I'll post something over on the quest plotting post later but if anyone is interested in doing stuff I'm happy to plot here too.
Types of CR wanted: Any kinds, really! He's the rambunctious hero sort, always butting into people's business and wanting to help out and being involved and do good even if it's inconvenient to him.

(i.e., starts out negative but through the power of character development eventually becomes positive is okay in book, but CR that remains antagonistic doesn't really interest me.)

Monster or Witch? Monster, Fae
Appearance: His true form is like this! But he hides pretty much everything but his wings under an illusion when he's out in public, so most people will see him as this. His wings are very bright and hard to miss so he keeps them under a cloak a good 90% of the time too.
Brief: Orphaned magical boy grappling with his guardian's manipulation turns into orphaned fairy boy grappling with horrible new instincts that accentuate his worst traits. He absolutely hates being a Fae, but is trying to make the most of it. But he's got two bonds so at least he probably won't go feral!
Personality-wise, Ferran is generous and hardworking for the most part, and adapts pretty easily to most conversations and people, and more than willing to butt in if he thinks someone needs help. He likes socializing and getting people to like him! Except when he's in a bad mood, and he doesn't want to talk to anyone about anything, but especially not his problems. He can be bitter and takes his own morals more seriously than any laws, so he's not afraid to get some shady things done if he thinks he should. (Example: he helped his bonded keep someone hostage who was brainwashed by the Evergreen Circle to keep them safe.) He's used to sneaking around places he shouldn't be, which could be a good way for someone to come across him by accident?
What is your character currently up to? Making bad decisions, but also trying to make good decisions? Which is to say, he's too unsure about navigating the political side of Aefenglom as himself so he's doing it glamored as his charismatic guardian instead! There's no way this can go wrong!!! Otherwise, you can see what he gets up to in his profile: he works at a bakery, and is training with his Fae magic (this month: portals and traps!) and archery so he isn't a completely useless blob if something dangerous comes around.
Plans for the month: Look, a log with the aforementioned portals, traps and glamor! He may join the Reds just for fun and curiosity and make some Art and pull some pranks. I'll probably put up a toplevel on the quest log or a new prompt for it on my own, idk. He might also do some activist things under the glamor, since that's important.
Types of CR wanted: In the interest of sparking conversation: sad people for him to bother! People to bother him when he's sad! Someone to drag him into shenanigans, possibly of a shady nature! Friends, people to judge, friends to judge people with! People for him to clash with or challenge his stubborn "knows best" mindset! And especially, bad influences!! But also the standard answer: yes, everything.
Any types of CR or situations you'd rather avoid? I'm not interested in sexual things with him, but uhhh I guess I'm game for most everything else? He is taken x2 but flirting is not out of the realm of possibility.

Monster or Witch? Monster! He's a chimera, and fully transformed at this point.
Appearance: I don't have any art, but I've described all of his changes at his info post here!
Brief: Zack is (if the username didn't give it away!) an ex-soldier who signed up with a military organization with the best of intentions of wanting to be a hero, only to have all of his idealism ground down by the reality of learning that he worked for a company who wanted to do terrible things, including experiments on him and others. Fun! Despite all of that awful stuff, he's a strong-willed and compassionate person who still wants to be in a hero in some way, and now functions as a mercenary picking up odd jobs. He's dead back home (womp womp), so he's accepted that this world is all he's got, but still wants to help his other friends get back if possible.
What is your character currently up to? He's dealing with the disappearance of some canonmates and how that's affecting other canonmates of his, though his two Bonded are still here, so he's holding up okay. He's still taking up jobs, still eager to help wherever he can with getting rid of the Cwyld and trying to make this world a better place. Along with keeping an eye and ear out for any hints on how to get his friends back to their home world.
Plans for the month: The plan is to put up a top level for the quests, and he'll be doing Millie's Millinery (want to help him groom some feathers from his hair and wings?), Helping Hands (he'll be either carting around building supplies or fighting things), and A Whole New Wilde (more fighting!). How involved he is in the event depends on what exactly it is, but it's likely something he'll be interested in. Oh, he's also got to deal with his Bonded going rogue, but you know, all in a day's work.
Types of CR wanted: Along with expanding on CR that's already been started, I definitely feel like he needs some new stuff too and would love to get some of that going! Fellow soldiers and fighters are always an easy in, but he's friendly enough that he'll talk to just about anyone, and will also jump in to protect people if needed. He's the sort of person who'll do a favor for a near-stranger just because he feels bad. Negative CR is possible depending on the character/situation, but he's usually able to get along with just about anyone, even sourpusses.
Any types of CR or situations you'd rather avoid? He won't do anything sexual with anyone other than Aerith, but he is an unapologetic flirt! So there's that.

