Weather Forecast:

Boaltinn is a bleak celebration as the first three days of Maiuril bring with them a thunderous storm, pouring rain continually until the dawn of the 4th. A few more periodic showers follow it, but the rest of Maiuril is dry and warm, but windy.

In the Wilde, always the opposing season, trees are shedding their leaves with the eventual coming of winter. The days grow cooler and wildlife prepare for cold weather. The Dryads' tree, freed from the Cwyldheart, remains a safe haven, fully in bloom despite autumn's chilly talons fully sunk in.

State of the Sisters:

The Sisters will be new and dark on the 11th. They will be full and round in the sky on the 26th. This month brings what the locals refer to as Twin Flower Blood Moons, where the Sisters seem larger and brighter in the sky, only to be briefly eclipsed on the 26th. This rare phenomenon coinciding with the positive changes in the continent's magical balance means that Witches may find themselves buzzing with restless energy on the 11th, then feeling weaker as the Sisters take on a reddish hue and fill out later in the month. Monsters, contrarily, will find themselves bolstered by the Blood Moons, feeling stronger and their instincts closer to the surface under the red glow of the lunar eclipse.

A Look Ahead:

⮞ This month: A ferocious storm brings a ship from distant islands in to harbor, and with it, people the likes of which Geardagas has never seen before...

⮞ Next month: With the area around the Northern Outpost finally clear, the Wilders begin exploring even further out to find the still-infected sections of wilderness to the northwest. They encounter unearthly howls and enormous, mysterious footprints among the felled trees...

May Anniversary Swap Requests

Happy two year anniversary, Aefenglom!

As you know, we just updated our Bestiary to add three new Monster types, and our Magic page to add a new ability for Witches, all of which will be available on May 4th with the start of our second Fourth Wall Event.

Whether you've been with us as a player for a long time, or you're still on the newer side, we appreciate you sticking with us! We know that sometimes, you just need a change. Normally when it comes to swaps, we do them case by case for those who are having trouble playing their characters as their initial choice, and those who want to swap into Dragon or Fae need to drop and reapply. But this May, with new stuff available, we feel it'd be unfair if we didn't offer a freebie swap for any current player who wants to request one! This will not require a reapplication, even for swapping into Dragon, Fae, or Dryad.

ICly, this can be done any day during May after your request is approved. Characters who are swapped will have a strange dream of either themselves as the new Monster type or as a Witch, or they will dream of joining a group of faceless people of that type. This dream can take whatever shape you'd like, whether it's a dream of going to join a gaggle of Coven Witches for classes, or a dream of dancing with Dryads under the moonlight. As they dream, they will sleepwalk to the Looking Glass House, and will walk through their mirror. They will not be aware of "going home", or that they walked into their mirror. They will return immediately through their mirror and wake from the dream in the Looking Glass House with their current changes vanishing or receding. Maybe Geardagas thinks it has a better fit for you?

This is not a process any NPC or PC has IC control over, and the Coven will be just as confused as your character is!

After that, it's up to you how quickly you would like them to change into their new form, from a minimum of the month of May to fully complete their new changes, or a maximum of the full 9 months if you want to do it gradually.

You have until June 1st to fill out the form and request a swap from whatever your character is currently to whatever new form you would like to play - Witch, or any available Monster type. Please note that for fairness' sake, we will require an expanded justification for anyone who wants to swap into Dragon, Fae, or Dryad.

Second Choice: You can just type NA if you want any type except Dragon, Fae, or Dryad. If you are going for one of those three, what is your second choice if your justification doesn't meet standards? You can choose to remain the same if you don't get your choice.
Justification: For most types, a sentence or two stating why you want this change is sufficient. For Dragon, Fae, or Dryad swaps, we require a bit more thought - how does this Monster fit (or conflict against) the character's personality? What development do you want to explore with it? Etc. A paragraph or two is enough.
