February Midmonth
| Midmonth Mod Post: February Hello, Aefenglom! Here's your monthly midmonth mod post. First, as always, some reminders. They're pretty brief this month:
• February's event Outpost Problems is still due to go up on the 16th. The Wilders and brave volunteers will venture north to set up a brand new outpost and see how the Wilde is doing. • Marie will be hosting a Valentine's Kissing Booth event and auction on the 14th, with all proceeds going to Mirrorbound and refugee-focused charity! •Our activity check also begins on Feb. 23rd! While we'll have the requirements on the activity check itself as a reminder, here they are right now so you can start figuring things out: 10 comments minimum from you across two threads OR one network post/log made by you with at least 5 comments from you and a second, separate thread with at least 5 comments from you.In addition, players are allowed to take a strike if they have at least half of the necessary activity; we have no TDM in February so that particular rule does not apply. Inbox threads and personal overflow threads also work - they just have to be from the current month! • The calendar has all these dates as always, so check it out! The Aefenglom Journal Ieneur ended on a sour note, with the kidnappings and torture of many Mirrorbound that reside within our walls. We here at the Journal are pleased to report that all were returned alive after the daring escape of eight individuals that led investigators the last few steps to their location. Twenty-one residents of the Aristocratic District and all twenty living members of the Rathmore family were arrested on multiple charges, and sentenced in a bombshell trial on the 3rd of Feoveuer. The testimony and cooperation of Mirrorbound and refugees with law enforcement resulted in the conviction of all involved in this dark scheme, and the city's streets are safe again. The Rathmore family, headed by patriarch Thomas Rathmore, had held three Parliament seats within the family for years - but with the decimation of the Rathmore line, these seats have been opened up once more. We have it on good authority that these seats have been given over for the Mirrorbound, that they may speak for themselves. Instead of three individuals, it has been reported that the seats will be used by a council! We're excited to see how this will change the face of politics in Aefenglom, by the introduction of new faces and ideas. In Mirrorbound news: what in Talam is Valentine's Day, and what ties does it have to charity and kissing? We hope to find out on the 14th! It's sure to be a grand event! Later this month, we hear our own Wilders will be heading out on one of their farthest-reaching expeditions to date, to set up a new outpost to the north, in order to better monitor, understand, and combat the spread of the Cwyld. We wish them all the luck on their mission of expansion and hope that none of them return with Cwyld infections! OOC Updates
• A hiatus rule clarification: submitting full AC alone will not 'refund' your hiatus. You must speak to us before the AC period begins to 'cancel' a hiatus and be able to take a hiatus the following month. Also please note that we recommend not posting hiatuses that will last under two weeks to the official post, they won't change your AC requirements and they will still count as a hiatus for that month. If you have extenuating circumstances, we always encourage players to come to us through PM or the Mod Contact post as soon as possible so we can work something out with regards to hiatuses, missed AC, and other exemptions. • Remember we have an Information Tracking spreadsheet here, made by Owlie and Yuff! • And finally, The Mirrorbound Council is open for sign ups if your character would want to work with other characters and Parliament! Feedback We're here again to offer everyone the chance to give some feedback, if there's anything that you've noticed or would like to possibly seem implemented! Talking Points:
• Quests. In general, what kind of quests would you like to see more of? How can we improve with these? What's working, and what isn't? • Plot investigation feedback. We've gotten quite a few good investigations, and honestly it's been fantastic seeing what everyone does with their information. • Events. What type of ones would you like to see, what ones are working, what aren't? • General feelings on: the game, the timing of posts, how events and such are set up, etc. • And more! Tell us what's on your mind. |
