I would feel a bit underqualified. If my mentor were here, it may be better. He was always a better teacher than I could be.

You use spears, correct? And are a Monster... I'm not sure I really could show you much. I know very little about spearcraft and cannot help with your Monster changes.

That's correct, and I did not mean to place the burden of a mentor on you. [Though, that'd be pretty neat...]

Back home, fighting monsters was not entirely commonplace - here, it is. I want to continue to hunt Shades, but I'd like to learn more about them. About how to best fight them safely.

I could help with that, yes. At least to a martial combat end. I have since begun to weave magic into my abilities on a deeper level that you can't emulate, I don't believe, but simple tactics for defeating them should be within my purview.
