CR & PLOTTING: FEBRUARY

Last month, Ieneuer began with happy news from Dorchacht, and the opening up again of the city to visitors from Aefenglom. The teleporter remains open and available for use, and the Resistance's efforts to clean up Morgana Drummond's mess continue even now. With Mirrorbound help and guidance, they've even started training their own Wilders and implementing new safety systems to ensure that a situation like Ieneuer's doesn't happen again. Luckily, casualties from their missing Wilder group were minimal, and all, even the dead, were found and returned home. Inside the city, cleanup and rebuilding efforts were helped along, investments were made, new information about their area of the Wilde was recorded for the Coven's new library, tastes in music and entertainment are slowly evolving, and overall, the city had a positive month. Many still don't know how to live in freedom, but inch by inch, progress is made and knowledge is gained.

In contrast, Aefenglom was rocked to its core by the sadistic machinations of the Rathmores, an old noble family fallen on hard times, who were displeased with the changes they've seen brought about by Aefenglom's visitors. Mirrorbound and refugees alike were kidnapped from their homes and off the streets, only to suffer unspeakably at the hands of the Rathmore brood. After nearly a week, and a daring escape, the family and their associates were arrested and imprisoned before their trial on the 3rd.

With all luck, justice will prevail as Faiolleach concludes, and the Mirrorbound can find some semblance of peace in a city horrified by the actions of a few extremists. As things settle, and Parliament prepares for a few new politicians to take the Rathmores' places, the Wilders focus outward...

Outpost Problems

With the Wilde, always the opposing season, lingering in the last remnants of summer and transitioning into autumn, the Wilders are planning an expedition to the north, to check on outposts along the way, and set up a new outpost, the farthest one from the safety of Aefenglom to date. It's quite an exciting prospect, and those who work with the Wilders regularly are bound to hear them talking about it. Since they have so many Mirrorbound who help out with their work, an open invitation is put out to their wayward visitors to join them - the more hands, the merrier! It will be dangerous, of course, as they'll be moving through areas that may have taken on a heavier level of infection since they were last checked, and any with less experience (along with all Dragons and Fae, who are more susceptible to the Cwyld) will be warned as such beforehand. Still, even those who aren't as capable in the Wilde can find things to do, as long as they stick with the group, so no one will be turned away.

The group is expected to move through infected areas, clearing along the way as needed to open the path, pass the ruins of former settlements lost to the Cwyld, and eventually reach the site for the new outpost, where things aren't as straightforward or abandoned as they might appear...

February's event is Outpost Problems, a multi-day Wilder expedition to set up a new outpost to the North! Recruits will be expected to carry their own camping gear, for while they may return to Aefenglom with a guide at any point, volunteers are generally expected to remain with the group over the days they'll be traveling in order to help out. Some of the roles that need filling include: fighters to take on any Shades that may attack; laborers to carry things, steer the carts, and do construction work at the outpost site; medics in case things get hairy; those with experience with flora and fauna to determine safe-or-dangerous on the wildlife they may encounter; and Witches to brush up on their barrier magic to help protect the caravan. Anyone with a different job in mind is welcome as well - the Wilders are more than happy to put everyone's unique talents to use on this rather large undertaking.

They'll be glad for the extra hands when things start to get weird.

Event Plans: She'd like to participate in the outpost shenanigans, if only to keep herself occupied (and after her broken leg heals). She may not make a full recovery in time, in which case she will be going stir-crazy.

General Plans: Recover from her ordeal during the whole kidnapping thing and quietly plot revenge - somehow. Even if those responsible are already being punished, Iramaat tends to take slights very personally. Although execution is definitely something she wants to witness. She's also still a bit shaken up after her bonded was sent home and she was tortured, so she's grappling with mortality and being lonely, so she'll probably be looking for someone to latch onto.

Event Plans: While Maria isn't exactly happy with Aefenglom as a whole - she's not so easily placated, though the executions Please her and she will 100% be There for them - she will be down to get rid of her excessive violence and cool down with some Murder in the Wildes.