Monster or Witch? Witch, specialising in Illusion, Abjuration (healing and barriers mostly, but he can do counterspells), and Evocation (major healing and ice/water/fire magic).
Appearance: Since he's gained extra beef since coming to Aef this is more accurate than anything canon (just add nailpolish).
Brief: A veteran idol of the duo Re:vale, Momo's public face is known to be kind, sweet and energetic. This is still true of him outside work, but all the shit he's gone through in the music industry to help himself and his partner succeed means he's also cunning, excellent at reading people and subtle manipulations, and adapts himself to others incredibly well. He will go feral on anyone or anything that threatens his loved ones, and has a massive pile of self-esteem issues.
What is your character currently up to? He just lost his first Bond, Lio, who he had for pretty much exactly a year, so that's definitely going to be upsetting for him though he'll be trying not to show it. His main method of not showing it is probably just going to be throwing himself into work as a distraction, so he'll be taking on a lot on top of his usual radio/modelling/acting/music stuff.
Plans for the month: As far as quests go I'm interested in Red and Blue, Risque Business, Moss Management and potentially Phylax Fun though I'd have to have Momo summon his phylax first (I've already decided what it will be, I just never got around to having him do it last month). And also the usual Helping Hands and Whole New Wilde. He'll definitely be involved on the event too, and probably bringing along the fancy plot trinket he got after last event to make sure they're not dealing with another Cwyldheart.
Types of CR wanted: Unoriginal anything, but he does need to get some stronger, more consistent CR he might be more willing to confide in, because it takes him A Long Time to trust people and a lot of his older CR dropped earlier in the year. He gets on well with just about anyone because of his adaptability, but in particular both energetic types and introverts (since his partner is one so he's used to pacing himself to them), other entertainers, and people who are interested in continuing to investigate the Cwyld more deeply would be good.
Any types of CR or situations you'd rather avoid? He's unavailable for romantic CR and obviously I'd rather not have someone try to murder him off-hand, but that's about it.

Plurk/Discord, etc: I'm rarely on Plurk but it's LexiL if you want to add me there! I'm better able to be reached on Discord at ladylazarus#2235 and always excited to plot.
Interests: I'm a violinist and a poet-slash-writer. I have three tiny kids so while they're not an INTEREST per se they occupy a heck of a lot of my time. My degree is in linguistics. I like makeup, fashion, and style, film, stand-up comedy, basically every kind of music, poetry, and any provocative combination of the above. I like running and yoga. I can give you some good instant pot recipes. I sew and I'm a cosplayer. My fandoms are Death Note because it permanently stunted something about me when I was in college, apparently, and a smattering of other anime from when I had time to be a total anime and comics geek (Yu Yu Hakusho! Haibane Renmei! Watchmen! ...yeah!). While I don't have the expendable time for the One Pieces of the world or Critical Roll, I like a lot of animation geared toward adults like Bojack Horseman and Big Mouth. Lately I'm watching The Handmaid's Tale and What We Do in the Shadows and whatever Disney is cranking out with the Marvel logo on it to appease us. I'm not much of a gamer, but when I'm playing something, it's on my Switch and it's probably low-stress and zen like Animal Crossing or (lately) Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town.

