I would never fault anyone for reacting like that. Hubert can be a little unsettling. And he certainly cultivates a more sinister appearance, but deep down he's a very kind man.

He pushes people to do what is best for them, and he is very good at subterfuge. He has a talent for it, and so he uses it. For good, I assure you. To stop bad people from being able to do worse things.

Just know that appearances can be deceiving. Watch how he treats people, and you'll start to see what I mean.
