Weather
- Winter still reigns in Aefenglom. The air is bitingly cold, with some days bringing icy wind and snow, and others leaving the city swathed in thick, pervasive mists that linger like an unpleasant blanket even after the wan sun has risen high above. The nights are still long, but little by little, the days are starting to catch up again.
The summer in the Wilde remains hot, getting hotter and more humid the further into its depths one traverses. This isn’t advised, of course-- especially not recently, as the heavy rains and aggressive reclamation of cleared-out spaces by the Cwyld have made the Wilde even more unpredictable. Unexpected rainshowers continue, storms coming out of nowhere with a roaring intensity prone to causing mudslides and localized flooding, wreaking havoc on Wilder outposts. The unpleasant weather isn’t a nuisance only for people, either; animals both infected and not can be found fleeing unstable ground or flooded caves and holes, and prowling closer to the edges of the city where the weather is milder.
The new moons this month take place on Ieneuer 12th, and with the Sisters’ disappearance from the skies, Mirrorbound Witches will feel a surge in their magic. Some of them, especially those newer to magic or out of practice, may have significant trouble controlling their spells. During the new moons -- and to a lesser extent, the day before and after -- Mirrobound Witches’ magic will be more prone to backfiring, going out of control, or doing something completely different from the caster’s intentions.
Ieneuer 28th marks the full moons. Un-Bonded Monsters among the Mirrorbound may find their effects even more difficult to defy than usual, and feral tendencies even harder to keep at bay.