She will primarily be fighting shades and beasties, but anyone who knows horticulture and wants to help her collect plants for her garden are welcome to!

She doesn't do the Valentine's Day Equivalent thing, being from where and when she is, but... I suppose a bit of spiked alcohol isn't totally out of the equation. Hit me up, see what works.
General Plans: Maria is happily (as happily as she gets at least) Bonded, so she isn't really looking for more of those (accidents do happen though), she will continue to work with her garden, and she will be in a Significantly Better Mood once the Rathmores are executed.

Yes, death makes her just happy, thanks. Now she doesn't have to behead them herself.

But I am down for anything with her! Positive CR is easier to come by with her than before, though getting close/intimate/soul searching details out of her is... a tricky prospect at best. Negative CR is fairly easy to get as well - she doesn't really go well with more obnoxious personality types, but she's more likely to ignore someone she doesn't like. And, she still does have a standing offer to Hunt any Monsters who lose control of themselves and hurt others. This will probably never go away.

Also, as a side note, I am on vacation until the 6/7th so my presence will be spotty at best for the next couple days.

Sephiroth will be observing the executions and looking rather unfazed about it all. But maybe more relevant is the fact that he’ll be heading towards the outpost, too, as one of the fighters — if that’s the more interesting option of the two.

Event Plans: Daenerys has had a really crappy month in January! She's still healing from torture and being kidnapped, but has successfully moved out of the city to the farmlands outside of the wall with Jorah. She is working with farmers to help sell food to the slums of Aefenglom and learning to defend herself with weaponry in the mean time.

If any travelers for the Wilde quest want to stop at the farmlands, she will gladly give supplies.

General Plans: Her business in Aefenglom is professional only, using the funds she was given to purchase better equipment for the owners of the farmlands she is residing in, a horse for transportation, and some protection spells for herself.

Daenerys will also spend her time trying to look into the different history and languages of the world, so she may be better prepared if she is to travel further and further away from Aefenglom.

She'll be eventually heading into more dragon-like traits with her personality. Jealous/protective of CR, more likely to flirt during a mating cycle (it's actually way sadder than it is sexy), coveting silver...

If anyone wants follow-up from the execution, she will be pleased there was justice, but still not exactly satisfied. ICly, she will begin attempting to find a place in Parliament to offer change — since she still does not agree with Aefenglom, sad sad.

He's still a little hit and miss on what's fashionable here, but tends towards casual and comfortable Victorian attire.

Brief: THE GREAT PAPYRUS, chronic capslocker and loud oddball - check out his application here if you want the longer summary. He's had an easier time with the dog-like stuff than the monster instincts, since he was already a monster and some of his neighbors and coworkers back home were dogs. Papyrus stubborn about positive thinking to the point of coming off as childish, especially because of his own tendencies towards insecurity and passive aggression... And, as he's recently recovering from kidnapping and all the awful stuff with it, his loud boastfulness will make plenty of (intermittent) appearances, if only to reassure himself that he's okay.

Event Plans:
- Attending the trial: Possibly to testify a little, mostly for a sense of closure. He's not used to seeing such decisive closure, but he doesn't have the heart to speak out against it - if anybody deserves such things, it's the Rathmores.
- Speed-dating: He's participating in the paid quest, as well as attending a couple other groups. His interests are less romantic than friendship- and bond-seeking, but he's sincere enough about going through the motions.
- Bookshop: Working at a bookshop refurbishing, rebinding, and sometimes rewriting books. After everything, it's nice to sit, work hard, and put things back in order.

General Plans:
- Experimenting with magic, he's getting a (temporary) tattoo from Inkchanted for telekinesis magic, and he's eagerly experimenting with it to figure out his old finesse. Expect some mix of mistakes that nearly hit people, and cackling triumph as he makes mid-air decorations.
- Looking for friends and/or bonds, as some of his friends have (he hopes) disappeared through the mirrors again, and he's finding that the trauma from last month has upset him enough that even his bond with Chandra isn't helping keep him as steady as he'd like.
- Problems with shifting, especially around the full moon... but also as an ongoing problem, since the trauma from last month is going to be more apparent when he's shifted, and he's having some problems with shifting when struggling with his feelings.

