Maruah | Elidibus | Final Fantasy XIV

Player Name: Maruah
Pronouns:
Contact: I do best with Discord (Everyworker#8128) but Dreamwidth pms are okay.
Timezone: Eastern Time Zone

Character Name: Elidibus
Canon: FFXIV

Appearance: Appears as a young human male, brown hair, warrior type friendly altruistic fellow. Has a giant axe sometimes! (Spoiler: fake identity thanks to borrowing someone's body as a shell).

Brief: Elidbus is an ancient being who has spent thousands on thousands of years manipulating and guiding mortal mankind and his own brethern on a mission to save a god, world, and people shattered into multiple worlds and bits of souls (mortals). Unfortunately this means forcing the worlds to rejoin by syncing massive calamities between the base world and one of the shards. Being pulled to Aefenglom is something of an enforced last minute vacation that turns into a nightmare fueled horrorflick five minutes in.

He is pretending to be the identity of the host body he was pulled here with. The only reason he's good at this is few people know who the eff Ardbert really is in Aefenglom. Also, he really seems to be a nice guy, this Ardbert fellow. If a little bit odd.

He is extremely skilled in lies, half lies, truths and manipulation, guiding and shaping destinies. Being new to this world, he is not engaging directly, but finding and collecting useful tools and pawns needed to find a way back for himself and his two brethren.

Choice: Witch.

Event Plans: Over the course of Part 1, Elidibus spent time working on both information gathering, as outlined in my question (here). He is not likely to ask for aid in this except from Lahabrea and Emet-Selch. His focus in this venture has been the following actions:

- Tracking membership identity and locations/conversations: Trying to mark inner circle, high ranking aristocrats, those who were actually a part of it versus brainwashed to be a part of it. Basically where they live, their numbers, names and general movements (criminal or otherwise). He would be especially keen to find out if there is a mastermind or the hint of a mastermind behind Cillian Alder's actions. In his personal experience (and probably personal tactics), a lot of Alder's actions may possibly be fueled by someone looking to create a smokescreen for their own devices.

- Observing Mirrorbound and natives alike, discovering and making a list of those who seem to have become brainwashed/enchantded: For someone watching largely from the beginning, he likely met with decent success comparing Mirrorbound conversations on networks with reactions. Lots of eavesdropping. Had spoken to a few (brainwashed or not) (here) and (here).

- Attempting to gather information gathered about the Cwyld from the various notes, private diaries and estates for his personal records: This may have been impeded a lot. First, he would have been highly cautious to test magic security, being new to Aefenglom and even less willing to bring in outsiders. But he would have also looked for openings to take advantage of.

- In public movements, he has joined patrols and escorts, concentrating on offering his time to the Western Residential District. He helps Mirrorbound and Natives alike and has made a lot of favorable progress of establishing himself as a resident in that district. Occasionally helps with other patrols.

General Plans: Elidibus has just arrived as these events unfolded. He is still learning the city, the world and how mortal man conducts themselves in this era.

His movements under his true identity will be very secretive and lacking a 'social norm' level of altruism. He has specific goals and about ten thousand years of habit on how to handle them.

Movements as the identity of 'Ardbert' will be more open and how it is most likely to interact with him in the second half.

Examples would be:

Patrols, escorts and more: He's probably established some credibility by now as a reliable escort and patrol partner, even though he's new. What he lacks in magic experience he makes up for with insight and combat skills. He's been able to compensate the lack of magic skill against Cwyltid by enchanting his axe just before it strikes a target with an elemental charge. Basically remains enchanted just long enough.

Aftermath drinks: People talk more once their tongues are loosened. Being there for a few folk or keeping an eye out for the recognizable haunted look of a person that has chosen some drinks to help get through the recent horrors. Whether he learns something new of recent events, of the person in question or nothing at all, it will be considered time spent in pursuit of one of his goals.

Crossover with other group movements: While he might not be going to the party so to speak, he might end up encountering other people as they move around. If you're looking for a person to fill out assistance with In-City events, I'm open to suggestions and CR!
