[She hasn't seen Dorothea yet. Honestly, she's too busy walking along looking at the algae. Dorothea will notice that Bernie is a good deal shorter than she last saw and there seem to be antennae sticking up from her hair. She jumps when she realizes someone is talking to her before gasping.]