OOC note: I'm a somewhat slower tagger, partly due to some longterm things going on, but I try to get all tags back within 4 days. Working odd hours makes it difficult, but if you catch me tagging and want to boomerang for a bit, let me know!

She can come across as whimsical and flighty, but she's far more thoughtful than she appears and she cares a lot for others. Tends to be emotional distant at times, but she's getting better about that. A little. Kind of...

She's also not above being underhanded or lying if it will get her what she wants, and has perfected her poker face over the years. Her tendency to be flighty and like a social butterfly is mostly an act, even if her friendliness is genuine - if she doesn't smile around you, it means she's likely to be more honest. Basically a shady bitch who means well, but being shady lets her keep her throne.

Though she's currently having some issues, due to the fact that changelings only feel muted versions of emotions and she's now experiencing Real Feelings for the first time in centuries. And considering her first real emotion was fury, she's having a bad time. BUT IT'S. FINE no its not

Choice: Monster: Dragon

Event Plans: She'll be taking part in the outpost adventures! Fighter, medic or flora expert (she was basically a walking flower before) are roles she can easily fill out, and she will do her best to assist! Though considering she's a Dragon, she will have to be cautious once they step into the more infected areas... Not that it will stop her.

General Plans: She will be taking part in the Pool of Desire quest, and she will be finding the normal pool! Which will show her desire to have an actual family, except that's impossible for her for a number of reasons she's very aware of... So if anyone would like to do something with that, hmu. Since she's from a court of desires, she'll be very encouraging of people following them!

Persephone will also be accessing her second dragon form this month during the full moon, so she will look a lil like this and be around elephant size. So a big, flowery dragon who will be trying to adjust to her sudden mass increase. And learning how to fly.

She will also still be continuing her work in Dorchacht, where she's helping more of the harshly treated Monsters adjust to their new freedoms. Considering how similar their plights are to those of newly freed changelings, she wants to help them as much as she can!

Brief: I'm just gonna c/p this from the ooc intro tbh: first of all, there are a lot of spoilers re: Ash so shout me if you want to avoid any of that. It shouldn't be too much of an issue, as Ash keeps all his problems locked up like fort knox and never talks about them ever so it's ... unlikely anything will come out suddenly. In brief though he's a student at a military academy although you wouldn't think it given that he ignores rules like the plague and is drawn to action and dangerous-but-fun things like a moth to flame. He's also pretty blunt with anyone and everyone, but is a genuinely good kid under his.. everything. He looks out for the people he care about, and while he isn't the gentlest person he does have a knack for being there and offering support in his own way when needed.

Event Plans: Ash is still in the settling in part of showing up in Aef, but if certain people let go of his leash long enough to let him have some fun, he's probably gonna go and fight things if he's needed. Or even if he's not. He's avoiding acknowledging he has witch powers and will just be here to wreck things with his normal fighting style.

General Plans: Something, something nobility is bad sometimes. Ah, amazing... Ash expects nothing from nobility and still his expectations are let down. So the whole trial thing'll just get a raised eyebrow.

For the moment, he's trying to set up his own housing situation and to get himself a familiar because he has no interest in letting people in his head. (OOCly, I am 100% here for it but it'll take a lil' work unless there are extreme circumstances ... i'm happy to lay some groundwork for potential things in the future?). He's also gonna try and get himself some work for the cash, and just do that whole settling in thing and refusing to be witch.

Event Plans: Elliot is likely going on the expedition as a medic! Thanks to his work in the infirmary, he has increased resistance to Cwyld and also skills in treating cases (except the super severe, please come to him asap if you get infected. General Plans: Elliot had a rough month in January between a very rough canon bump, and then working in the infirmary to treat all the kidnap victims, so he's gonna have a lowkey month this time around. He will be continuing his work in the clinic for any characters that still requiring healing, otherwise he'll be going back to focusing on treating patients with Cwyld.

