Weather

With the weather turning comfortably and consistently chillier, Aefenglom embraces its autumn colors. The city is all golds, reds and browns, and leaves fall from the large trees to crinkle and crack softly beneath progressively warmer boots. Though the days are still pleasant and might not require a heavy coat just yet, the hours of sunlight run shorter and shorter, and nighttime brings crisp dry air and sharply cold winds. Farmers gather their harvests, while shops and eateries around Aefenglom begin serving more hot, rich food and spiced drinks to warm customers stepping out of the chill.

In the Wilde, where the opposing season always stands in contrast to Aefenglom's, the forest is beginning to soften from its harsh winter façade into a full-bloom spring. Bright new leaves sprout on the trees -- save those too far infected to bear signs of life -- and all sorts of colorful buds start to unfurl into beautiful blossoms of all shapes and sizes and, frankly, levels of danger. As the forest awakens, however, so do its other denizens. Various beasts recently emerged from their winter slumber are still voraciously hungry after all those weeks in hibernation. Of course, anyone traveling out into the Wilde is always advised to beware.

This Octeuril, leading up to Samuin, a particularly auspicious occasion has the farmers of Aefenglom excited. The Sisters will be full twice in one month, starting with Octeuril 1st's bright orange Harvest Moons. The month will finish off with yet another full appearance by the Sisters: the silvery light of two Blue Moons shines in the clear sky, kicking off the start of Samuin and closing out the year on a powerful note. Magic is expected to run quite strong during this year's Samuin festivities, and resisting the temptation to use it might be hard.
