Special Fourth Wall EMP!

Happy one-year anniversary, Aefenglom! In honor of this special occasion and to make up for delaying our application round, this month we are having a Fourth Wall Event, open to all who want to try out a character in the setting. Don't let your dreams be dreams. Keep in mind that for this Fourth Wall, characters who would not normally be appable will be allowed, except for CRAU, and with the caveat of "be considerate to each other" with regards to doubles, etc. Otherwise, have fun!

Feel free to use this post for characters you'd like to see, or to float characters you might want to bring, make plans with people who aren't already part of the game, etc! (The CR Meme on the 3rd will be for current players/characters. Fourth wall guests should use this instead.)

Fourth wall characters will arrive through various mundane mirrors throughout Aefenglom after a little mishap at the Looking-Glass House. This means that yes, you might stumble out of someone's bathroom mirror unexpectedly, sorry about that! Once here, everyone will begin accelerated transformations into Monsters or Witches, but unfortunately, their presence here is not so tied down as proper Mirrorbound, and by June 1st, they will all vanish back into the mirrors around the city. ICly they will know their stay is tentative, but no one will know exactly when they'll disappear.

Still, that's plenty of time to explore a little, or reunite with old friends.

Aefenglom is a sex-friendly, panfandom fantasy game, set in the post-apocalyptic world of Geardagas. Character choices can affect overarching plot, and the characters' ultimate goal will be to help rebalance the world by stopping the growth of the Cwyld, a magical blight infecting both the land and inhabitants living in places left unprotected. There are many things to learn about the world and how it came to be along the way that will help in discovering both the cause of the Cwyld and how to get home.

Gathers you into my arms!! ❤ This is such a sweet offer and just everything I could hope for, but wow that's a hard decision because who doesn't love them both?

Honestly, whichever is a better fit and more comfortable for you, I'll roll with it! But if you brought Binghe I'd be obligated to double-team him with SJ and my SQQ, at least for the event, because I'm down for playing out disasters and gratuitous fluff.

I'm so glad to hear you've picked it up and have been interested so far!

It's MXTX's first, so admittedly it is rough around the edges compared to her beautifully fleshed out 2nd and 3rd books. But it is such a good story at heart.

I hope you enjoy reading it cover to cover and some of the characters resonate with you enough to play from, since they're all so delightfully unique.

I was already idly contemplating bringing SQQ just for the internal screaming about jamjar settings (who thought it was a good idea to put these characters from every possible setting together?!) and such, but I'll just play it by ear and see! I only just got in on the SVSSS goodness a week or two ago so bear with me, ahaha!

Hello, the one being in this place Shen Jiu could probably tolerate, because their demeanor sound cut from similar cloths. They could be snarky and irritable at people together and bond through mutually catty personalities. It'll be a blast.

That sounds amazing tbh. SQQ is a gem and I would love to see him kicking up a fuss internally about all this nonsense. And if you bring SQQ in for the event I can always toss my own Binghe his way too!

That said, I'm already over the moon at the idea of CR with any canonmates at all. So however you decide I am 100% here for all of this and even more hyped now!

Possibly Bringing: Shen Qingqiu (transmigrated Shen Yuan)
Tell Us More: Shen Yuan, voracious reader of sometimes terrible fantasy novels, dies of food poisoning and gets reincarnated halfway through the life of the a scum-tier villain in the last shitty novel he read. Knowing said character gets horribly tortured in the end, he decides to baby and suck up to the protagonist in hopes of not having all his limbs ripped off and the guy falls in love with him instead oops. Ends up changing the genre of the novel from harem to BL. Externally serene, internally screaming a lot of the time.
Choice: Witch.
Basic Plans: I've been enabled into sneaking this guy in here to yell about tropes and the entire jamjar setting in internal monologue.
Anything Else: IF... you have a character from a very popular pop-culture canon... and IF... you enjoy being very lowkey 4th walled... just yell. Harry Potter is specifically mentioned in his canon, but it's probably safe to branch out a bit, haha. SQQ wouldn't be overt about it but might offer some advice based on knowing how things end in canon, that sort of thing.

that's totally cool with me! as far as canonpoint, aerith is post-advent children: complete, and outside of some minor fleshing out from the remake (the parts that add to her backstory, the neighborhood watches/orphanage in the slums, etc.), i'm not using that for my characterization for now since i want to see what happens first.

Tell Us More: kara is one of the last survivors of her planet. she was a teenager when it exploded and she landed on earth. (there's some timey wimey shenanigans involved in that but that doesn't matter too much.) since she was sixteen she's been following in her big cousin's footsteps as supergirl... and kind of struggling with it, tbh. this version of kara is a snarky dork, a scientist and artist, always looking for approval, and secretly full of rage.

bruce is the goddamn batman, best and most coherent version ever written

Choice: kara would be a harpy, probably modeled after a starling or a lark. bruce would probably be a vampire.
Basic Plans: just throwing them everywhere and seeing what sticks, honestly. i've been thinking about apping kara for a while and, while i don't think i could ever play bruce in a game again as he gets waaaay too into things, this is a good way to get to play him in that kind of a setting with a set end date

also batman. also also kara, at least, is aware that she's fictional in some universes so i'd be a-okay with all kinds of fourth walling "oh my god you're batman!!" or supergirl or whatever