Otherwise he'll also be continuing to give music lessons for anyone interested!

Brief: World's best big brother. Hasn't existed in a good 1-2 years and is getting used to this whole "living" thing again. Might have been a tree at some point. The antichrist who killed the entire human race. Has some issues or two beneath the surface. Maybe a lot of them. Will be your friend without any trouble and take any job you give him. Amazing cook. Has an extremely big sword.
Choice: Monster — he's a vampire!
Event Plans: Nier will 100% be on that expedition in the Wildes as a fighter, although there is a big caveat to this.

So. Shades. Right. Well, Nier canonically has a very very very vehement hatred for Shades and hair trigger temper pertaining to them. In fact, he's quite literally known as Nier "Shade killer" Nierson. These Shades are somewhat different from what he's used to, but he doesn't discriminate! Their very existence will set him off and launch him into berserker mode, which is usually something people don't have the misfortune of witnessing.

The plus side is: he will be great at killing them! No trouble at all. If you're looking for a bodyguard to lead you through the expedition or someone to do the heavy lifting for you, he's your guy. He'll keep you safe and sound and probably go the extra mile to make sure you're taken care of.

The downside is that you're going to have to deal with him being a walking horror show. He's not the sort to scream or rampage or yell or smile, but he becomes deeply immersed in bloodshed and his love for violence manifests without any abandon. He's not really the nurturing big brother he fronts as in these moments, just an unfeeling murderer who wants to violently take apart any Shade he sees.

Which he will. Probably. Any Witches willing to bolster his abilities or folks willing to provide him with blood supply would be loved, if they can handle being around him.

General Plans:

- Mostly just work! He's going for a high risk quest this month and will take just about anything you give him. So if you're looking for a maid, a cook, a mercenary, someone to do fetch quests for you, someone to clip your toenails, it seriously doesn't matter: if you have blood or coin he'll go for it.

- He's not a hard person to make friends with by any means. If your character is looking for companionship, he's here to take care of them without any pre existing conditions. Just a friendly guy.

- He wants to start a garden! He has a big green thumb and love for nature. He'll likely be trying to create one with Aerith Gainsborough.

- I'm game for anything, feel free to hit me. Oldbies and newbies alike are loved!

Brief: Aerith is an effervescently cheerful, outgoing, empathetic, and good-natured young flower seller from the under-plate slums of the technologically advanced city of Midgar. Her overall dainty and nonthreatening presentation belies a great deal of stubbornness, bravery, and cunning. She is the last of a race known as the Cetra, who convened with the Planet and could hear and understand it, which makes her uniquely equipped to hear the Planet's suffering, and to put an end to it.

In recent times, she serves as her world's psychopomp/god(??), welcomes the dead into the collective consciousness of her Planet's life cycle, known as Lifestream, and acts as a spiritual guide and otherworldly help to her living friends.
Choice: Witch. I haven't decided what school she'll specialize in yet, but I do know I'd like her to have some ability to heal.
Event Plans: Aerith is all for the dismantling of corrupt power structures, but public execution will make her incredibly uncomfortable to witness, as this was a favored method of Shinra's (which was the corrupt power structure in her world.) She will be eager to help in any way possible, and will be venturing to the Outpost, hopefully with some of the beefy men she knows/has met so she doesn't wander into something and do something reckless. She knows a great deal about plant life, as an aside.
General Plans: Settling, primarily! She has a lot of. Canonmate stuff on the go, as they are all from WILDLY different canonpoints and she will likely be mediating quite a bit. I would like her to develop a Bond or two... or several, get a handle on her magic, and learn more about the local flora for sure. She's eager to start a garden or help in a community garden, and to explore. Aerith's big on new experiences, as her life didn't afford her a ton, and will adjust quickly. She does need roommates/a place to stay as well.

Along the line she will become very invested in helping in infected areas. This is a personal point of concern for her, being an overseer of her own Planet back home!

