Weather

The citizens of Aefenglom might be sick of winter and ready for the cold to pass, but the weather seems to have no plans of letting up any time soon. Feoveuer brings snow -- and lots of it. The first few days of the month are unpleasantly windy, ushering in the cold front from the seaside with snow flurries and icy gusts. After the first week, the weather isn't any warmer, but at least the winds calm down; the snow falls regularly, but more gently, and piles up beautifully overnight. At least, those who don't have to travel or do business in it might get to enjoy the sight. Good luck to the poor cabs and omnibus drivers and their horses trying to navigate the icy roads, even with Witches working on clearing spells throughout the day.

Despite the cold and snow, the days around the middle of the month and toward the end are clear, and the sun shines high above, not warm but bright. By the end of Feoveuer, the temperature finally begins to rise. Snowmelts leave streets muddy and wet, but it looks like spring will finally be on its way soon.

In the Wilde, the rains have finally let up, and with the help of various Mirrorbound, the Wilders have managed to shore up the outposts in most locations, including the large Northern Outpost that had been most damaged by the floods. The weather in the Wilde this month is almost shockingly pleasant in contrast. Early mornings are dewy and starting to get chilly, but the days are bright and warm without as much humidity. Don't be fooled by the nice weather, though -- the animals and Cwyldtid that had been displaced by the floods are still reclaiming their territories and still dangerous, though at least easier to see than before should you go wandering. Just watch out for bears -- especially female ones -- that are beginning to fatten up for winter in the coming weeks, looking for dens to hole up in when the weather gets colder. Many of them are getting ready to have cubs in a few months, and they are very hungry.

The moons are new this month on the 11th, and full on the 27th. Some Witches may still experience spells backfiring around the new moons when the pull of their magic is strongest, but for anyone who struggled significantly in Ieneuer, things seem to be a little easier this time around.
