I don't always wear as much, but it's for protection as much as anything else. That coat is very thick leather, and there are layers below it, besides. Form and function, I believe they say.

Makes sense. Those beasts ya brought up before, maybe?

That is correct. Their claws are sharp and their strength terrifying, and that is the ones who didn't keep enough of their wits to use weapons. All are dangerous, but heavy armor just slows one down, and the Beasts are fast, besides. So it's as much protection as we can wear.

It does get rather hot. I've started to take to not wearing many of those layers in the city. [She hasn't been attacked yet, so she's letting her guard down a little.]
