Basement Bonanza OOC Plotting!
Hello Aefers! Susan here, and I'm coming to you live with a Player Plot That will be going up This Friday, August 14th! This post will serve as both a run-down on it, an invitation for suggestions/questions, and as a plotting post for anyone who wants to get involved!
So, here's the tidbits!
HEY-EY-EY. I SAID HEY. WHAT'S GOING ON?
For a full year (and likely even before then), the basement of Animal House (Shinjiro, Louis, Fie, Minato, and their myriad of animals) has been sealed up and locked and they haven't bothered to deal with it. The rest of the house has been Weird enough. (This may or may not be one of the reasons Louis publically burned half the furniture back in January.) They've cleared all the hemlock and other varied poisonous plants from the garden and made things liveable.... but that basement, tho.
And so, finally cracking it open, they will be soliciting help from fellow mirrorbound to please come help clean out this basement.
....which wouldn't be a player plot if said basement wasn't cram-packed full of weird, enchanted things.
WHERE DO I STEP IN?
Mirrorbound will be asked in a network post to offer their aid to come out to help clear out the basement and be fed (there will be tons of free food, it's the only way Shinjiro knows how to bribe people). It will be a "show up when you feel like, do as much as you want, and please for the love of god keep whatever you want." FREE STUFF! WHO COULD HATE IT!
However, basically everything in the basement is cursed or enchanted in some way, ranging from the relatively benign to the "you better get a witch to work on that hex asap."
WOW GREAT I'M GONNA DO SOMETHING GAMEBREAKING
ABSOLUTELY NO, FRIENDO! The limits for these magic items are:
-No Mind Control Bullshit
-No Dreamwalking Bullshit
-No Memory Alteration Bullshit
I've also been told that there won't be any hot deets on any main NPCS, so finding a pinup calender of Nessie is a no-go, but there can totally be scandalous details on minor or unnamed NPCs.
SO WHAT CAN I DO?
Really, this will mostly be sandbox style! However, for anyone stymied by indecision, or even just wanting to get something completely random, I will have the top thread in the log set aside for anyone who wants to be randomly assigned a find. This can go many ways! An example that came up while I was running the idea by people:
Yuff: i want elliot to find something musical instrument related. make it funny.
Me: A handcrafted Hurdygurdy, beautiful stained wood, but no matter how the user tries, the only tune that comes out is David Hasselhoff's Hooked on a Feeling (or the Aef equivilent thereof). Also it's a little sticky.
I'll also have a collection of possible finds/interactables noted in the exposition of the log, as well as the ability for people to just make up whatever they want. Do you want something to transmute you painfully and dramatically? That's cool, enjoy your body horror. Like any other transmutation in game it will gradually wear off, OR can be reversed by a skilled witch. Do you want something to make your character horny? Great. You can grow some (temporary) antlers. (Or go get fresh with someone in the corner, just please mark/warn any explicit content and don't make too much of a mess. people live here after all.)
Generally whatever is possible for a witch to learn or cast with magic is possible for an effect. Go crazy go nuts.
Just please don't kill anyone because then I gotta do paperwork for the mods. or like work it out with the mods yourself just DONT MAKE ME DO YOUR PAPERWORK FOR YOU!!!!

Character Name: Momo
I'm looking for: SO as usual I am very much here for forcing Momo to talk about shit he doesn't usually talk about in delightful ways because he's 2 cagey, so on the considerations table at the moment for me that everyone else can feel free to run wild with are:
-Something that creates an image of someone's perception of themselves/an aspect of themselves (I'm thinking maybe a lamp so it's initially cast as a "shadow" but then takes a more defined form), so for example if they think they're great and heroic then they'll look like a hero, but if they have more conflicted/monstrous ideas of themselves then those will come through instead. For Momo himself I'll be running with the "canon and then fandom ran to the ends of the earth with it" inner monster premise, specifically as a spoopy person-sized wolf
which may or may not be person sized because it's actually just furry feral momo in disguise, yes that's canon you're welcome-Cursed projector that projects your deepest embarrassing fantasies because sometimes you just have to embarrass the hell out of your character, both sfw and horny on main fantasies available
-I'm half tempted to do "radio that tunes into random conversations from your memories but there's no way to actually tell what it's going to land on or for how long" because I like memshare but we did memshare...so recently...discount nocontext snippets of memshare is also valid right
So that's my ideas but I'm also down for Momo ending up on the fringe of any darker hex/body horror stuff others might be dealing with! He's probably not quite experienced enough with counterspells to undo a complex curse/hex since his Abjuration main focuses have been shields and healing but he should at least know where to point people to for help in the Coven. Honestly I'm good with getting him involved with any sort of tone here because mood whiplash is not uncommon in his canon (shoutout to the time he and Yuki almost got murdered and then had to organise a party later that very same chapter, or the time he and Yuki interrogated a criminal over their kidnapped juniors while also designing him some cuter business cards...) and while my ideas have a lot of shenanigan potential I do very much want to dig into some of the bad stuff he hides which is likely to be more weighty (along self-hate, violence, impostor syndrome, previous psychosomatic issues, etc. lines), so feel free to let me know whether you'd prefer more lighthearted or heavier stuff in advance! I am here for them good CR developing opportunities.

