Kai is not at all an expert on magic. In fact, he's such a non-expert that he'd be happy enough to defer on most matters to just about anyone else.

But he knows what it's like to have iron under his skin, and to feel the reaction of magic ripping through him, setting every nerve on fire. Magic most definitely does not get along with iron.

"That one I know," Kai says.