Trevor knows what it's like to be bullied/persecuted/wronged and doesn't like seeing injustice done to others. He has a low tolerance for monsters given his being a Belmont but is capable of working with them if need be. Crude, not beneath kicking you in the nuts in a fight, and known to toss insults as a form of friendship at times. He actually is good at what he does though and it wouldn't be wise to underestimate him and his capabilities/knowledge. He's also a lot more soft than he wants to let on.

Event Plans: Trevor's had a rough last month so I'm not sure if he'll be going on this or not. His health is also starting to slowly turn to shit because of his turning into a vampire, so. Tbd.

General Plans: Trevor was one of the kidnapped last month so he's going to try and return to some sense of normalcy while pretending that he is totally fine and has had worse. SPOILER: HE HASN'T. Because he's a Belmont, he's skipping out on the executions due to mixed feelings but he will be aware of them.

My plans for this month are mostly for him to reconnect with his existing CR after last month as well as check up on those he "connected with" or whatever while being held captive. If we have kidnapped threads still going I'm fine with continuing them, wrapping them up, or handwaving anything that needs to be handwaved if you'd prefer! o/ It's a new month and all so no worries. Other than that, Trevor is a a vampire (tbd on his death date still) and has been dealing with the changes since October so if there are other vampires, even new baby ones, he can do his best to help you out with whatever you're dealing with. He honestly doesn't know many vampires here surprisingly. Just... pay no attention to his being a vampire killer/hunter. He figures him turning into a vampire is a way for this world to screw with him, so. Yeah. He also makes a great drinking buddy if you're of age. Or, you know, he can drink and get you apple juice or something.

Brief: Info Post; Emil is a 20-year-old adventurer from post-apocalyptic body horror disease Scandinavia (Sweden specifically). Personality-wise, he's very well-educated but pretty dumb, so he doesn't actually know much of anything, very spoiled and vain, highly insecure, and completely tactless. He's also extremely patient, considerate, loyal, and refuses to leave anyone behind. Emil likes to complain, brag, and has only had one actual friend in his whole life, but if you're cold he'll definitely give you his jacket and probably bring you something hot to drink, and other such actions. So if you can look past his terminal case of foot-in-mouth and frequent occasional thoughtlessness, he would actually be a great friend to have. Also, he loves fire and explosives, like, a lot.

Event Plans: So, Emil will be all about this Wilder Expedition thing, especially since, despite being brand spanking new, he's probably going to want to be a Wilder about as soon as he realizes they exist. Apparently, he would be allowed to come along despite being new and completely untrained with his Witch abilities (he has a cat who he can bond with in the meantime) and he's got a lot of training in this kind of expedition, since it was basically his job before he came here, albeit with a different disease (which he's actually immune to, unlike the Cwyld...he's not smart okay). He comes armed from home with a handgun, knife and sword, and a lot of explosives, and is used to long slogs through the wilderness while on the watch for attack from monsters, so maybe actually helpful as a fighter or kinda-Cleanser (clearing brush for trails etc.)

I'd really like to plan some stuff with other characters going on the mission, because he doesn't have any real CR to speak of yet, being so new.

Also, he's at the intro event log here if anyone wants to do just some general less adventury stuff.

General Plans: Emil is resilient and kinda slow so he's quick to adjust to new places. As I mentioned, he's gonna want to find a Bond and train with magic (most likely Evocation for fire magic, and some healing spells) and figure out how to get into the Wilders until he can find out how to go home. He's a big fan of adventure and heroism, so it's right up his alley. I have a plan for one possible bond, but am so open to the idea of more, because I love that mechanic a lot. I'd love people for him to train magic and/or practice bond stuff with eventually, but he's a terrible student and is probably going to blow himself up a lot - I don't know if that's a positive or a negative?

