If I was motivated to do the right thing for the right reasons. Sure, I talk big about wanting to protect Beacon Hills, but here’s the reality. I mostly do what I do just to feel like I’m not a complete waste of space as a human being, or to make sure my own loved ones are safe. Someone like Scott? He protects people – all of them, not just the easy ones or the ones he likes – because it’s right. And he does it without getting his hands dirty.

[ Unlike Stiles, who gets them dirty for Scott again and again. ]

Scott doesn't need to validate himself as a human being because he's something more than that now. Does that make him morally superior? If you avoid struggle and are able to maintain a better outlook, does it make you better than someone who's faced hardship and can do less?

Is it better to never need to dirty your hands?

No, he’s not morally superior because of what he is. He’s morally superior because he doesn’t abuse those abilities in spite of being something more. [ Like Stiles would. ] I don’t know how to answer your second question.

No, it’s not better to never need to dirty your hands. Someone always has to. We don't live in a world free of that kind of bullshit. If you’re not doing it yourself, it means you’re relegating the responsibility.

Even knowing that he can avoid making a number of hard decisions because you're there to make them? I don't know if it's you being too hard on yourself or not hard enough on him.

He wouldn’t relegate, but I don’t give him an option either way. Scott has enough on his plate. I’ll do what I can to make it easier for him.
