1 ✧ UNDERGROUND [It's comforting to be in a place that reminds them of home. The darkness. The gentle luminescence of the fungi. This world will never be the Underground -- and they have still yet to decide if they truly want to remain -- but for now, they can enjoy the quiet of these caverns. If Chara closes their eyes, they can almost pretend they're back in Waterfall, sitting by the rivers.
At some point, their curiosity -- and hunger -- overcomes their wariness. They find the bugs awfully slow and stupid. It doesn't take much effort to catch a handful of wriggling worms and, without so much as batting an eye, they pop a fat one into their mouth.]

[Needs seasoning. If someone is staring at them, they stare right back with a blank, soulless gaze. They extend their catch.]

2 ✧ THE PROCESSION [Chara watches. For such a young child, they seem awfully detached from the proceeding events. If anything, they seem to be watching too closely. What they're thinking is difficult to tell, for their expression is as calm and smooth as the lake's surface. Only when their boat continues on their way -- only when the remaining Monsters leave their sight -- does Chara react with a small, small smile.]
Do you think her last moments hurt?
[Asked calmly, casually, as if they were speaking about a day at school.]