Event Plans: Riku will be on the expedition in the dual position of Witch and fighter. He's still getting used to his magic and can use some magic tutoring. Aloof, brusque, somewhat intimidating, most find him difficult to approach and connect with, but he’s doesn’t seek to be actively antagonistic. It’s just how he be.
Choice: Harpy! His transformation will be slow-going in general.
Event Plans: Sephiroth will be joining the expedition, mostly utilizing his skill as a fighter to fend off shades. Basically, he’ll make a good bodyguard for those who want to wander off and explore the plant life, or anything else!
General Plans: He’s new, so there’s still going to be a lot of settling in. I’m open to figuring out a rooming situation, though he might be a bit picky about it ICly. As far as bonds go, it’s critical that he finds someone for that, too, so I’m very open to developing future CR to see if there’s potential there. She does have a strong sense of 'protecting the weak from their oppressors' but not in the preachy ew paladin sense with their honor. Gross.

Event Plans: Not really sure about the event to be honest. Mira WILL see the executions because they deserve everything what they did to the captives tenfold. No joy in it but they deserve all the pain.
General Plans: Mira already has two Bonds (Emet-Sulkelch and Irhya) but wouldn't say no to a third if she finds the person interested and trusts them. No obligation Bonds otherwise GTFO. She does need to get out more and actually have fun because she's now helping refugees, making potions for the hospital, and honestly not doing much for herself moreso after the Snatched Event (hahah eat shit Rat family). So someone please get her to do something fun!

Speaking of running around and not caring for herself, Mira will end up getting sick at the end of the month because NO ONE CAN RUN ON STEAM FOREVER. So CR can come laugh at the dark knight getting stuck in bed.

Event Plans: Kaede is actually 100% Delighted with the trial's outcome, and will be in a far better mood the rest of the month afterwards. She'll actually be smiling during the executions.

Afterwards, she'll stop clamoring for violence and be back on good behavior. Convincing her not to kill will be easier in the future. Maybe there is something for this justice thing instead of it being used as a tool for others but never her. Aef (and the City Guard) are still on thin ice with her, but she'll actually give citizens the time of day now instead of spitefully ignoring them and their problems. She won't be doing the major quests this month, but will be around to do more local things like fetch quests, rebuilding damaged structures, haunting rooftops, and rescuing cats stuck in trees. She can be coaxed into looking into the Outpost Problems, but she'd be more wary about being separated from Ursula that long than anything else. The Wilders are still okay as far as she's concerned.
General Plans: Tattoos! Kaede's been meaning to get anti-compulsion and fire-resistance charmed ink since the revolution in Dorch, but for one reason or another kept getting blocked. This month things finally seem to have calmed down enough for her to start seriously looking into it. (I'm thinking about her getting a tattoo on her ribcage/side because her back is a disaster of animal parts and I'm Very Nice to my characters at all times.)

Otherwise, she'll be around outside the Wall practicing hunting things, or fetching things she thinks will make Ursula feel better like books. I'm open to other things, as well! Kaede's snowshoe feet won't be quite as helpful once the snow starts turning to slush, sorry if she tracks gross wet pawprints across your doorstep. The nights are still long and gloomy enough for her to practice with her shadow abilities easily, if a voidblob smacking into your character's window at night sounds fun.

Brief: chise is a sleigh beggy which is, more or less, a walking battery for magical energy and also a magnet for magical and fae folk. and because of this, her childhood was not the greatest it could be. but things changed when elias (her now teacher/fiance??) took her under his wing and introduced her to the world of magic. while things are still not all sunshine and happiness, it has more ups than downs for her and she's been able to find new meaning in her life.

I have only the slightest canon familiarity, but I expect Chise would be more easy going about the skeleton werewolf than many other newcomers. Papyrus likes making friends, though sometimes struggles at it between his volume and energy and general eccentricity, and is naturally inclined toward shenanigans. He's recovering from stuff the previous month, so he'll be all the more wanting to reach out to the new people and welcome them - I think there's a good basis for getting them interacting

After getting kidnapped last month and badly tortured, he retreated from the city after being treated at the infirmary. He will, however, be present for the executions, but will leave quickly after they finish.