Character Name: Wataru Kurenai
I'm looking for: Funny shenanigans! Wataru is pretty passive in nature despite him making big progress as far as his social life goes. So he'll either decide himself to help out or a friend ropes him in knowing he'll do whatever possible to help others. It'd be nice to find new friends and companions of misfortune to form CR with!
As for the objects, I would love to get him anything musical or something related to animals - either bats or dogs. Nothing too horrifying though, he needs to be in more situations where he's completely at loss and strays away from his usually serious predisposition.

- lighthearted shenanigans! geralt's had a rough month so amusing & non traumatizing enchantments would be great
- planning on having geralt suffer something annoying (like flowers growing in his hair or his fingers are just perpetually sticky for awhile); if anyone is prone to making fun of him, have at it

- exception to lighthearted things is if your character was attacked by him and you want to follow up while he's mildly cursed, that's totally fine!

I haven't thought through the options for this event enough yet to give any solid suggestions, but I can say it'd be a lighthearted rescue, because I know the city is at risk of being burned to the ground if Leslie gets actually injured.)

I'm looking for: I'm mostly looking for some lighthearted threads this time around! Fun, silly things for building or establishing friendly CR, though maybe some hard feelings and rivalries can emerge as well. Some artifacts that I've got in mind are...
- Mirror that insults your appearance and gives you bad fashion advice
- Gramophone/radio that plays any song you ask for with perfect clarity, but every seventh note is jarringly out of tune
- A speaking, heart-patterned teddy bear that tries to convince you to hook up with the nearest person
- A magic 8-ball that exclusively predicts minor misfortune for other people in the room, and implies that the person asking the questions will be at fault
Akechi is also unlikely to keep any of these, so if your character would want them then feel free to claim one!

I'm looking for: Let's do a bit of a calm before the storm here, since the end of Maria's month is going to be a shitshow. The memshare was kind of the catalyst for all of this horrible spiraling Maria's been doing lately, so stuff echoing that might not be for the best, but I am down for other mildly cursed objects! But I'm talking objects that make it sound like Living La Vida Loca is playing on repeat in the background as long as you hold it, and a doll that was supposed to emulate a standup comedian but just tells the same three yo mama jokes, and stuff that transmutes weapons temporarily into foam nerf-like weapons. That sort of thing.
Mild body horror is okay, but anything more than that is just... Beasthood, and she really doesn't need the callback at the moment, pls and thank.
(Though now that I'm looking at the icon I got for randomization, and I think it'd be funny if something just made it look like she was T-posing and floating around, like the video game character she is with none of her animations loaded in. I'm looking for: For Minato he’s just here for the food. So, he’ll likely just be eating and watching. He has no desire to touch things he doesn’t know how to dispel or dehex just yet because he’s still kinda useless right now. That being said, I’m all for him being dragged into dumb shenanigans anyway. No body horror though, mostly looking for humor rather than anything super serious right now!
For Yosuke, he’s not sure what he’s getting into but unlike Minato, he’s equipped to at least dispel and stuff (still a beginner but at least he has an idea on what to do lol). He’s mostly there to see if there’s anything he could use for his own witchcraft learning and/or maybe something to help his partner out who BY THE WAY is going to be with him although they’ll split off upon arrival to peruse and browse. Just make sure his chimera boyfriend doesn’t eat too many random things???? In any case, same thing applies in that no body horror and such. Shenanigans are the name of the game this month!

I'm looking for: UMMM I love this idea and I want Howl in on it at all costs. As far as tone goes, I'm down for PRETTY MUCH anything, including things that would humiliate him lol. Howl really loves knick-knacks and toys, and he's looking for magical items that could be of use to him in the future when he establishes his own business in Aefenglom, but beyond that, I have no particular ideas for magic items at the moment. I'm looking for: Irhya would be looking for things she can fix up or tools of any kind, primarily, but she's the "I want all of it, if only I had room for it" type, so she'll be very easy to please. Things that have practical uses are most appreciated, though she will definitely be on the lookout for cursed horny objects that she deems interesting. You know, just in case.
As for tone, silly and embarrassing is tops. She'll probably be doing a lot of trolling, but she's not impervious to it if you know how to hit her right. Flirting is not out of the question, either, depending on circumstances -- and I assure you whatever she's got will put a wrench right into that one way or another.
She, uh... may be prone to putting things in her mouth, though. It seems to be the Warrior of Light way... unfortunately.

I'm looking for: Something funny, preferably writing or musical related. Lorenz is a rather tall, very purple noble (and Grape Faun) who, for as ostentatious and over the top he is in every respect to his person, is actually very self-aware and even shy regarding his artistic skills. He has some skill with instruments and is a talented poet, but he treats these as if they're deep, dark secrets to be locked away.
It might be funny to play off of them.
Or, just hit me with something thematic. I'm also always down for the Rule of Funny being extensively employed.

I'm looking for: I'm looking for funny things and items. I am here to shitpost...Mikasa's had a bit of a heavy last two months with the whole learning more about the canon situation. So she's looking for a nice, chill job to do.