Character Name: L Lawliet (but he goes by Linden Tailor here. This is probably how you know him, or will come to know him.)
Canon: Death Note
Monster or Witch? Witch
Appearance: L's a pale and sickly kind of guy who looks about 5'8" when he slouches (which is always) and would be about 5'10" max if you put him on a stretching rack. Narrow-boned and way too thin, he leaves a shabby and underwhelming physical impression. He's of mixed Russian, Japanese, English, and "French or Italian" descent. He has shaggy black hair and round, grey eyes that are usually over-dilated to appear black and have dark hollows under them (one of his more memorable features). Though L turned 27 in Aefenglom back in October, he retains a rangy and adolescent look, probably due to a lifetime of bad habits and poor nutrition. Overall, he looks pretty unhealthy, and the anemia from all that blood magic isn't really helping.
While jeans and t-shirts aren't readily available in a pseudo-Victorian setting, L still favors a plain, comfortable and minimalist fashion sense in neutral colors, dressing in the style of a young man in the upper middle class who has decided to take off or unfasten half of his outfit. This has changed a bit since he Bonded to Light, who engages in keeping L a little more groomed and presentable. Ties are looser, but at least fastened; jackets stay mended, and rows of buttons are aligned properly. New pieces are in his proper size now, instead of several sizes too large.
Brief: In his world, L was a reclusive and eccentric genius who worked as a private investigator on an international level. With a reputation so solid that he was able to mobilize the world's police forces at will, he lived in the shadows with his name and face unknown to the public and solved over 1,000 cases successfully. Just second to his perfect record, he was known for his arrogance and tendency to cherry-pick only the cases that interested him, the last of which was the Kira investigation, during which he met Light Yagami and his ultimate match.
L's been in Aefenglom for two years, having arrived with the very first batch of Mirrorbound. He's on the Mirrorbound council. He is Bonded to Myr (witch), Light Yagami (witch), and Near (monster). During his time in Geardagas, he's worked as a runetcher, a volunteer tutor, and teacher at the Harbor District orphanage. Though brilliant, he's socially broken and maladjusted after years of solving cases in a dark padded room, and he struggles with the loss of identity that comes from leaving an all-defining job in his world. He suffers no shortage of growing pains as a result of being required to participate in a society and reciprocal relationships for the first time ever. That being said, he's found catharsis and comfort in the connections he's forged, developed and grown in positive directions, and is even currently working as a detective once more alongside Light Yagami.
As a witch, he is a habitual and perhaps even excessive practitioner of blood magic, using it to kick up most of his spells a notch or two, since he's no stranger to burning himself out to achieve his goals. His elemental specialties are lightning and ice, and he has a few good offensive spells that pair well with Light's primarily defensive magic. Still, L's real magical talent lies in the subtler arts of illusion and divination, both of which are helpful to him as a detective and perhaps even sort of innate.
Aefenglom is the best possible afterlife he could imagine for himself and he is interested in finding a way to live out his remaining days here. Gleefully, this puts him at direct odds with Light, who wants to find a way to go home. L, who thrives on conflict and associates it closely with affection, wouldn't have it any other way.
What is your character currently up to? L is working at his detective agency in the entertainment district with Light Yagami. Their associate Niles has vanished back through his mirror. L has a new phylax that looks like a horse-sized orca whale, and will also be adjusting to one of his monster Bonds becoming a witch, and his other monster Bond becoming a different kind of monster. Pressure and tensions are rising with canonmates and others closely associated who are concerned about the whole Kira Issue. It's a problem, because L is pretty happy with the status quo as he grows closer to Light on a personal level.
Plans for the month: I would like to work on resolving threads that are ongoing but have important and potentially influential conclusions (one reason I haven't been starting a lot of new stuff since the beginning of May). For that reason my plans are probably on the quieter and more slice-of-life side, focusing on Bonds and growing used to the new orca. I definitely want a swimming open log at some point since it'll be hot and L has a whale phylax now. I MIGHT send him on the quest.
Types of CR wanted: NEW STUFF. I need to spread out a bit since CR with L (who is odd and slow to trust) can get very insular even as it deepens to the point of establishing rewarding and satisfying arcs. Positive or negative are both equally welcome, and I'm especially keen on those interactions that turn into deeper complex CR with repeated encounters and evolving dynamics. Professional connections are always great. Petty squabbles that turn into turf feuds or cute familiarity through routine are also great (and I'm down to handwave stuff if our characters have had reasons to interact offscreen. I'm creative about making this kind of thing work so just let me know where they might have bumped into each other and I'm sure I can work it into my creature of habit's day.)

More at this time would be both unwieldy and unrealistic since he's not much for casual encounters (he tried it, and as an intense and obsessive character who desires meaning in EVERYTHING it sat weird with him).

