let me,, entertain you
hey guys! happy new year to all of you and i hope it’s a fantastic one!! owlie here with a thing already brought up and briefly discussed on mid month post as per nammah’s suggestion— we’ve been doing plenty of investigations and getting some pretty neat plot and worldbuilding info behind the scenes, but, keeping track of all that information could be complicated! some players, including myself, have tried to make journal posts to keep them in, and at least in my experience it just. seems to get even more disorganized, for some reason. players don’t know if they should have access to certain things or not that they could work to expand on new info, or they get forgotten among the playerbase, and all of that can just get cluttered in general!
yuff has suggested using google spreadsheets to avoid the problems above and concerns brought up in the comment, and helped wonderfully in offering us a base here as an example! thank you, yuff!! as the mods have mentioned, this could work as a player project to avoid having a cluttered post with top levels for each topic— you guys can take a look at what that looks like here (which ends up looking really cluttered the more the comments stack, imo). later, it would be set up as an official permanent mod post where we could all go back to read and edit freely with our findings, as well as being linked constantly to avoid forgetting about it. we already got an okay from the mods to the spreadsheet, too!
this post is for us to discuss and exchange any more suggestions that we could implement to make it easier for all of us! on the official mod post, for example— should we still have top levels for every month, like the quest page so we can keep track of monthly findings (i’ll be helping with any info adding if anyone forgets to, for example, as anyone else is welcomed to!) or leave it as a simple go-to page with editing capabilities? something better? good the way it is? any input would be greatly appreciated!

LAYOUT/CODING SUGGESTIONS
One thing I will note, is that ideally I'd like to have this coded embedded into a dreamwidth post (like so) somewhere, so it's easier to access for folks who just want to quickly look up information. I should note that the embedded version is view only, you have to go into google sheets proper to edit things.
👍 👍
I also wanted to ask how detailed info we want to store there? Like for example, I keep links for flowers/herbs/alchemical stuff faq replies because those are of interest for someone with character dabbling in alchemy, but idk if this doc is meant to be about big investigation reveals, or smaller stuff like that
(edit) I live dangerously and just decided to add some Cwyld infection trivia anyway
no subject
I suppose the amount of info we can put in is everything we can consider interesting and not previously known! doesn’t have to be restricted to investigations, imo, so live the free, dangerous life you so please :)
