CR & PLOTTING: APRIL

CR & PLOTTING: APRIL

Last month saw discoveries and troubles alike scattered across the known parts of Geardagas. In Aefenglom, gardening classes were all the rage, and Eostre was just as chaotic as ever with public drinking and celebrations of spring abound. Little Ladies' Day, a Mirrorbound-organized event, brought an appreciation of all the ladies in our lives to Aefenglom and charmed the locals.

In Dorchacht, celebrations turned dark as a group of Witches and a few Monsters both wishing to go back to the way things were caused a ruckus that put the city on edge. Even though the perpetrators were dealt with in a quick fashion, the reality that Dorchacht is no utopia was brought to the forefront. And around the new Northern Outpost, building continued, research was done into a small cave found set into a cliff-face and covered in ancient drawings and writings, and a group of unruly exiled necromancers were driven away from the Settlement Ruins. Those poor souls who had wandered the earth only to find themselves the playthings of necromancers have finally been laid to rest, leaving the ruins peaceful and quiet for the first time in years.

With Aereuer, spring fully sets itself on Aefenglom, and with it comes an uncommon event: a meteor shower, auspicious tidings for the newest group of Mirrorbound to enter the city through the Looking-Glass House. Meteor showers in Aefenglom are known to help bring people together, so perhaps it is a herald for what comes later this month...

DREAM A LITTLE DREAM

On the night of the 13th, by 3am, all Mirrorbound will be called by the sweet siren song of sleep. Like many times before, they will find themselves within a shared dream. Unlike the other dreams, though, this time they are somewhere familiar - the Looking-Glass House, their first view upon arrival, filled by the mirrors hanging on the walls. At first, all seems as it would be in the waking world, but on closer inspection, dreamers will note things have changed.

Mirrorbound will begin to see decorations on mirrors other than their own. While in the waking world only their personal mirror is decorated by trinkets and familiar signs of home, in the shared dream they will see bits of other Mirrorbound's personal marks on their mirrors. They won't see the full design, just a few carvings or adornments, but the better two characters know each other, the more of these decorations they'll be able to recognize. Two Mirrorbound who are complete strangers will continue to see completely plain, undecorated mirrors for each other. However every mirror belonging to a Mirrorbound currently in Aefenglom will be glowing with soft, silvery light over the glass. Unoccupied mirrors will be dull and sometimes cracked. Not in use, those mirrors are simply common mirrors hanging on the walls.

Touch the glowing glass of a Mirrorbound's mirror and it will ripple, bending like the malleable surface of a lake. If characters are bold and step through another character's mirror, it will place them in the middle of a memory belonging to the mirror's owner, as if they stepped into a small piece of that world. As the memory plays out, Mirrorbound will be able to watch the event, but they won't be able to alter it or interact with the dream characters within the memory. Like ghosts, the figures from a character's memory will reenact the past completely oblivious to the intruders watching them, and once the memory ends, the characters will fade and vanish. Mirrorbound may remain in the memory's setting and interact with some of the environment (and the current-day version of the memory's owner, present in the memory as well), as it will appear as the owner remembers it, but no changes to the past or the memory will occur from this shared glimpse. One character visiting another's memory might decide to snoop around their room or see what exactly was hidden in the closet that one time, but they won't be able to stop the memory version of the character from making that bad wrong turn or saying that thing they shouldn't have in public. The setting offers a bit of interaction, but the memories are static and can only be observed as they occurred.

Leaving back through the mirror will return characters to the Looking-Glass House again, with all effects of their stay lost as soon as they exit. Setting changes will be undone and the process starts over. Characters can either enter a new mirror or re-enter the same one and experience a different memory from the same character. Players are free to decide which memories they wish to share, how many they want others to see, what parts of the setting characters can interact with, and how they want the memories to appear. It is their perspective, after all. Just keep in mind that the memories themselves cannot be altered and that characters cannot directly interact with the people from them. Remember, Mirrorbound are only observers. You can't change the past.

stiles would probably notice at least SOME of those traps and try to avoid activating them/try to reset them if he can, but definitely not all of them. figuring out when sasuke won't be there and the front door lock will be easy peasy...............HE'S GOT EXPERIENCE WITH THAT, FORTUNATELY.

okay next: what kind of clothes would stiles find if he went through his stuff. he'll be looking for tops, probably. or general outerwear.

THAT SOUNDS PERFECT

Sasuke definitely favors long-sleeved shirts in dark colors, so expect a small selection of those (think 2-3), maybe two vests, and his cloak won't be in there because he'll be wearing it. There will be a glove (just one, go figure), and a hat he bought as a precaution but has refused to wear so far in game.