Brief: Ex-prostitute turned secretary for a jack-of-all-trades duo and club singer for the mafia. A big sis trying to be worthy of that title again and just over all trying to be a better person. She’s less skittish now but she’s still pretty hesitant.
Her background does include a lot of abuse and forced prostitution so if you’d rather avoid those topics or opt out let me know! They are not likely to come up but you never know where things go with rp.
What is your character currently up to? Ive been super behind so nothing going on right now. She has two witch bonds at the moment. She does administrative work for the tattoo shop and does singing gigs at different clubs/bars/restaurants.
Plans for the month: Getting back on the saddle so I’d like to focus on cr building/re-building. It is mating season for her type of fish so she’ll be more affectionate (doesn’t have to be sexual, she might just be extra cuddly and doting). I’d like her to help out some of the new people or anyone in general, just a more active role in things. I’ll try to do more tagging out, but if you’ve got a post going let me know and I’ll check it out.

walks in a week late with starbucks butHello, you said someone to take care of... while Ferran is self-sufficient (and tries to take the mom friend role himself) for the most part, he definitely needs a hug like. all the time. Since Alex works at Inkchanted, they could meet/have met there, since Ferran's bonded does some of the designs and enchanting?
I've got a log and quest toplevel up, but I could also see him at least coming across the picnicking stuff somehow, since he's trying to get more comfortable with being outside the city. He'll also probably be involved with the plot coming up regarding the restless spirits, if that's more up your alley.

offputting/off in general, 6'1", lithe but muscular, broad ribs/shoulders, tiny waist, tiny voldemort nose, large, round and lightless eyes, perfect but kind of uncanny teeth, gross 6"ish long tongue. midousuji is meant to incite heebie-jeebies. also, midousuji is maybe the only character i've ever played who has hair growth/style cycles, so rn, this is the current state of his hair.
Brief:
midousuji, despite seeming like a grotesque junji ito side character, is actually just a regular teenager (regular meaning non magical, and also, he might appear older to many given his stature). he's from a sports shounen about bikes, so that's primarily what he's about, which is not relevant here, so hasn't been relevant for months; he's been coming to grips with finding purpose outside of that. part of midousuji is so obsessed with Bike Win (to a predictably and completely self destructive extent) is out of an ill-devised coping mechanism in the wake of his mother's sudden passing when he was around 9 years old, because she was happy to see him excel at something blah blah. he's unpleasant, often hostile, awkward and creepy, but is lately exploring the merits of connection with other people, something he hasn't allowed himself to plug into for 7 years. he's always been extremely strange/hard to understand, and is asocial; he's rejected society and people as a whole based on how both failed him, and like any good angsty teen, he thinks that's just fine. despite how dire all of that sounds, midousuji is basically a long bag of slapstick, and is pretty goofy as a whole. all the same, extremely hard to connect with, especially as to him, there's nothing more disgusting than sentimentality/connection. and yet...
What is your character currently up to?
midousuji has been struggling with magic since he arrived in aefenglom. he spent the first couple of months convinced he was in a coma that created a world specifically orchestrated by his own mind to torture him (because the premise really is his worst kind of hell wrt torture), but since then, coming to accept he truly has little choice (not that he's quitting!!), midousuji's been pouring all his time and effort into magic. he works at a bike shop (per quests several months back), but has been moved from FOH to strictly BOH for bike maitenence/repairs. producers who drop off product pick his weird brain and he may become something like a consultant to improve the design/standard of the "safety bicycle."
Plans for the month:
- until recently, midousuji struggled with even cantrips, and while he got the theory, the execution just wasn't working for him—for months. but he tends to have latency in learning new things, and half way through may, midousuji found himself suddenly "clicking" with magic. in june, he'll be experimenting with blood magic, excited by his results and wanting to enhance his sudden—and good—results. midousuji will be honing his magical skills, and he'll hone into his specialty of illuson magic.
- besides that, he's awkwardly going to be coming to terms with he may have made a Friend (not that he'd call it as such so plainly), and may be potentially confused about the separation of romantic and emotional attraction through that. ur gonna be vulnerable whether u like it or not, u lil shit

any and all! i know that's unhelpful. midousuji is a shithead who's hard to warm up to and other characters might have little incentive to warm up to him. but it all works out, cuz i love negative and positive CR. do you want your chara to bully midousuji? go for it. do you want midousuji to bully your character? excellent, he misses that kind of control over another person. i'm also not against midousuji getting floored by Yet Another Not Horrible Connection With Another Person. most of all, midousuji is adept at business relationships; if there's a mutual benefit to open up an avenue of CR, that may be easiest! and also, he may need another monster bond this month...

