Weather
- Aefenglom and the lands just outside it remain firmly entrenched in winter's icy grip. The skies are overcast and temperatures remain steadily around or below freezing for much of the month, dotted with only the occasional warmer day when the clouds part to let the sun shine fully. Toward the beginning, the city begins to prepare for the worst possible weather, having experienced a truly historical blizzard last year, but with any luck, only semi-regular snow showers are in store, white piling on the ground in deep, but manageable drifts. The streets remain mostly clear, though one may have trouble getting around immediately after a snow shower. Watch out in the Harbor District, because many of the orphans are enjoying the weather - you may get pelted with snowballs just for walking by.
In the Wilde, ever the opposite season, summer temperatures are rising over much of the known and passable land. It's a murky, damp sort of heat, peppered by the occasional rain storm, and many creatures are fully active - and territorial. Part of this is due to a slight uptick in the spread of the Cwyld - places you may have visited and seen uninfected last week may now sport blooming dark veins in plants, strange behavior from infected animals, or increased Shade activity. This may result in some creatures, dangerous and non, fleeing newly infected areas of the Wilde toward the Outer City of Aefenglom.
After late full moons in the previous month, the Sisters will not be round and bright in the sky again until the 30th. Mirrorbound Witches should note the date of the new moons on the 14th as well, as their raw magical power increases when the Sisters stop shining their light over the city. That night will be notably clear, only the pinpricks of stars marring the black sky, and it will be very difficult to moderate one's magic during the new moon this month, even for experienced Witches.
