April Midmonth

Midmonth Mod Post: April

Hello, Aefenglom! Here's your monthly midmonth mod post.

First, as always, some reminders. They're pretty brief this month:
Dream A Little Dream, April's memory share event, is up right now and still going strong! As well, the Intro Log is still live.
    • Our activity check also begins on April 24th! This month will be check in only again - if you suspect you will not be able to check in the week of, please make arrangements ahead of time to PM the mod journal or have a friend check in for you. We will be sweeping anyone who does not reply or make prior arrangements.
    • May's AC will be back to the normal rules so please keep that in mind. Everyone will have a fresh start regarding strikes and hiatuses.
    • The calendar has all these dates as always, so check it out!
Now then - onwards!

The Aefenglom Journal

Mareuer saw its share of trouble, but things have settled down in Aefenglom and Dorchacht both since then. We have it on good authority that the troublemakers in Dorchacht and the band of exiles up north near the Wilders' new outpost have all been handled swiftly and decisively.

In other news, with Aereuer blooming into spring, a new group of Mirrorbound have entered the city, a bit smaller than the last but we hope the city will make them feel welcomed and at home for the duration of their stay. It has been nearly a year since the arrival of the first group of Mirrorbound into Aefenglom and with still few solid answers about why they continue to arrive here every so often. None can say their presence has been insignificant, though!

We keep hearing rumors that cannot be confirmed about the Mirrorbound and their dreamwalking. Could it be that this dream of the Looking-Glass House has a different significance? Perhaps by showing glimpses of their own worlds it means to give them strength to keep fighting against the Cwyld here, or perhaps it's to bring them closer together? Will we see new Bonds forming after this, we wonder?

OOC Updates

    • We'd like to thank everyone for their patience with our admittedly slow mod team during these strange-RL times. For the sake of transparency, we have to admit that we may need more time to get our feet under us - RL circumstances have affected all of us mods greatly, and currently the game is being run by one main mod (who has also recently been hit hard by the pandemic) and both our wonderful list mods, who have gone above and beyond to help with duties they did not initially sign on for. A big thanks to both Shuu and Kim for everything they continue to do to help things along.
Due to this current state of the mod team, we are in talks to determine whether or not we think the team can even handle a May application round. We were unexpectedly down hands for March's round (thanks, pandemic) after its parameters were already laid out, and that situation has not resolved. We will be discussing whether or not to perhaps push the application round to June and how we want to restructure things. An announcement will be made when we come to a decision, likely in early May. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.

Feedback

We're here again to offer everyone the chance to give some feedback, if there's anything that you've noticed or would like to possibly seem implemented!

Talking Points:
    • Info posts that you'd like clarification for.
    • Quests. In general, what kind of quests would you like to see more of? How can we improve with these? What's working, and what isn't?
    • Plot investigation feedback. We've gotten quite a few good investigations, and honestly it's been fantastic seeing what everyone does with their information.
    • Events. What type of ones would you like to see, what ones are working, what aren't?
    • General feelings on: the game, the timing of posts, how events and such are set up, etc.
    • And more! Tell us what's on your mind.
We honestly appreciate all kinds of comments, and we want to make Aefenglom a wonderful, fun, and comfortable game for everyone who joins. This post will remain unscreened, so if you'd like to take something to a more private venue, you can either PM us or comment here.

Hello, mods! I'm a brand new player and haven't been around very long, but I just wanted to say what a joy this game is so far. The effort you guys put into events and building setting/lore is incredible. Thank you for all of your hard work, I can't imagine it's easy to run a game with everything else going on at the moment. I know we all appreciate what your team does!

Thank you so much for all you do. Times are tough and Aefenglom is a source of distraction and comfort, and it's incredible that you continue to prioritize it in any capacity. You're awesome, please stay well!

This is really late sorry.

Anyway. Thanks for everything, I've had a lot of fun in game and generally chatting with people. And hope you're all doing relatively okay at the moment, cause let's face it no one is totally okay and unaffected.

For feedback, I don't really have a lot. I've never modded before so my one thing might be unfeasible. But I mentioned it on discord before the last app round and figured it was a good idea to actually mention it properly.
