Happy Friday, Aefenglom! It's time for our monthly updates.

A bit of housekeeping on the OOC side first!

• We will be moving the event post for Tangled Terrors Part Two to Sunday the 18th rather than the 17th as noted on the Calendar. The plotting post for Part Two is up though for anyone who wants to get a head start on planning!
  
  
• From now on, quests will have their own mingle log at the beginning of the month, posted on the 1st. We will no longer do quest sign-ups and will just link this log from a header on the Quests page. We hope this format makes quests and what characters are doing with them more visible and helps everyone find others to thread with!
  
  
• We've changed the format of the Calendar a bit as well! We hope this format is more informative and straightforward. We'll be linking important posts on it, as well as including quick weather info, any relevant notes about the full and new moons, and any general setting status updates, no muss no fuss. We'll also be providing a little sneak peek at that month's event, and sometimes at the next month's event!

Some player project updates!

• Lahabrea (played by Rune) has been hard at work figuring out how to upgrade the Watches! Up until now, all Watches have been able to send and receive photos and videos, but they were always in an old-timey sepia tone. No more! Since it was announced ICly over the network, your character now has the option of getting in touch with Lahabrea to get the update on their Watch.
  
  
• Also, a reminder that Lark (who plays Myr) keeps a couple of spreadsheets with helpful character info for fun! Feel free to check them out and let Lark know if there are any changes in your character's situation.
  
  • This Aefenglom Census keeps track of how many Witches and Monsters there are in game, as well as how many of which type of Monster.
    
  • A handy-dandy Bond Chart! Who's Bonded to whom, who has Feelings, who's about to explode -- the works!
    
  • And related to the above, a place where you can submit your character's Bond Updates or change requests.
    

And lastly, but not least-ly, we're happy to announce that May will mark Aefenglom's second anniversary! To celebrate the occasion, we've got some exciting things in store for you all, and hope you're just as excited as we are.

This May, we're bringing back the fourth wall event! Like last year, we'll be opening the comms to non-member commenting for the month, from May 3rd to June 1st, and letting players and prospective players bring their dream characters for an extended test drive. For this Fourth Wall, characters who would not normally be appable will be allowed, except for CRAU, and with the caveat of "be considerate to each other" with regards to doubles, etc. Otherwise, have fun!

We'll be posting a special Fourth Wall EMP on April 26th with more details to make plans and enable your dream castmates, so keep an eye out!

Finally, we've got one more surprise for May: three new playable Monster types, and a small new ability for Witches. We'll be posting their full information on May 1st, but the new Monsters introduced (or re-introduced) to Geardagas will be:

• Dryads, nature-attuned plant people long thought to be extinct. This type will require a stronger justification for why it fits your character, same as Dragon and Fae.
• Aeternae, especially durable horned beings with strong ties to the earth and the hedonistic delights of the world.
• Sagani, elemental creatures that toe the line between spirits and Monsters. Subclassed as Sylph, Salamander, Undine, or Gnome depending on their elemental affinity.

Current players who might be interested in a switch, never fear! We'll be tossing up a screened post when the info goes up allowing you to request a switch. If you want to swap into Dryad, we will need you to write us a solid justification, same as for any application! This is just like our rules for Dragon and Fae, since Dryads will continue to be quite rare on Geardagas.

And finally, a reminder that Activity Check starts April 24th. As always, if you have extenuating circumstances (this month or any month), please reach out to us before activity check ends to discuss options. We understand that the world is a hectic place lately more than ever, so please just let us know. If you need to reach out by proxy, that’s also okay.