Appearance: here! she's basically living in comfortable dresses and her worn down boots here, her hair's gotten longer, but overall the same sort of style. she's a short one, about 163cm or 5'4", and rather petite.
Brief: a gremlin with a heart of gold...would be a good way to describe her. aerith is the only living descendent of the cetra, an ancient race with powerful magical abilities, and has been pursued by the shinra electric power company throughout her life in the hopes that she could lead them to the promised land of lots-of-mako. luckily, none of that makes much of a difference here! she's upbeat, kind, enthusiastic, and always willing to help out others, even without any personal motive or gain. she can be a bit strange, loves to tease and flirt, but really, that's all just part of her seeming charm.
What is your character currently up to? aerith has just dealt with the loss of a close castmate, and her roommate, so she's currently in her little cottage alone. while there are offers for her to move, she doesn't necessarily want to leave because of the garden that she's started up at the cottage, and has been tending to frequently. she diligently attends magic classes, and has already mastered (in her eyes) healing and protective spells, and with her friend gone, may start to look more into the offensive magic as well. she likes to work part-time at the flower shop in town when she can, eating delicious bread at her favorite bakery, and trying new tea - basically just taking advantage of the nice things she can find here, and being able to explore a city without worrying about someone watching her.
Plans for the month: nothing concrete; i do intend to take a look at the quests and get a top level up there, and am happy to plot something out if anyone wants to do something specifically! alternately, if there are any other ideas or things you'd like aerith to get involved in, i'm happy to throw her into anything.
Types of CR wanted: any and all cr is great! she's always open to friends, and she does well with all kinds of personalities - she does have a soft spot for the grumpy/antisocial type. positive or negative cr is fine with me!
Any types of CR or situations you'd rather avoid? aerith is a big flirt and very comfortable with her (fluid) sexuality, but is currently in a relationship with zack and will keep her sexual exploits to just him!

Monster or Witch? Witch!! and boy isn't he surprised about that
Appearance: Like so, now that he's back to his usual elven self--though his hair's grown out and he keeps it in a braid. He's short (5'4") but muscular and broad-shouldered for a Thedosian elf, and you would not believe how happy he is to have his regular ears back.
Brief: Formerly a long-term and contented Faun, now a Witch, Myr's basic personality (friendly, kind, helpful, incredibly curious) hasn't changed much... But it has gained a harder edge as he's lost his Faun's easy-going nature. Having his magic returned to him has sharpened his sense of purpose on Talam, and made him aware he'd been drifting through life a little more haplessly than he'd ordinarily have wanted to while he was a Monster. It's a confusing time for him, only made worse by having lost pretty much everyone who came through the mirrors the same time he did. Nevertheless, it won't keep him from helping anyone he can. (Or getting into the occasional contrarian argument because that's just How He Be.)
What is your character currently up to? LEARNING MAGIC. Pretty much that. He has a lot of other irons in the fire that he's set completely aside for the time being since he takes the study of magic incredibly seriously and thinks it's a matter of public safety that he be trained and Bonded to a Monster. Thankfully, the Maker (or some other divinity) not only gave him his magic back but dropped a Monster, in the form of his beloved cousin, practically in his lap. So, that's great! But is his life crazier than it's ever been now.
Plans for the month: Get a Monster Bond or two (one already lined up but one slot free), squire Beloved Cousin Vandelin around, practice his brains out with magic now that he can, SWALLOW SADNESS at having lost another of his long-term Bonds and touchstones. Probably do a quest or two--that does not require magic--as a study break, but otherwise he is gonna be incredibly focused on getting himself up to minimal magical confidence and therefore will be in the Coven most of the time. Come for the insane work ethic, stay for the startling magical backfires as he accidentally traps himself in a forcefield or slices up everything in a six-foot radius with magical blades.
Types of CR wanted: Any!! He naturally lists toward building positive CR with people because, well, he just wants to be a friend to everyone and his instant response if someone's in distress is to help or comfort them. But it's not impossible to get on his bad side, especially now that he's going to be a little (or a lot) impatient with himself as he tries to pick up magic again. He doesn't like being unsettled this way!!
