Steven has gotten the impression that Papyrus is avoiding sadness is a way completely familiar to him, and therefore he is trying to keep tabs on him and see if he can help.

Steven's first impression of Bendy was that he looks like a cartoon but he didn't want to assume that was the case when maybe his species just looks like that!

At this point he's pretty sure it's something like that, though. Bendy seems like he got pulled from a world pretty different from this one.

The real question here is how long if ever will it take for Aziraphale to realize that Everett is flirting with him. And will continue to flirt with him. Indefinitely. (Unless told to stop....)

Steven's impression of her was positive at first because he was high on Full Moons, but afterwards he felt a bit unsettled, given her low opinion of humans. It's a frame of mind he is familiar with, and it appealed to his fae instincts a bit too much for comfort.
